Claims (2)
- クランク軸に取付けられた駆動スプロケットとカム軸に取付けられた従動スプロケット間にタイミングチェーンを掛け渡し、そのタイミングチェーンの弛み側チェーンの一側部に、タイミングチェーンの移動を案内する複数の回転可能なローラをタイミングチェーンの移動方向に間隔をおいて保持する揺動可能なチェーンガイドを設け、そのチェーンガイドの揺動側端部にチェーンテンショナの調整力を負荷して前記ローラをタイミングチェーンに押し付けるようにしたカム軸駆動用のチェーン伝動装置において、
前記駆動スプロケットのピッチ円直径D1に対する前記ローラの外径D2の比(D1/D2)を5/3〜5/1の範囲とし、
前記ローラは、厚さが1mm〜3mmの厚手の金属板を絞り成形して形成されるとともに両端部に内向き鍔を有するシェル形外輪と、その外輪の内側に組み込まれた複数のころと、そのころを保持する保持器とからなるころ軸受であり、
前記シェル形外輪が、前記タイミングチェーンに直接接触して案内することを特徴とするカム軸駆動用のチェーン伝動装置。 - 前記タイミングチェーンの張り側チェーンの一側方に、前記チェーンガイドと同一の構成からなる固定配置のチェーンガイドを設けた請求項1に記載のカム軸駆動用のチェーン伝動装置。
