However, the ability of activated carbon to adsorb oil droplets is not very good, and it is considered that oil-absorbing rubber powder may be used. Norbornene rubber, which is obtained by ring-opening polymerization of norbornene and is a typical oil-absorbing rubber, has high compatibility with petroleum oils due to its composition and is insoluble in water, so it can be easily absorbed in water. It has excellent properties as an oil droplet collector. Compared to activated carbon and inorganic mineral adsorbents, norbornene rubber has extremely high oil adsorption ability. Moreover, the adsorption rate is comparable to that of other adsorbents. The only way to use oil-absorbing rubber powder for oil absorption is to remove it to collect oil on the water surface, but the method for using it to collect oil droplets dispersed in water has not yet been established. do not have.

For example, if you fill a treatment tank with norbornene-based rubber powder and introduce oil-containing water to be treated, this may cause clogging on the inlet side or uneven flow. There is a drawback that it cannot be used.

If the rubber powder is fixed on a carrier sheet, this sheet is placed in a packed bed, and the sheets are isolated using a spacer, etc., this isolated space is secured as a passage for treated water, and the excellent properties of oil-absorbing rubber powder are achieved. This led to the completion of the present invention.

As the carrier sheet made of a polymeric material, among commonly used sheets such as rubber sheets and plastic sheets, a sheet made of a material with excellent oil resistance or a sheet whose surface has been treated with oil resistance is preferably used. A rubber latex having good compatibility with norbornene rubber is coated on one side of the sheet by coating, spraying, etc., and norbornene rubber particles are attached thereon and heated and dried to fix the particles. Of course, the adhesive may be a resin emulsion other than rubber.

It is dispersed on the surface by spreading or spraying, and is adhered to the surface in a dot pattern. The excess is brushed off, and the adhesive is applied. Cure and fix. The powdered rubber may be fixed to one side of the carrier sheet as in the above embodiment, or may be fixed to both sides.

Alternatively, the sheets can be hung in the treatment tank at appropriate intervals, and the space between the sheets is used as a flow path for the water to be treated (see Figure B), or the sheets can be separated using an appropriate spacer. Methods such as filling a filling tank can be adopted.

At a removal rate of 90% and a concentration of 10 ppm, the adsorption equivalent (the number of grams of oil adsorbed to 1 gram of adsorbent) is 0.1 g/g.
It was hot. On the other hand, the oil absorption equivalent of activated carbon at 10 ppm is 0.024 g/g, which is four times better than activated carbon.

Furthermore, oil in water or on the water surface can be effectively removed by administering and spreading the oil adsorbent of the present invention. Furthermore, since the oil adsorbent of the present invention is in the form of a sheet, it can be rolled up and handled, making it easy to handle.
