【考案の詳細な説明】
[産業上の利用分野]
本考案は、例えばチタン箱型構造物の内部に補
強用ピン等の棒状部材を溶接する場合にその棒状
部材および側板内面の酸化防止を行うための棒状
部材溶接用バツクシールド装置に関するものであ

[従来の技術]
チタン部材を溶接する場合には、チタンの大気
による酸化を防止するためにアルゴンガスやヘリ
ウムガス等で溶接部及びその周辺並びに溶接ビー
ド裏面等高温にさらされる部分をシールドしなけ
ればならない。そのうち溶接部及びその周辺をア
フタシールドする治具ないし装置としては、例え
ば「溶接便覧」第1081〜1082頁(編者 社団法人
溶接学会、昭和60年4月20日第4刷、丸善(株)発
行)に記載されているものがある。また、溶接ビ
ード裏面等簡単な部分についてはそのバツクシー
ルド装置も比較的容易に構成できる。しかし、例
えば第7図に示すような複雑な形状をしたチタン
箱型構造物10の内部に多数の補強用ピンを溶接
する場合においては狭隘な場所の関係もあつてバ
ツクシールドすることは容易でない。例えば第7
図aのA部分の補強用ピンを溶接する場合には、
A部分の入口端11とこれと対向するD部分の出
口端14のみを開放し、その他のB,C,E,F
部分の開口端12,13,15,16はテープ等
で塞いでおき、上記入口端11からアルゴンガス
等を送入することによりバツクシールドを行い、
第7図bに示すように補強用ピン17と側板18
の嵌合端を外部からシールドしつつ溶接してい
た。そして、A部分のすべての補強用ピンの溶接
を終了した後は次のB部分について上記と同様に
補強用ピンの溶接を行うのである。この場合、
B,E部分の開口端12,15のみを開放し、そ
の他のA,C,D,Fの開口端11,13,1
4,16はテープ等で塞いでから行うものであ

のシールドガスの使用で済み、かつ、ガスの完全
