Description of the Related Art In a conventional flat type light source device, as shown in FIG. 2, light from a fluorescent tube 1 disposed on the side surface of the light source device is arranged around the reflection cover 5 so as to surround the fluorescent tube 1. It is reflected by and is made incident on the end face of the light guide 3. The light incident from the end face is diffusely reflected inside the light guide 3 and is radiated in a plane from the opposite side of the reflection sheet 4 by the reflection sheet 4. This realizes a planar light source.

This is because it is easy to perform mirror-finishing and has some strength, so that it is possible to prevent deformation of the curved surface portion that reflects light. However, the weight of the reflecting member tends to increase as the area of the light emitting portion of the light source device increases, which is an obstacle to weight reduction. Further, there is a problem in that the number of working steps for attaching the reflecting member to the light guide body and the manufacturing cost of the flat light source device are wasteful. An object of the present invention is to solve the above-mentioned conventional problems and to provide a flat-type light source device that is lightweight and has a reduced manufacturing cost.

A flat light source device, characterized in that the fluorescent tube surrounding surface of the housing is mirror-finished and functions as a reflecting member, and a light guide body and the light guide body. A planar light source device in which a fluorescent tube disposed on the side surface of the light guide body is retained in the housing leaving a light emitting surface of the light guide body, the light guide body facing surface of the housing and the fluorescent tube surrounding surface. Is a mirror-finished surface and functions as a reflecting member.

Embodiment 1 FIG. 3 is a front view of an embodiment of the flat light source device according to the present invention. The overall structure is such that the fluorescent tube 1 is arranged on one or two sides of the light guide 3 and the housing 2 holds the entire light guide 3 with the light emitting surface left. 4 is shown in FIG.
3 is a sectional view taken along line AA ′ of FIG. The surface of the housing 2 surrounding the fluorescent tube is mirror-finished so that the light of the fluorescent tube 1 is reflected and enters the end surface of the light guide 3. The light incident from the end face is radiated by the reflection sheet 4 in a plane shape from the reflection side of the reflection sheet 4. Examples of the material of the housing 2 include synthetic resins and metals such as aluminum and iron. In the case of metal, the mirror surface treatment of the surface surrounding the fluorescent tube of the housing is performed by performing mirror surface treatment on the inner surface thereof. When it is made of synthetic resin, silver or the like is attached to the inner surface by a sputtering method or a reflective paint is applied. By these mirror surface treatments, the light of the fluorescent tube 1 can be focused on the end surface of the light guide 3 without using a reflection cover.

The present embodiment is similar to the first embodiment in that the surrounding surface of the fluorescent tube 1 of the housing 2 is mirror-finished, but
In this embodiment, the surface of the housing 2 facing the light guide body is also mirror-finished and used in place of the reflection sheet. Therefore, the reflection sheet provided on the back surface of the light guide is unnecessary.

The following effects can be obtained by removing or reducing the number of reflecting members. (1) The reliability of the device is improved by reducing the number of parts. (2) Since the number of parts is reduced, the member cost is reduced. (3) The weight of the device is reduced. For example, if the length of the reflecting member is 21 cm, it will be reduced by about 15 g. this is,
The larger the light emitting device area, the greater the effect. (4) Since the installation time of the reflecting member is 0 minutes,
The number of man-hours for manufacturing the device will be reduced.
