Description
本発明の実施は、必ずしも、使用する感圧性接着剤組成物の種類に制限されない。言い換えると、膨張可能なグラファイトが分散するか、または他の方法で配置された接着剤組成物を形成する構成要素は、感圧性接着剤組成物を作成するために使用される従来の構成要素を含んでいてもよい。有用な感圧性接着剤に含まれるのは、閾値温度まで加熱すると流動可能なホットメルト接着剤、および接着剤の固体部分が溶媒に溶解または分散した組成物を含む溶媒系接着剤である。
膨張可能なグラファイトは、膨張可能なフレークグラファイト、膨張性フレークグラファイトまたは膨張可能なフレークと呼ばれることもあり、本発明の目的のために、これらの用語は、相互に置き換え可能に使用されてもよい。

1つ以上の実施形態において、本発明の感圧性接着剤組成物は、感圧性接着剤組成物の重量全体を基準として、少なくとも1重量%、他の実施形態において、少なくとも2重量%、他の実施形態において、少なくとも3重量%、他の実施形態において、少なくとも5重量%の膨張可能なグラファイトを含む。これらの実施形態または他の実施形態において、本発明の感圧性接着剤組成物は、感圧性接着剤組成物の重量全体を基準として、最大で35重量%、他の実施形態において、最大で15重量%、他の実施形態において、最大で12重量%の膨張可能なグラファイトを含む。1つ以上の実施形態において、本発明の感圧性接着剤組成物は、感圧性接着剤組成物の重量全体を基準として、約1〜約20重量%、他の実施形態において、約2〜約15重量%、他の実施形態において、約3〜約12重量%の膨張可能なグラファイトを含む。
1つ以上の実施形態において、感圧性接着剤組成物は、一般的に、これらの組成物を作成するための従来の技術を用いることによって調製されてもよい。概して、当業者が理解するように、接着剤組成物の種々の構成要素を高温で導入し、混合してもよい。例えば、構成要素を少なくとも260°F(127℃)、他の実施形態において、少なくとも300°F(149℃)、他の実施形態において、少なくとも320°F(160℃)の温度で混合してもよい。これらの実施形態または他の実施形態において、構成要素を、400°F(204℃)未満、これらの実施形態または他の実施形態において、390°F(199℃)未満、他の実施形態において、380°F(193℃)未満の温度で導入し、混合してもよい。
1つ以上の実施形態において、膨張可能なグラファイトに対し、接着剤層の構造を変えることができる。1つ以上の実施形態において、膨張可能なグラファイトを接着剤全体に分散させる。混合に依存して、膨張可能なグラファイトの分散物は、全体的に均質であってもよい。他の実施形態において、分散の程度は、ランダムであると呼ばれることがある。
1つ以上の実施形態において、膨張可能なグラファイトを含む本発明の感圧性接着剤組成物は、有利には、建設材料と組み合わせて使用される。結果として、感圧性接着剤組成物は、建設材料を基材に接着し得る手段を提供するだけではなく、増加した耐燃性および/または耐延焼性を建設材料に与える。
1つ以上の実施形態において、建設材料は、感圧性接着剤組成物が接着した屋根用膜であり、それによって、膜を別の建築材料(例えば、隣接する膜または基材)に接着させることができる機構を与える。具体的な実施形態において、本発明の感圧性接着剤組成物を、完全に接着したルーフィングシステムとして膜を組み込むことができる様式で膜表面に塗布する。当業者は、完全に接着したルーフィングシステムが、膜が、基材と接触する膜の完全に平らな表面全体に実質的に屋根用基材に接着したこれらのシステムを含むことを理解する。

さらに他の実施形態において、感圧性接着剤を基材に塗布し、改良された耐燃特性および/または耐延焼特性を有する下張り材を作成する。当業者が理解し得るように、これらの下張り材を種々のルーフィングシステム(例えば、金属ルーフシステム)に使用し、増加した耐燃性および/または耐延焼性を与えてもよい。1つ以上の実施形態において、本発明の1つ以上の実施形態に従って調製された下張り材は、ASTM D1970の基準を満たす。
さらに他の実施形態において、本発明は、シートの形態であってもよい接着剤本体の対向する平らな表面の上に剥離ライナーを保有する感圧性テープを提供する。感圧性接着剤本体は、本発明の実施形態に係る膨張可能なグラファイトを含む。1つ以上の実施形態において、膨張可能なグラファイトは、接着剤本体全体に分散していてもよい。他の実施形態において、膨張可能なグラファイトは、接着剤本体の中の層または領域内に濃縮していてもよい。さらに他の実施形態において、膨張可能なグラファイトは、接着剤本体全体に分散し、濃縮した量の膨張可能なグラファイトを含む領域または本体の中に位置していてもよい。
