Abstract

PURPOSE:To realize easy high speed scanning and reading through utilization of a bar code reader provided with an optical head, when print data are inputted to a computer, by providing a ROM storing a microprogram for converting a received control code into a bar code and executing printing. CONSTITUTION:At first, a switch for switching received data through artificial operation to dump printing is set. When data are received through an external interface section 2, a received data dump print subroutine in a microprogram stored in a ROM 4 is executed. A microprocessor 1 then interprets the received data as numerical values which are then converted into a bar code and recorded, as an image data, in a RAM 5. When the data exceeds the capacity of the RAM 5 or when a forcible print command is inputted, data on the RAM 5 are transferred to a print section 6 and printed.
