Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a light-emitting diode lamp having a high light emission efficiency by a method wherein a reflective plane which surrounds the bowl- shaped recess of a lamp main part and is inclined so as to increase its diameter upward is attached to the lamp main part. CONSTITUTION:Two lead terminals 1a and 1b are provided and a bowl-shaped recess 4 is formed on the tip of the one (la) of the terminals 1a and 1b. A light-twitting diode element 2 is fixed to the inside of the recess 4 and connected to the other lead terminal (1b) with a metal wiring 3. The tip parts of the lead terminals 1a and 1b are sealed with light-transmitting epoxy resin to form a lamp main part 10 having a lens effect. A cylindrical member 11 having a reflective plane 11a which is inclined so as to increase its diameter upward is attached integrally to the barrel part of the lamp main part 10 so as to surround the bowl-shaped recess 4. Therefore, among emitted lights, lights which are out of the bowl-shaped recess 4 and emitted horizontally are reflected by the reflective plane 11a and guided upward, so that the light emission efficiency of the lamp can be improved.

4に示した従来例では、光L2はランプ本体5の側面か
ら放出される関係で発光効率の低下をきたしていたが、
本実施例ではランプ本体10の前面から取り出されるの
で、発光効率が高められる。また、ランプ本体10の表
面での全反射や、エポキシ樹脂に混合される光散乱剤で
反射されて、ランプ本体10の底部(リード端子側)に
戻ってきた光の一部は、反射面11aで反射されて、再
び上方に向けられるので、この点からも発光効率が高め
られる。

で、発光ダイオードランプの発光効率を高めることがで
きる。
