Description
Claims (7)
- 長手軸(16)を有する回転式切削工具(10)であって、
シャンク部(12)と、
前記シャンク部から切削部先端(15)に延び、刃長と、前記刃長に沿って延び不均等に間隔をあけた溝(20)によって分離された複数の刃(18)とを有する切削部(14)であって、各刃は、前面、後面、前記前面と前記後面との間に延びるランド面、および前記前面と前記ランド面との間の交差部にある切れ刃を含む、切削部(14)と、
前記刃長に沿って延びるチップブレーカパターン(32)で各刃の前記ランド面に配置された複数の切り屑破断部(34)と、を有する回転式切削工具であって、
各切り屑破断部は、小半径部(R1)、大半径部(R2)、およびそれらの間のつなぎ半径部(R3)によって形成され、前記つなぎ半径部(R3)は前記大半径部より半径が短く、
前記チップブレーカパターンが、1つの刃の前記ランド面に配置された前記切り屑破断部が、直接隣接する刃の前記ランド面に配置された前記切り屑破断部間に配置される、回転式切削工具。 - 前記小半径部は、前記大半径部よりも前記切削部先端に近い、請求項1に記載の回転式切削工具。
- 各溝の深さ(D)は、前記長手軸沿いに前記切削部先端から前記シャンク部に向かって変化する、請求項1又は請求項2に記載の回転式切削工具。
- 各溝の前記深さは、前記切削部先端に近い方が深い、請求項3に記載の回転式切削工具。
- 各刃は、前記長手軸に対して約30°〜約45°の螺旋角(30)を形成する、請求項1から請求項4のいずれか1項に記載の回転式切削工具。
- 前記チップブレーカパターンは、前記複数の刃のうちの第1の刃に対して、前記切削部先端から第1の距離(d1)で始まり、前記チップブレーカパターンは、前記複数の刃のうちの1つおきの各刃に対して、前記第1の距離で繰り返され、および、前記チップブレーカパターンは、前記複数の刃のうちの第2の刃に対して、前記切削部先端から第2の異なる距離(d2)で始まり、前記チップブレーカパターンは、前記複数の刃のうちの1つおきの各刃に対して、前記第2の距離で繰り返される、請求項1から請求項5のいずれか1項に記載の回転式切削工具。
- 前記切り屑破断部は互いから等距離にある、請求項1から請求項6のいずれか1項に記載の回転式切削工具。
