前記第2偏光板と前記第2液晶セルとの間に配置された第3偏光板と、
前記第2液晶セルの背面側に配置された第4偏光板とを備え、
前記第1偏光板、前記第2偏光板、前記第3偏光板及び前記第4偏光板の各々の偏光度を、P1、P2、P3、P4とすると、
P1>P2、P3、P4の関係式、P4>P1、P2、P3の関係式、及び、P1、P4>P2、P3の関係式のいずれかを満たす、
液晶表示装置。 - P1≧99.99%、かつ、99.65%≦P2、P3、P4<99.99%、又は、

請求項1~3のいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記第1偏光板、前記第2偏光板、前記第3偏光板及び前記第4偏光板の各々は、基材と前記基材に積層された偏光子とを含み、
前記第1偏光板の偏光子、前記第2偏光板の偏光子、前記第3偏光板の偏光子及び前記第4偏光板の偏光子の各々の厚みを、d1、d2、d3、d4とすると、
d1、d4>d2、d3の関係式を満たす、
請求項1~4のいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記第1偏光板及び前記第4偏光板は、吸収型偏光板である、
