Description
本願は、米国特許法第119条(e)項に基づき2011年6月9日付で出願された米国仮特許出願第61/495,196号(その全体が引用することにより本明細書の一部をなすものとする)に対する優先権を主張するものである。
本発明は、エネルギー省(NETL)により授与された契約番号DE−NT0005578の下で政府の支援を受けて為されたものである。政府は本発明に或る一定の権利を有する。
Claims (10)
- ガス流から二酸化炭素(CO2)を連続的に除去する方法であって、
除去対象の前記二酸化炭素を含む前記ガス流を準備することと、
前記ガス流が上昇するにつれて、前記二酸化炭素を該ガス流から、リアクタの吸着部の構造化充填材を落下する、CO2選択性を備える炭素系吸着剤のマイクロビーズへと吸着させることと、
前記リアクタの移行部において前記炭素系吸着剤のマイクロビーズから他の成分を除去することと、
前記リアクタの蒸留部において前記炭素系吸着剤のマイクロビーズを蒸気で直接加熱して、除去対象の前記二酸化炭素を脱着させることと、
前記リアクタの前記蒸留部において除去対象の前記二酸化炭素が除去された後に、前記炭素系吸着剤のマイクロビーズを空気で直接冷却することと、
前記リアクタの前記吸着部へと前記炭素系吸着剤のマイクロビーズを再循環させることと、
を含む、方法。 - 前記炭素系吸着剤が球状粒物質を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記炭素系吸着剤が、1気圧のCO2 でおよそ20重量%のCO2容量および他の排ガス成分を上回る良好なCO 2 選択性を有する改良型炭素吸着剤(ACS)を含む、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記ガス流1キログラム(kg)当たりおよそ1kg〜5kgの前記炭素系吸着剤を添加する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記吸着部における滞留時間がおよそ6秒〜10秒になるような速度で前記炭素系吸着剤を落下させるとともに、前記ガスを供給する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記炭素系吸着剤を、およそ1バールの蒸気を用いて前記蒸留部において少なくとも摂氏110度(℃)に加熱する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 準備、吸着、加熱及び冷却を連続的に行う、請求項1に記載の方法。
- ガス流から二酸化炭素を連続的に除去するリアクタであって、
前記ガス流が上方へと送出される一方で、該ガス流から前記二酸化炭素を除去する、CO2選択性を備える炭素系吸着剤のマイクロビーズが落下する構造化充填材を有する吸着部と、
前記炭素系吸着剤のマイクロビーズから他の成分を除去する、前記吸着部と接続された移行部と、
前記炭素系吸着剤のマイクロビーズを蒸気で直接加熱して、該炭素系吸着剤から前記二酸化炭素を除去する、および、該二酸化炭素が除去された後の前記炭素系吸着剤を空気で直接冷却する、前記移行部と接続された蒸留部と、
前記蒸留部から前記吸着部へと前記炭素系吸着剤のマイクロビーズを還送する、前記蒸留部および前記吸着部と接続された手段と、
を備える、リアクタ。 - 前記炭素系吸着剤が、1気圧のCO2 でおよそ20重量%のCO2容量および他の排ガス成分を上回る良好なCO 2 選択性を有する改良型炭素吸着剤(ACS)を含む、請求項8に記載のリアクタ。
- 前記蒸留部が、前記炭素系吸着剤をおよそ1バールの蒸気で少なくとも摂氏110度(℃)に加熱する、請求項8に記載のリアクタ。
