Description

The present invention relates to a water stop.

In recent years, heavy rainfall and other events have caused large amounts of rainfall in a short period of time, causing rivers to overflow and flooding, with floodwaters frequently entering roads and causing them to become submerged, or entering buildings. In order to prevent this type of floodwater from entering, it has been proposed to install waterstops.

However, the waterstop described above is used by placing the waterstop body in an opening in a building, and has the problem that it can only be used in openings in buildings for which it is intended to be used, and cannot be placed in any location where floodwater occurs.

Furthermore, the above-mentioned waterstop has the problem that it takes time to install the waterstop body at the opening of the building, and the waterstop cannot be installed in a short time.

The present invention provides a water stop plate that can be easily installed in a short time at any location, such as a road or building opening, where floodwater intrusion occurs or is expected, to create a water stop wall that generally prevents the intrusion of rainwater, floodwater, etc., and can ensure evacuation routes, etc.

The waterstop of the present invention is a waterstop that can be connected in the left-right direction to form a waterstop wall,
A bottom portion to be placed on a water cutoff wall construction surface on which the water cutoff wall is constructed;
and a rising portion extending upward from the rear of the bottom portion,
The above-mentioned standing portion has a first connection portion at one end thereof, and a second connection portion at the other end which is detachably connected and fixed to the first connection portion of the waterstop plate which is connected adjacent to each other in the left-right direction, with the standing portions of the waterstop plate which are connected adjacent to each other in the left-right direction being connected at a desired angle.

The waterstop of the present invention is a simple process of arranging multiple waterstops in a continuous left-right direction on a waterstop wall construction surface, and connecting the first connection portion of one waterstop plate to the second connection portion of the other waterstop plate that are adjacent to each other in the left-right direction, allowing multiple waterstop plates to be connected in a continuous left-right direction to easily construct a waterstop wall.

As described above, the waterstop of the present invention is connected continuously in the left-right direction by connecting the mutually opposing first and second connection parts of waterstops adjacent to each other in the left-right direction, and does not require additional equipment for disposing the waterstop at the location where the waterstop wall is to be constructed. Therefore, the waterstop of the present invention makes it possible to construct a waterstop wall at a desired location without having to choose a location for the waterstop wall.

In the above waterstop, if the first connection part has an arc-shaped receiving part and the second connection part has a locking part that can be freely engaged and disengaged at a desired position on the receiving part, then by engaging the second connection part at a desired position on the arc-shaped receiving part of the first connection part, the upright parts of adjacent waterstops can be connected in the left-right direction at a desired connection angle, and a waterstop wall of the desired shape can be constructed.

In the above waterstop, when the first connection portion has a convex arc-shaped first abutment surface formed at one end of the upright portion and curved in the direction of change in the connection angle of the upright portions of the adjacent connected waterstops, and the second connection portion has a concave arc-shaped second abutment surface that abuts against the first abutment surface, the convex arc-shaped first abutment surface of the first connection portion of one waterstop is abutted against the concave arc-shaped second abutment surface of the second connection portion of the other waterstop, and the other waterstop is positioned around the first connection portion of one waterstop, and then the first abutment surface is smoothly rotated around the first connection portion of the one waterstop as a guide surface, whereby the connection angle between the upright portions of the adjacent waterstops can be easily adjusted, and a waterstop wall of the desired shape can be constructed in a short time.

In the above waterstop, when the first connection portion has a receiving portion at the upper end of the first contact surface, while the second connection portion has an engaging portion at the upper end of the second contact surface, adjacent waterstops can be connected at a desired connection angle to easily construct a waterstop wall having a desired shape by engaging or hooking the engaging portion of the second connection portion of the other waterstop with the engaging portion of the first connection portion of the other waterstop and positioning the other waterstop around the receiving portion of the one waterstop, and then rotating the other waterstop around the receiving portion of the one waterstop.

In the above waterstop, when the receiving portion of the first connection portion is formed in a circular ring shape, the adjacent waterstops can be easily connected to each other with their upright portions at the desired connection angle by engaging or hooking the locking portion of one waterstop to any portion of the receiving portion of the other waterstop and then rotating the other waterstop around the first connection portion of the other waterstop.

When the waterstop plate is configured so that the locking portion of the second connection portion is fixed to the receiving portion of the first member by driving a pile member into the receiving portion of the first connection portion, a waterstop wall can be constructed by continuously connecting and integrating multiple waterstop plates in the left-right direction with the simple task of driving a pile member into the receiving portion.

In the above waterstop, the bottom of the waterstop has an upper engagement step formed on its upper surface and a lower engagement step formed on its lower surface, and in the waterstops connected adjacent to each other in the left-right direction, the lower engagement step of the bottom of the waterstop arranged overlapping on the upper side is configured to engage with a predetermined portion of the upper engagement step of the bottom of the waterstop arranged overlapping on the lower side at at least one connection angle of the upright parts of the waterstops connected in the left-right direction, so that the upper and lower engagement steps formed on the bottom of the adjacent waterstops partially engage with each other, reducing the inadvertent change in the connection angle between the upright parts due to water pressure applied to the waterstop, and generally preventing the waterstop wall from deforming, allowing the waterstop wall to achieve excellent waterstopping effects.

In the above waterstop, if the lower engagement step of the bottom of the waterstop plate arranged overlapping on the upper side is configured to engage with a predetermined portion of the outer periphery of the bottom of the waterstop plate arranged overlapping on the lower side at at least one connection angle of the upright parts of the waterstop plates connected in the left-right direction, it is possible to reduce the connection angle of the upright parts of adjacent waterstop plates from being inadvertently changed due to water pressure applied to the waterstop plate, and it is possible to generally prevent the waterstop wall from being deformed and provide the waterstop wall with an excellent waterstop effect.

In the above waterstop, if the upper and lower engagement steps formed on the bottom of the waterstop are formed to have the same shape when projected vertically, when multiple waterstops are stacked vertically, the upper engagement step on the bottom of the lower waterstop will roughly match the lower engagement step on the bottom of the upper waterstop, allowing multiple waterstops to be stacked with a lower vertical height, saving storage space and allowing multiple waterstops to be easily and efficiently transported to the desired waterstop wall construction surface in a small volume to construct the waterstop wall.

In the above waterstop, the receiving portion of the first connection portion has a locking protrusion, and the locking portion of the second connection portion has a locking piece that locks with the locking protrusion. In the case where adjacent waterstops connected in the left-right direction are configured so that the rotation restriction direction due to the locking protrusion of the first connection portion and the locking piece of the locking portion of the second connection portion are opposite to the rotation restriction direction due to the locking of the upper and lower engagement steps of the bottom, the upright portions of the waterstops connected to each other in the left-right direction can be firmly fixed at the desired connection angle by the locking protrusion of the first connection portion and the locking piece of the locking portion of the second connection portion, and the engagement of the upper and lower engagement steps of the bottom. This makes it possible to construct a waterstop wall that is largely prevented from deforming despite the water pressure applied to the waterstop and has an excellent waterstop effect.

In the above waterstop, a plurality of upper and lower engagement steps are formed on the upper and lower surfaces of the bottom, and when the standing parts of the waterstops connected in the left-right direction are connected at at least one connection angle, if the shape of at least one lower engagement step formed on the bottom of the waterstop plate placed on top of the other is formed to match the shape of a part of an upper engagement step formed on the bottom of the waterstop plate placed on top of the other, the upper and lower engagement steps formed on the bottom of the waterstop plates placed on top of each other can be firmly engaged by partially matching each other, and the waterstops connected to each other in the left-right direction can be more firmly fixed so that the standing parts are at the desired connection angle, and a waterstop wall that is largely prevented from deforming and has an excellent waterstop effect can be constructed regardless of the water pressure applied to the waterstop plate.

An example of a waterstop of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. As shown in Figures 1 to 4, waterstop A has a bottom portion 1 and an upright portion 2 that is integrally provided upward at the rear portion (preferably the rear edge portion) of the bottom portion 1.

The bottom 1 has a shape in which fan-shaped left and right sections 1b, 1c are joined to the left and right ends of a central section 1a that is a horizontal rectangle in plan view, and has linear side edges 12, 13 that spread forward from the left and right ends of a rear edge 11 that is formed in a roughly straight line. At the front edge 14 of the bottom 1, the central section 14a is formed in a roughly straight line, and the left and right ends 14b, 14c are formed in a convex arc shape.

As described below, the bottom 1 is configured so that, when the waterstops A, A are continuously connected in the left-right direction, the opposing ends (left and right parts 1b, 1c) of the bottom parts 1, 1 of adjacent waterstops A, A in the left-right direction can overlap or the opposing edges can abut over almost their entire length. The left-right width of the front edges of the left and right parts 1b, 1c of the bottom 1 can be adjusted appropriately according to the connection angle α between the upright parts 2, 2 of the waterstops A, A that are connected in the left-right direction. Therefore, the left-right widths of the front edges of the left and right parts 1b, 1c of the bottom 1 of the waterstops A shown in Figures 1 to 4 are different, but they may be the same width.

The connection angle α of the standing part is the angle (0°≦α≦90°) between the planes formed by the front (back) of the standing part 2 of the waterstop plate A connected in the left-right direction (if the front (back) of the standing part 2 has an uneven part, the plane is obtained by ignoring the uneven part from the front (back) of the standing part 2). For example, it is specified as follows. After the waterstop plate is connected to the left and right sides of one waterstop plate using the first and second connection parts and before being fixed by the pile member, the line connecting the rotation centers of the left and right waterstop plates when the waterstop plates connected to the left and right are rotated with the central waterstop plate as the reference line L of the standing part of the waterstop plate. The angle (0°≦α≦90°) formed by the reference lines L, L of the standing parts of the waterstop plates connected in the left-right direction is the connection angle α of the standing part.

The bottom 1 has a plurality of upper engagement steps 4 (41, 42) formed on its upper surface and a plurality of lower engagement steps 5 (51, 52) formed on its lower surface. The upper and lower engagement steps 4, 5 have vertical engagement surfaces 4a, 5a that allow the upper engagement step 4 and the lower engagement step 5 to be freely engaged and disengaged (see Figure 5).

In the water stop A shown in Figures 1 to 3, two upper engagement steps 4 are formed on the top surface of the bottom 1. The left upper engagement step (first upper engagement step) 41 is formed curving leftward from the rear edge of the central part 1a of the bottom 1 toward the front edge of the left side part 1b. Specifically, the first upper engagement step 41 is formed in a planar convex arc shape with the main body part 41a, excluding the front end part 41b, protruding to the right, and the front end part 41b is connected to the front end of the main body part 41a via a bent part 41c and reaches the front edge of the bottom 1, forming a planar convex arc shape that protrudes slightly to the right.

The right upper engagement step (second upper engagement step) 42 formed on the top surface of the bottom 1 is formed by drawing a curved line to the left from the front of the right edge 13 of the bottom toward the left side of the front edge of the central part 14a. Specifically, the second upper engagement step 42 is formed in a planar convex arc shape with the main body part 42a, excluding the left side part 42b, protruding forward, and the left side part 42b is connected to the left end of the main body part 42a via a bent part 42c and reaches the front edge of the central part 1a of the bottom 1 and is formed in a planar convex arc shape protruding slightly forward.

And, as shown in FIG. 6, two lower engagement steps 5 are also formed on the underside of the bottom 1. The lower engagement steps 5 are formed at a position slightly shifted to the left in parallel to the upper engagement steps 4 when viewed from above, and are formed in the same shape.

In detail, the left lower engagement step (first lower engagement step) 51 formed on the underside of the bottom 1 is formed in the same shape as the first upper engagement step 41 when viewed from above. The first lower engagement step 51 is formed by drawing a curved line to the left from the rear end edge of the central part 1a of the bottom 1 to the front end edge of the left side part 1b. Specifically, the first lower engagement step 51 is formed in a planar convex arc shape with the main body part 51a, excluding the front end part 51b, protruding to the right, and the front end part 51b is connected to the front end of the main body part 51a via a bent part 51c and reaches the front end edge of the bottom 1 and is formed in a planar convex arc shape protruding slightly to the right.

The right lower engagement step (second lower engagement step) 52 formed on the underside of the bottom 1 is formed in the same shape as the second upper engagement step 42 when viewed from above. The second lower engagement step 52 is formed by drawing a curved line to the left from the front of the right edge 13 of the bottom toward the left side of the front edge of the center part 14a. Specifically, the second lower engagement step 52 is formed in a planar convex arc shape with the main body part 52a, excluding the left side part 52b, protruding forward, and the left side part 52b is connected to the left end of the main body part 52a via a bent part 52c and reaches the front edge of the center part 1a of the bottom 1 and is formed in a planar convex arc shape protruding slightly forward.

As shown in Figure 7, the second upper engagement step 42 and the first lower engagement step 51 are formed so that their shapes partially match. Specifically, the portion of the first lower engagement step 51 excluding the rear end of the main body portion 51a (the remaining portion excluding the rear end of the first lower engagement step 51) and the portion of the second upper engagement step 42 excluding the front portion of the left side portion 42b (the remaining portion excluding the front end of the second upper engagement step 42) are formed to have the same shape.

As shown in FIG. 7, the left side 52b of the second lower engagement step 52 has a portion that is formed in the same shape or has the same shape as the shape extending from the right end 1a1 of the front edge of the center 1a of the bottom 1 to the left end 1c1 of the front edge of the right side 1c of the bottom 1.

Furthermore, as shown in FIG. 8, the longitudinal center portion 51a1 of the main body portion 51a of the first lower engagement step 51 is formed in the same shape as the right end portion 42a1 of the main body portion 42a of the second upper engagement step 42. In addition, a portion 52b1 (the remaining portion excluding the front end portion) of the left side portion 52b of the second lower engagement step 52 is formed in the same shape as the right end portion 1c2 of the front edge of the right side portion 1c of the bottom 1.

As shown in Figures 7 and 8, when the waterstops A, A are connected and integrated in the left-right direction at a predetermined connection angle α between the upright parts, the second lower engagement step 52 is formed to abut against the front edge of the right side part 1c of the bottom part 1.

As described above, in waterstops A that are adjacently connected in the left-right direction with at least one connection angle α of the upright portions 2, a portion of any upper engagement step 4 formed on the bottom 1 on the lower side and/or the front edge of the bottom 1 engages with a portion of any lower engagement step 5 formed on the bottom 1 on the upper side, and the waterstops A, A are configured to generally prevent the connection angle α of their upright portions 2, 2 from being displaced significantly in the direction.

A sealing member 1d made of an elastic material is disposed and integrated on the underside of the bottom 1 of the waterstop A, preferably on the front end of the underside of the bottom 1, and this sealing member 1d absorbs the unevenness formed on the waterstop wall construction surface B on which the waterstop A is placed, allowing the waterstop A to be placed on the waterstop wall construction surface B with as few gaps as possible. Figure 5 shows the case where the sealing member 1d is disposed and integrated on the front end of the bottom 1 of the waterstop A, but the sealing member may be disposed and integrated on another part of the underside of the bottom 1. The elastic material constituting the sealing member 1d only needs to have elasticity that allows it to elastically recover in the environment in which the waterstop A is used.

The material constituting the sealing member is not particularly limited, and examples thereof include non-expanding single sealant (unvulcanized butyl rubber, polyvinyl chloride), non-expanding composite sealant (a sealant combining chloroprene rubber as a core material and unvulcanized butyl rubber as an adhesive material), water-expanding single sealant (a sealant made of a homogeneous material in which chloroprene rubber is mixed with a highly water-absorbent polymer), and water-expanding composite sealant (a sealant combining a water-expanding single sealant and chloroprene rubber). Such materials are made of materials that have flexibility (flexibility, elasticity), such as synthetic resin materials (rubber, elastomer, flexible resin, etc.). For example, it is preferable to use a rubber material that contains many independent bubbles, that is less susceptible to deterioration due to temperature changes, and that is abrasion-resistant. As an example, EPDM rubber foam, Eptseal, or hollow rubber, can be used.

A standing portion 2 is protruding from the rear (preferably the rear end) of the bottom 1 of the waterstop A, inclining slightly diagonally backward upward over the entire length of the left-right direction. The surface area of the bottom 1 when viewed from above is configured to be larger than the surface area of the standing portion 2 when viewed from the front, and the waterstop A is configured so that when water is blocked by a waterstop wall C constructed using the waterstop A, the total water pressure applied to the bottom 1 of the waterstop A and the sum of the weight of the waterstop A are larger than the total water pressure applied to the standing portion 2 of the waterstop A, so that the waterstop A is stably placed with its bottom 1 placed on the waterstop wall construction surface B and the standing portion 2 standing upward.

The height of the standing portion 2 of the water stop A is preferably 30 cm or more, more preferably 50 cm or more, and more preferably 70 cm or more. The height of the standing portion 2 of the water stop A is preferably 200 cm or less, more preferably 150 cm or less, and more preferably 120 cm or less.

The first connection part 21 is formed at the right end of the standing part 2 of the waterstop A. The first connection part 21 has a convex arc-shaped first abutment surface 21a formed from the outer peripheral surface of a truncated cone by bulging the right end of the standing part 2 of the waterstop A forward and exposed forward. The first abutment surface 21a is formed as a convex arc-shaped surface whose cross section along the horizontal direction protrudes forward and whose left-right width gradually narrows from bottom to top and is slightly inclined diagonally backward. The first abutment surface 21a is curved in a convex arc shape (protruding downward in FIG. 7) in the displacement direction of the standing part 2 of one waterstop A when the standing part 2 of the other waterstop A is used as a reference in the waterstop A, A connected in the left-right direction.

On the other hand, a second connection part 22 is formed at the left end of the standing part 2 of the water stop plate A. The second connection part 22 has a concave arc-shaped second abutment surface 22a exposed to the rear by bulging the left end of the standing part 2 of the water stop plate A forward over almost the entire length in the vertical direction (see Figures 1 and 4). The second abutment surface 22a is formed in approximately the same shape as the curved shape of the first abutment surface 21a, and when the second abutment surface 22a is overlapped with the first abutment surface 21a from the front, the opposing surfaces of the first abutment surface 21a and the second abutment surface 22a abut against each other over their entire length in the vertical direction and are in a state of approximately close contact, so that leakage from between the opposing surfaces of the first abutment surface 21a and the second abutment surface 22a is generally prevented.

The first connection part 21 also has a cone-shaped receiving part 21b at its upper end that protrudes rearward. A constant-width annular flange part 21c is formed horizontally outward at the upper open edge of the receiving part 21b of the first connection part 21, and is configured to be able to freely engage and disengage the engaging part 22b of the second connection part 22 described below.

On the other hand, the upper end of the second connection part 22 is formed with a locking part 22b that can be freely engaged and disengaged with the flange part 21c of the receiving part 21b of the first connection part 21. The locking part 22b has a locking plate part 22c that protrudes horizontally rearward from the entire length of the upper end of the second connection part 22 and is placed on the flange part 21c of the receiving part 21b of the first connection part 21 when the locking part 22b is engaged with the receiving part 21b of the first connection part 21, and a concave arc-shaped locking inclined part 22d that extends diagonally downward from the rear end of the locking plate part 22c and is arranged along the mortar-shaped inclined surface 21f of the receiving part 21b when the locking part 22b of the second connection part 22 is engaged with the receiving part 21b of the first connection part 1.

The locking plate portion 22c of the locking portion 22b of the second connection portion 22 is formed in a planar arc shape that has a constant width and is curved with the same radius of curvature as the annular flange portion 21c of the receiving portion 21b of the first connection portion 21. The locking portion 22b of the second connection portion 22 is configured to be movable in the circumferential direction of the flange portion 21c of the receiving portion 21b of the first connection portion 21, with the inclined surface 21f of the receiving portion 21b of the first connection portion 21 serving as a guide surface for the locking inclined portion 22d of the locking portion 22b of the second connection portion 22, with the locking plate portion 22c slightly raised above the flange portion 21c of the receiving portion 21b of the first connection portion 21.

In addition, a through hole 21e for driving the pile member 6 is formed in the center of the receiving portion 21b of the first connection portion 21, penetrating in the vertical direction. By driving the pile member 6 into the through hole 21e through the upper end opening of the receiving portion 21b, the locking plate portion 22c of the locking portion 22b engaged with the receiving portion 21b is pressed against the flange portion 21c (or locking protrusion 21d) of the receiving portion 21b, and the locking portion 22b of the second connection portion 22 is fixed and integrated with the receiving portion 21b of the first connection portion 21 in a locked state. The lower half 61 of the pile member 6 is made of an elastically restorable rubber material, and is configured so that by driving the pile member 6 into the receiving portion 21b of the first connecting portion 21, the elastic restoring force of the rubber material of the pile member 6 presses the locking portion 22b of the second connecting portion 22 against the receiving portion 21b of the first connecting portion 21.

Furthermore, a plurality of locking projections 21d are provided at predetermined intervals in the circumferential direction of the flange portion 21c on the front (bottom 1 side) part of the upper surface of the flange portion 21c of the receiving portion 21b, while a locking piece 22e is provided on the left edge of the locking plate portion 22c of the locking portion 22b of the second connecting portion 22 protruding downward, so that when the locking portion 22b of the second connecting portion 22 is locked to the receiving portion 21b of the first connecting portion 21, the locking piece 22e of the locking portion 22b of the second connecting portion 22 can be locked to the locking projection 21d of the receiving portion 21b of the first connecting portion 21.

In the above water stop A, the first connection part 21 is formed at the right end of the standing part 2, and the second connection part 22 is formed at the left end. However, the first connection part 21 may be formed at the left end of the standing part 2, and the second connection part 22 may be formed at the right end.

In addition, in the above water stop A, the right end of the standing portion 2 is bulged to form the first connection portion 21, but the right end of the standing portion 2 may be integrated with the first connection portion made of an elastic body. The elastic body may be elastic enough to be able to restore its elasticity in the environment in which the water stop A is used, and may be made of the same material as the sealing member described above.

In addition, in the above water stop A, the bottom 1 is described as having two engaging steps, but the upper and lower engaging steps 4, 5 formed on the bottom 1 may each be one or three or more. The shapes of the upper and lower engaging steps 4, 5 formed on the bottom do not need to be the same and may be different, and the numbers of the upper and lower engaging steps 4, 5 may differ from each other.

In addition, if the heights of the waterstop wall construction surface B on which adjacent waterstops A, A are placed in the left-right direction are different, the vertical heights of the bottoms 1, 1 of adjacent waterstops A, A will differ, and the receiving portion 21b of the first connection portion 21 of one waterstop A cannot be engaged with the locking portion 22b of the second connection portion 22 of the other waterstop A, forming a gap between the opposing surfaces of adjacent waterstops A, A, and water will leak from this gap.

In such a case, end members 7 are detachably attached to the opposing portions of waterstop plates A, A that are placed on waterstop construction surfaces B of different heights and adjacent to each other in the left-right direction, and the end members 7 are brought into close contact with each other to absorb the difference in height of the waterstop construction surfaces B.

As shown in Figures 11 and 12, the end member 7 has a fan-shaped bottom 71 and upright portions 72a, 72b that protrude slightly upward and diagonally backward from the rear portion (preferably the rear edge portion) of the bottom 71, and an abutment portion 73 is formed between the opposing portions of the upright portions 72a, 72b by bulging forward. When attached to the waterstop A, the opposing ends of the fan-shaped bottom 71 of the end member 7 and the bottom portion 1 of the waterstop A are configured to partially overlap. When the end member 7 is attached to the waterstop A, when the upright portions 72a, 72b of the end member 7 are brought into close contact with the upright portion 2 of the waterstop A, the upright portions 72a (72b) of the end member 7 and the upright portion 2 of the waterstop A are configured to be in almost full contact with each other on their opposing surfaces.

The abutment portion 73 of the end member 7 has a horizontal cross section that protrudes forward and is formed in a convex arc shape that gradually narrows in width from bottom to top and is slightly inclined diagonally backward.

The front peripheral surface of the abutment portion 73 of the end member 7 is formed from the outer circumferential surface of the truncated cone and is a convex arc-shaped first abutment surface 73a exposed to the front, while the rear peripheral surface of the abutment portion 73 of the end member 7 is formed from a concave arc-shaped second abutment surface 73b exposed to the rear.

The second contact surface 73b of the contact portion 73 of the end member 7 is formed in approximately the same curved shape as the first contact surface 21a of the waterstop A. When the second contact surface 73b of the end member 7 is overlapped from the front with the first contact surface 21a of the waterstop A, the opposing surfaces of the first contact surface 21a of the waterstop A and the second contact surface 73b of the end member 7 come into contact over their entire vertical length and are in approximately tight contact, so that leakage from between the opposing surfaces of the first contact surface 21a of the waterstop A and the second contact surface 73b of the end member 7 is generally prevented.

Similarly, the first contact surface 73a of the contact portion 73 of the end member 7 is formed in approximately the same curved shape as the second contact surface 22a of the waterstop A. When the second contact surface 22a of the waterstop A is overlapped from the front on the first contact surface 73a of the end member 7, the opposing surfaces of the second contact surface 22a of the waterstop A and the first contact surface 73a of the end member 7 come into contact over their entire vertical length and are in approximately tight contact with each other, so that leakage from between the opposing surfaces of the second contact surface 22a of the waterstop A and the first contact surface 73a of the end member 7 is generally prevented.

In addition, a locking portion 73c is integrally formed at the upper end of the abutment portion 73 of the end member 7, which can be freely engaged and disengaged with the receiving portion 21b at the first connection portion of the water stop plate A. The locking portion 73c of the end member 7 has a planar arc-shaped locking plate portion 73d that protrudes horizontally rearward from the entire length of the planar arc-shaped upper end of the abutment portion 73 and is placed on the flange portion 21c of the receiving portion 21b of the first connection portion 21 of the waterstop A when the locking portion 73c of the end member 7 is locked to the receiving portion 21b of the first connection portion 21 of the waterstop A, and a concave arc-shaped locking slope portion 73e that extends diagonally downward and rearward from the rear end of the locking plate portion 73d and is disposed along the mortar-shaped sloped surface 21f of the receiving portion 21b when the locking portion 73c of the end member 7 is locked to the receiving portion 21b of the first connection portion 1 of the waterstop A.

The width of the locking plate portion 73d of the end member 7 is between the width of the flange portion 21c of the receiving portion 21b of the first connection portion 21 of the waterstop A and the width of the locking plate portion 22c of the second connection portion 22 of the waterstop A, so that the locking portion 22b of the second connection portion 22 of the waterstop A can be freely engaged and detached to the locking plate portion 73d of the end member 7, and the locking portion 73c of the end member 7 can be freely engaged and detached to the flange portion 21c of the receiving portion 21b of the first connection portion 21 of the waterstop A.

Next, we will explain how to use waterstop A. Waterstop A is used to construct a waterstop wall C by connecting multiple waterstops A, A... in the left-right direction on a desired waterstop wall construction surface B, such as a road or building opening where floodwater intrusion occurs or is expected (see Figure 13).

To connect and integrate the waterstops A, A in the left-right direction, the second abutment surface 22a of the waterstop A arranged on the right side is placed from the front against the first abutment surface 21a of the first connection part 21 of the waterstop A arranged on the left side, and the locking part 22b of the second connection part 22 of the waterstop A arranged on the right side is locked to the receiving part 21b of the first connection part 21 of the waterstop A arranged on the left side so as to be freely engaged and disengaged (see, for example, Figure 14). In this state, the locking piece 22e of the second connection part 22 of the waterstop A is locked to one of the locking protrusions 21d of the receiving part 21b of the first connection part 21 of the waterstop A according to the connection angle α of the upright parts 2 of the waterstops A, A connected in the left-right direction. In the following, of the two waterstops A, A that are connected or in a connected state on the left and right sides, the waterstop A arranged on the left side may be referred to as the "left side waterstop" and the waterstop A arranged on the right side as the "right side waterstop."

Then, the pile member 6 is driven into the receiving portion 21b of the first connection portion 21 of the left waterstop plate A, and the engaging plate portion 22c of the second connection portion 22 of the right waterstop plate A is pressed onto the flange portion 21c of the first connection portion 21 of the left waterstop plate A, and the first abutment surface 21a of the left waterstop plate A and the second abutment surface 22a of the right waterstop plate A are generally abutted over their entire length in the vertical direction, and the waterstop plates A, A can be fixed in a state connected in the left-right direction so that there is no relative displacement between them.

In the manner described above, the waterstop plates A can be connected in the left-right direction while the connection angle α between the upright portions 2 of the waterstop plates A, A is set to a desired angle to construct a waterstop wall C.

Figure 8 is a plan view showing the state in which waterstops A, A are connected in the left-right direction so that their upright portions 2, 2 are positioned in a straight line (connection angle α of the upright portions = 0°). In this state, the shape of the central portion 51a1 in the longitudinal direction of the main body portion 51a of the first lower engagement step 51 formed on the underside of the bottom portion 1 of the right waterstop A is engaged with the shape of the right end portion 42a1 of the main body portion 42a of the second upper engagement step 42 formed on the top surface of the bottom portion 1 of the left waterstop A.

Furthermore, the remaining portion 52b1, excluding the front end portion of the left side portion 52b of the second lower engagement step 52 formed on the bottom portion 1 of the right water stop plate A, is engaged with the right end portion 1c2 of the front edge of the right side portion 1c of the bottom portion 1 of the left water stop plate A.

Figure 7 is a plan view showing the state in which waterstops A, A are connected in the left-right direction with the upright portion 2 of the right waterstop A positioned a predetermined angle (upright portion connection angle α = 30°) forward of the upright portion 2 of the left waterstop A. In this state, the remaining portion of the right waterstop A, excluding the rear end portion of the first lower engagement step 51, is engaged with the remaining portion of the left waterstop A, excluding the front end portion of the second upper engagement step 42.

Furthermore, the left side portion 52b of the second lower engagement step 52 of the right waterstop A is partially engaged with the portion of the left waterstop A extending from the right end 1a1 of the front edge of the center portion 1a of the bottom 1 to the left end 1c1 of the front edge of the right side portion 1c of the bottom 1.

As described above, at a predetermined connection angle α of the rising parts, the upper and lower engagement steps 4, 5 formed on the bottom 1 of the waterstops A connected to the left and right, and/or the front edge of the bottom of the left waterstop A and the lower engagement step 5 of the right waterstop A are partially engaged, and the right waterstop A is restricted from rotating in a clockwise direction relative to the left waterstop A when viewed from above.

Furthermore, the locking protrusion 21d of the receiving portion 21b of the first connection portion 21 of the left waterstop plate A is engaged from the left side by the locking piece 22e of the locking portion 22b of the second connection portion 22 of the right waterstop plate A, restricting the right waterstop plate A from rotating counterclockwise relative to the left waterstop plate A.

Therefore, in addition to the fixation by the pile members 6 at the first connection portion 21 and the second connection portion 22 of the waterstop plate A, the relative rotational displacement of the left and right waterstop plates A, A is also restricted by the above-mentioned engagement, and the waterstop plates A, A connected in the left-right direction are connected in the left-right direction while reliably maintaining the connection angle α of these upright portions 2, 2, thereby constructing a strong waterstop wall C.

When waterstop plates A, A are connected together in the left-right direction to construct a waterstop wall, the connection angle α of the standing parts 2, 2 of the waterstop plates A, A that are connected in the left-right direction is generally fixed, so the upper and lower engagement steps 4, 5 of the bottom part 1 of the waterstop plate A need only be formed so that the upper and lower engagement steps 4, 5 of the left and right waterstop plates A, A engage with each other, and/or the front edge of the bottom part 1 of one waterstop plate A engages with the lower engagement step 5 of the other waterstop plate A, at the connection angle α of the standing parts 2, 2 that is frequently used.

According to the above waterstop A, a plurality of locking projections 21d are formed at predetermined intervals in the circumferential direction on the annular flange portion 21c of the receiving portion 21b of the first connection portion 21 of the waterstop A, and the locking piece 22e of the locking portion 22b of the second connection portion 22 of another waterstop A can be locked to a desired one of the plurality of locking projections 21d, and the right waterstop A can be connected and integrated with the left waterstop A at the desired connection angle α of the upright portion in a state in which counterclockwise rotation is restricted when viewed from above relative to the left waterstop A.

In this way, with the above waterstop plate A, the left waterstop plate A is placed on the waterstop wall construction surface B, and while the locking portion 22b of the right waterstop plate A is hooked onto the receiving portion 21b of the left waterstop plate A, the right waterstop plate A is rotated around the receiving portion 21b of the left waterstop plate A, and the right waterstop plate A is arranged so that the desired connection angle α of the upright portion is achieved relative to the left waterstop plate A. Then, the pile member 6 is driven into the receiving portion 21b of the left waterstop plate A, thereby fixing the right waterstop plate A to the left waterstop plate A, and the right waterstop plate A can be easily connected and integrated with the left waterstop plate A at the desired connection angle α.

As shown in Figures 2 and 6, an engagement edge 13a of a constant height is provided on the right edge of the upper surface of the bottom 1 of the water stop plate A and protrudes upward along its entire length, while an engagement edge 12a of a constant height is formed on the left edge of the lower surface of the bottom 1 of the water stop plate A and on the front corner of the left part 1b along its entire length.

As shown in FIG. 10, when the locking piece 22e of the locking portion 22b of the second connection portion 22 of the right-side waterstop plate A is engaged with the right-most locking protrusion 21d of the receiving portion 21b of the first connection portion 21 of the left-side waterstop plate A, the engagement edge 13a on the upper surface of the bottom portion 1 of the left-side waterstop plate A engages with the engagement edge 12a on the lower surface of the bottom portion 1 of the right-side waterstop plate A, and the right-side waterstop plate A can be connected and integrated in a state in which counterclockwise rotation is restricted when viewed from above relative to the left-side waterstop plate A.

Then, by connecting the waterstops A and A in the left-right direction in the manner described above, with the right waterstop A being the left waterstop A, and by adjusting the connection angle α of the rising parts of the waterstops A appropriately to the desired angle, the same procedure as described above can be repeated to easily construct a waterstop wall C having the desired shape on the waterstop wall construction surface B in a short time (see Figure 13).

Furthermore, when there is a step in the waterstop-wall construction surface B, as shown in Figures 15 to 17, in the waterstop plates A, A that are connected at the step in the waterstop-wall construction surface B, the first abutment surface 73a of the end member 7 is abutted from behind against the second abutment surface 22a of the second connection portion 22 of the waterstop plate (hereinafter sometimes referred to as the "left-end waterstop plate") A1 that constitutes the left end of the right-side waterstop wall C1 (hereinafter sometimes referred to as the "right-side waterstop wall"). Furthermore, the locking plate portion 22c of the second connection portion 22 of the left-end waterstop A1 is placed on the locking plate portion 73d of the locking portion 73c of the end member 7, and the locking inclined portion 22d of the second connection portion 22 of the left-end waterstop A1 is aligned with the locking inclined portion 73e of the locking portion 73c of the end member 7, so that the locking portion 22b of the second connection portion 22 of the left-end waterstop A1 is freely engaged with the locking portion 73c of the end member 7, and the end member 7 is disposed so that its left side standing portion 72a forms a predetermined angle with respect to the standing portion 2 of the left-end waterstop A1.

In FIG. 16, the end member 7 is arranged so that the base end of the left standing portion 72a of the end member 7 coincides with the left edge of the bottom 1 of the left-end waterstop A1, but the end member 7 may also be arranged so that the left standing portion 72a of the end member 7 is spaced apart from the left edge of the bottom 1 of the left-end waterstop A1.

Furthermore, in the waterstop plates A, A which are connected at a step on the waterstop wall construction surface B, the second abutment surface 73b of the end member 7 is abutted from the front against the first abutment surface 21a of the first connection portion 21 of the waterstop plate (hereinafter sometimes referred to as the "right-end waterstop plate") A2 which constitutes the right end of the left-side waterstop wall C2 (hereinafter sometimes referred to as the "left-side waterstop wall"). Furthermore, the locking plate portion 73d of the locking portion 73c of the end member 7 is placed on the flange portion 21c of the first connection portion 21 of the right-end waterstop A2, and the locking inclined portion 73e of the locking portion 73c of the end member 7 is aligned with the inclined surface 21f of the first connection portion 21 of the right-end waterstop A1, and the locking portion 73c of the end member 7 is locked to the receiving portion 21b of the first connection portion 21 of the right-end waterstop A2. Then, the pile member 6 is driven into the receiving portion 21b of the first connection portion 21 of the right-end waterstop A2, and the end member 7 is disposed and fixed at a specified angle to the right-end waterstop A1.

In FIG. 16, the end member 7 is arranged on the right-end waterstop A2 with the left standing portion 72a of the end member 7 in close contact with the front surface of the standing portion 2 of the right-end waterstop A2. However, the end member 7 may be arranged on the right-end waterstop A2 with the left standing portion 72a of the end member 7 spaced apart from the front surface of the standing portion 2 of the right-end waterstop A2.
