Description of the Related Art In recent years, magnetic recording means, recording means using semiconductor integrated circuits, optical recording means, etc. have been used as means for recording information on media such as cards, securities, gift certificates, tickets, and slips. To take cards as an example, magnetic recording means include cash cards, magnetic cards such as credit cards and prepaid cards, recording means using semiconductor integrated circuits include IC cards and IC memory cards, and optical recording means include optical cards and infrared cards. Infrared reading cards that use reflection or absorption of light have been developed, and a wide variety of cards are now available.

In the case of ID cards and the like, magnetic cards are often selected due to their economic efficiency and usability. However, in magnetic recording using magnetic recording means, it has been difficult to prevent fraudulent acts such as erasing or rewriting recorded information due to the widespread use of readers and the ease of standardization of magnetic cards.

Fixed information was recorded on the card surface using R, OCR, etc., but the patterns of bars, letters, numbers, etc. that represent that information can be seen visually, and only those with knowledge in the field can do so. If so, the contents can be easily read, and it is also possible to print it with magnetic ink, provide a concealing layer on the top surface, and read it with a magnetic sensor, etc., but the thickness of the magnetic ink makes it difficult to conceal it. It appeared to stand out from the layer, and the effectiveness of the concealing layer was halved. Focusing on this point, the applicant filed a patent application No. 2-7
In No. 2773, a heat-sensitive recording layer that can be written and read by infrared rays is provided, and a concealing layer that makes the heat-sensitive recording layer invisible to visible light is provided on the upper surface of the layer to prevent the information recorded on the heat-sensitive recording layer from being visually read. He proposed an information recording card that could be used to record information.

It is generally known that light resistance is poor, and if it is not possible to specify where it is used and how it is carried, such as a card, it is difficult to put it into practical use because it lacks reliability.

The pattern-formed area) absorbs infrared rays, and the uncolored area (unpatterned area) reflects infrared rays at a high rate, and this difference in contrast allows the pattern to be read.Furthermore, the heat-sensitive recording layer absorbs visible light due to the concealing layer. It is possible to prevent visual reading of the heat-sensitive recording layer by blocking the ultraviolet rays, and to prevent deterioration of the heat-sensitive recording layer by blocking ultraviolet rays by the ultraviolet absorbing layer.

A heat-sensitive recording layer 3 having characteristics is formed. This heat-sensitive recording layer 3 stores information such as bars, characters, etc.
Even if it can be recorded arbitrarily as a pattern such as numbers, information can also be recorded in the card manufacturing stage, such as bars, letters, etc.
The thermosensitive recording layer may be formed in advance in a pattern such as numbers so that its presence can be simply confirmed. 7 indicates information recorded on the thermosensitive recording layer 3 as a barcode pattern. An ultraviolet absorbing layer 4 is formed on the heat-sensitive recording layer 3 to absorb ultraviolet rays, prevent deterioration of the heat-sensitive color recording material forming the heat-sensitive recording layer, and provide light resistance. Further, a concealing layer 5 is provided to make the heat-sensitive recording layer 3 including the pattern invisible, and a protective layer 6 is further provided to protect the concealing layer 5. Note that the heat-sensitive recording layer 3 may be formed on both sides of the card or may be formed as a part of the card.

It is used to compare and match or to reproduce data from the output signal. For example, in the thermosensitive coloring material leuco dye used in the examples, the colored part (patterned part) and the uncolored part (thermally sensitive recording layer other than the pattern) are:
Each has spectral reflectance characteristic curves 8 and 9 as shown in FIG. 5, and in particular, at wavelengths of 740 nm or more, the colored portion 8 which is a pattern hardly reflects infrared rays, and the uncolored portion 9 other than the pattern has a high reflectance. show. Therefore, the pattern can be read from the difference in reflectance, and the presence or absence of the pattern can be used to determine authenticity or barcodes.
Can recognize data such as letters and numbers. Note that the pattern can also be visually recognized using an IR scope.

It is impossible to visually recognize the pattern recorded on the heat-sensitive recording layer from the outside, and factors that degrade the heat-sensitive recording layer, such as ultraviolet rays, can be eliminated, and practicality has been greatly improved. In addition, since it is possible to add information to the heat-sensitive recording layer, different information can be recorded on the card after the card is manufactured. This eliminates the need for cards to be limited to the same type or several types during card manufacture, and allows for the production of a large number of cards at once. This has the effect of reducing manufacturing costs. Furthermore, since patterns can be recorded as needed, the card can be used very flexibly.
