Description
Claims (8)
- 行および列に配置された画素セルを含む発光ディスプレイであって、前記画素セルは発光手段および直列接続された電流制御手段を含み、前記電流制御手段が前記発光手段を流れる電流を制御し、前記画素セルの各々はそれぞれ第1のスイッチをさらに含み、該第1のスイッチが、それぞれの電流制御手段の制御端子を、該第1のスイッチが閉じたときに電流のプログラミングをする第1のデータ線に選択的に接続し、前記画素セルの各々は第2のスイッチをさらに含み、該第2のスイッチが、第2のデータ線を介して、前記電流制御手段に流れる電流を測定するための手段に、前記電流制御手段の導電端子を接続しており、
第1の列の第2の行にある画素セルの前記第1のスイッチと、該第2の行に隣接する、前記第1の列の第1の行にある画素セルの前記第2のスイッチとが、該第1の行の前記画素セルが測定のために接続されている間は該第2の行の前記画素セルがプログラミングのために接続されるように、共通制御線に接続されており、
かつ、該第2の行は次の隣接行に対しては第1の行となる、前記発光ディスプレイ。 - 前記第1と前記第2のデータ線を1本のデータ線に統合している、請求項1に記載の発光ディスプレイ。
- 前記電流制御手段および前記発光手段を供給電圧に対して切替可能に接続するために、第3のスイッチを前記発光手段および前記電流制御手段に直列に接続している、請求項1または2に記載の発光ディスプレイ。
- 画素セルの前記第3のスイッチが、同じ画素セルのそれぞれの第2のスイッチの制御線と同じ制御線によって制御されており、前記スイッチング信号を反転させるインバータを備えているか、または前記スイッチの応答特性が前記第2のスイッチに比べて反転されている、請求項3に記載の発光ディスプレイ。
- 電流測定手段が複数列の複数の第2のデータ線のうちの1つに選択的に接続される、請求項1に記載の発光ディスプレイ。
- プログラミングおよび測定のサイクル中における発光ディスプレイの駆動方法であって、該発光ディスプレイは、行および列に配置された画素セルを含み、前記画素セルは発光手段および直列接続された電流制御手段を含み、前記電流制御手段が前記発光手段を流れる電流を制御し、前記画素セルの各々はそれぞれ第1のスイッチをさらに含み、該第1のスイッチが、それぞれの電流制御手段の制御端子を、該第1のスイッチが閉じたときに電流のプログラミングをする第1のデータ線に選択的に接続し、前記画素セルの各々は第2のスイッチをさらに含み、該第2のスイッチが、第2のデータ線を介して、前記電流制御手段に流れる電流を測定するための手段に、前記電流制御手段の導電端子を接続しており、第1の列の第2の行にある画素セルの前記第1のスイッチと、該第2の行に隣接する、前記第1の列の第1の行にある画素セルの前記第2のスイッチとが、該第1の行の前記画素セルが測定のために接続されている間は該第2の行の前記画素セルがプログラミングのために接続されるように、共通制御線に接続されており、かつ、該第2の行は次の隣接行に対しては第1の行となり、前記方法は、
前記共通制御線に制御信号を印加することにより、第1の行に配置された画素セルの前記第2のスイッチおよび第2の行に配置された画素セルの前記第1のスイッチを閉じるステップと、
第2の行の前記電流制御手段に流れる電流をプログラミングするために前記第1のデータ線にプログラミング信号を印加するステップと、
前記第2のデータ線を介して第1の行の前記発光手段に流れる電流であって、前もってプログラミングされている、前記電流を測定するステップと、
前記第1と前記第2のスイッチを開くステップと
を含む、前記方法。 - プログラミングおよび測定のサイクル中における発光ディスプレイの駆動方法であって、該発光ディスプレイは、行および列に配置された画素セルを含み、前記画素セルは発光手段および直列接続された電流制御手段を含み、前記電流制御手段が前記発光手段を流れる電流を制御し、前記画素セルの各々はそれぞれ第1のスイッチをさらに含み、該第1のスイッチが、それぞれの電流制御手段の制御端子を、該第1のスイッチが閉じたときに電流のプログラミングをする第1のデータ線に選択的に接続し、前記画素セルの各々は第2のスイッチをさらに含み、該第2のスイッチが、前記第1のデータ線を介して、前記電流制御手段に流れる電流を測定するための手段に、前記電流制御手段の導電端子を接続しており、第1の列の第2の行にある画素セルの前記第1のスイッチと、該第2の行に隣接する、第1の列の第1の行にある画素セルの前記第2のスイッチとが、該第1の行の前記画素セルが測定のために接続されている間は該第2の行の前記画素セルがプログラミングのために接続されるように、共通制御線に接続されており、かつ、該第2の行は次の隣接行に対しては第1の行となり、前記方法は、
前記共通制御線に制御信号を印加することにより、第1の行に配置された画素セルの前記第2のスイッチおよび第2の行に配置された画素セルの前記第1のスイッチを閉じるステップと、
前記第2の行の前記電流制御手段に流れる電流をプログラミングするために、前記第1のデータ線にプログラミング信号を印加するステップと、
前記第1のデータ線を介して前記第1の行の前記発光手段に流れる前もってプログラミングされている前記電流を測定するステップと、
前記第1と前記第2のスイッチを開くステップと
を含む、前記方法。 - 前記電流は、前記電流制御手段をプログラミングすることに関連する過渡電流が安定した後でのみ測定される、請求項6または7に記載の方法。
