前記ハンドルアセンブリと、被験体の体液環境に暴露されていた操作可能なシースと、前記被験体の前記体液環境に暴露されていた前記超音波プローブとを提供するステップであって、前記ハンドルアセンブリが、前記操作可能なシースおよび前記超音波プローブと動作可能に連絡しており、前記ハンドルアセンブリが、ユーザが把持することができる外表面を有するハンドル本体と、前記ハンドル本体に対して移動させられるように適合された第1のアクチュエータと、前記ハンドル本体に対して移動させられるように適合された第2のアクチュエータとを含み、前記操作可能なシースは、少なくとも1つの引っ張りワイヤと動作可能に連絡している遠位側偏向可能領域を有し、前記第1のアクチュエータが、前記第1のアクチュエータが前記ハンドル本体に対して作動することによって前記遠位側偏向可能領域を偏向させるようにして、前記引っ張りワイヤと動作可能に連絡しており、前記第2のアクチュエータが、前記ハンドル本体に対して回転させられるように適合されるとともに、前記ハンドル本体に対して軸線方向で移動させられるように適合され、前記第2のアクチュエータが、前記第2のアクチュエータが前記ハンドル本体に対して前記軸線方向で移動することによって前記超音波プローブが前記操作可能なシースの遠位端に対して前記軸線方向で移動するようにして、また前記第2のアクチュエータが前記ハンドル本体に対して回転することによって前記超音波プローブが前記操作可能なシースの前記遠位端に対して回転するようにして、前記超音波プローブと動作可能に連絡している、ステップを含み、
前記超音波プローブが、超音波振動子を含む遠位部分を有し、前記遠位部分が、前記操作可能なシースの前記遠位端よりも更に遠位側に延在するとともに、前記超音波プローブが中に配設される前記操作可能なシースの管腔の寸法よりも大きい外寸を有し、前記超音波プローブが、フレキシブル回路ストリップを更に含み、前記フレキシブル回路ストリップが、絶縁基板と、前記絶縁基板上に配設されるとともに前記絶縁基板に沿って延在する複数の導電性トレースとを備え、前記複数の導電性トレースそれぞれの一部分が絶縁部材によって被覆され、前記複数の導電性トレースの一部分が前記絶縁部材によって被覆されず、前記絶縁部材によって被覆されない前記複数の導電性トレースの前記一部分がプローブ接点を規定し、前記プローブ接点がプリント回路基板上の電気接点に電気的に結合され、
前記プローブ接点を前記プリント回路基板上の前記電気接点から電気的に遮断するステップと、
前記超音波プローブを、前記操作可能なシースの遠位側へと、前記操作可能なシースの前記遠位端から外れるまで移動させるステップと、
前記超音波プローブの少なくとも一部分を洗浄するステップであって、前記一部分が前記超音波プローブの領域を含み、前記領域は、前記移動させるステップの前は前記操作可能なシャフト外まで延在せず、また前記移動させるステップの前は前記ハンドルアセンブリ内に配設されていた領域を任意に含む、ステップと、
前記洗浄するステップ後のある時点で、前記プローブ接点を前記プリント回路基板または別のプリント回路基板のどちらかに電気的に結合するステップとを含む、方法。 - 前記超音波プローブが複数のフレキシブル回路ストリップを備え、前記複数のフレキシブル回路ストリップがそれぞれ、絶縁基板と、前記絶縁基板上に配設されるとともに前記絶縁基板に沿って延在する複数の導電性トレースとを備え、前記複数の導電性トレースそれぞれの一部分が絶縁部材によって被覆され、前記複数の導電性トレースの一部分が前記絶縁部材によって被覆されず、前記絶縁部材によって被覆されない前記複数の導電性トレースの前記一部分がプローブ接点を規定する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記移動させるステップ前のある時点で、前記超音波プローブをハンドルアセンブリ構成要素との解放可能に固定された係合から解放するステップを更に含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記超音波プローブをハンドルアセンブリ構成要素との解放可能に固定された係合から解放するステップが、前記超音波プローブを、前記第2のアクチュエータと直接または間接的に動作可能に連絡している、ハンドルアセンブリ構成要素との解放可能に固定された係合から解放するステップを含む、請求項3に記載の方法。
