Description
液晶表示装置1の構造について図4と図5に基づいて説明する。
次に、液晶表示装置1の製造方法について順番に説明する。
本実施形態によれば、光学フィルム20の角部に切り欠き部分6を設けることにより、対向基板14の角部が光学フィルム20によって覆われることがなく、液晶セル2の角部とバックライト3の角部との位置合わせを正確に行うことができる。そのため、液晶セル2とバックライト3とを組み合わせた場合に、光漏れなどが起こることがない。
上記実施形態では、長方形状の光学フィルム20の角部を一か所だけ切り欠いたが、より正確に位置合わせを行うために相対向する部分の角部や、隣接する角部に切り欠き部分6を設けて、複数箇所で位置合わせを行うようにしてもよい。
Claims (3)
- アレイ基板と対向基板とを貼り合わせて液晶セルを形成し、
前記アレイ基板と前記対向基板との間に液晶を注入し、
前記液晶セルのアレイ基板又は対向基板の表面に、少なくとも一つの角部が切り欠かれた切り欠き部分を有する光学フィルムを貼り合わせ、
前記光学フィルムの前記切り欠き部分において、前記液晶セルの角部とバックライトの角部との位置合わせを行い、
前記バックライトを前記液晶セルに重ねて取り付ける、
液晶表示装置の製造方法。 - 前記対向基板の上方から前記切り欠き部分を通して、前記液晶セルの角部と前記バックライトの角部との位置合わせを行う、
請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置の製造方法。 - 前記光学フィルムが、偏光板又は位相差板である、
請求項1又は2に記載の液晶表示装置の製造方法。
