本発明は、上述の実施形態の1以上の機能を実現するプログラムを、ネットワーク又は記憶媒体を介してシステム又は装置に供給し、そのシステム又は装置のコンピュータにおける1つ以上のプロセッサーがプログラムを読出し実行する処理でも実現可能である。また、1以上の機能を実現する回路(例えば、ASIC)によっても実現可能である。

Claims (5)
- 第1の光電変換部と、前記第1の光電変換部からの信号に基づいてパルス信号を生成する第1の生成部と、前記第1の生成部により生成された前記パルス信号をカウントする第1のカウンタ回路とを備えた第1の画素回路と、
第2の光電変換部と、前記第2の光電変換部からの信号に基づいてパルス信号を生成する第2の生成部と、前記第2の生成部により生成された前記パルス信号をカウントする第2のカウンタ回路と、時間を測定する時間測定回路とを備えた第2の画素回路と、を有し、
前記第1の画素回路は、時間測定回路を備えておらず、
前記第2の画素回路は、前記第2のカウンタ回路によりカウントされたカウント値と、前記時間測定回路により測定された時間測定値とのいずれか一方を選択的に出力することを特徴とする光電変換装置。 - 前記第2の画素回路の感度は、前記第1の画素回路の感度よりも高いことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の光電変換装置。
- 前記第2の画素回路の前記第2のカウンタ回路のカウント値が飽和した場合、前記第1の画素回路の前記第1のカウンタ回路を停止することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の光電変換装置。
- 前記第2の画素回路は、さらに、前記第2のカウンタ回路の飽和回数をカウントする飽和回数カウンタと、前記第2のカウンタ回路の総飽和時間をカウントする飽和時間カウンタと、前記飽和回数と前記総飽和時間とを記憶するメモリ部を備えることを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載の光電変換装置。
- 前記第1の画素回路の画素値は、前記メモリ部に記憶された前記飽和回数と前記総飽和時間から復元されることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の光電変換装置。
