Description
ケースの内圧が所定の圧力よりも上昇した場合には、脆弱な箇所を結ぶライン上に亀裂が生じて当該ラインが1つの繋がった切り欠きになる。これにより、ケースの特定の面に所定の形状の圧抜き用開口が形成されるので、異常発生時の水素の燃焼により意図しない箇所が破損するのを防止することができる。また、ケースの特定の面には、圧抜き用開口と比べて総面積がずっと小さい脆弱な箇所を設けるだけなので、ケースの強度が大幅に低下することはない。このため、車両の走行時における振動などに対するケースの耐久性が損なわれることはない。
ケースの面のうち、ケースの外側に配置された構造物と近接した面を特定の面とし、当該特定の面に上記脆弱な箇所を設けると、ケースの内圧が所定の圧力よりも上昇した場合に当該特定の面に所定の形状の圧抜き用開口が形成される。当該特定の面には、ケースの外側に配置された構造物が近接しているので、人の手が届き難い。このため、当該特定の面に所定の形状の圧抜き用開口が形成されても、誤って高電圧部品である燃料電池に手が触れる危険性は極めて少なく、十分に安全性を確保することができる。
ケースの特定の面に形成されるべき圧抜き用開口の形状を矩形とし、ケースの特定の面において、脆弱な箇所が矩形の三辺に沿って形成されると、ケースの内圧が所定の圧力より上昇したときに、脆弱な箇所を結ぶラインに沿ってきちんと亀裂が生じる確率が高くなる。すなわち、ケースの特定の面において、脆弱な箇所が矩形の三辺に沿って形成されると、ケースの内圧が所定の圧力より上昇したときに、設計した通りの位置および形状(矩形)に圧抜き用開口が形成されるようにすることができる。
まず、図1を参照して本実施形態における燃料電池システム1の構成について説明する。図1は、車両10のエンジンフード13内において、本実施の形態にかかる燃料電池システム1が配置された状態の一例を示す模式図である。図2は、図1の矢印Aから見た矢視図である。ここで、X軸正方向は車両10の前方を示し、Y軸正方向は車両10の上方を示し、Z軸正方向は車両10の右方を示す。図1および図2に示すように、燃料電池システム1は、燃料電池2と、燃料電池ケース3と、を備えている。

Claims (2)
- 水素ガスと酸化ガスとの電気化学反応により電力を発生する燃料電池と、前記燃料電池を内部に収容するケースと、を備える燃料電池システムであって、
前記ケースの特定の面において、前記ケースの内圧が所定の圧力よりも上昇した場合に所定の形状の圧抜き用開口が形成されるように、前記ケースの他の箇所よりも強度的に脆弱な箇所が前記所定の形状の輪郭に沿って設けられ、
前記特定の面は、前記ケースの面のうち、前記ケースの外側に配置された構造物と近接した面である、燃料電池システム。 - 前記ケースの特定の面において、前記ケースの内圧が所定の圧力よりも上昇した場合に矩形の圧抜き用開口が形成されるように、前記脆弱な箇所が前記矩形の三辺に沿って設けられた、請求項1に記載の燃料電池システム。
