Description
本発明は、これらの諸問題に着目してなされたものであり、ダンピング抵抗による電力損失を低減することが可能な液体噴射装置及び液体噴射型印刷装置を提供することを目的とするものである。
この液体噴射装置によれば、例えば駆動されるアクチュエータの数に応じて変化する、変調回路、デジタル電力増幅回路、平滑フィルタ、アクチュエータの静電容量、及び補償器で構成される閉ループの周波数特性を、逆フィルタにより、所定の周波数領域で一定となるように補正することにより、駆動信号の精度を確保することができる。
また、本発明の液体噴射型印刷装置は、前記液体噴射装置を用いたことを特徴とするものである。
図1は、第1実施形態の液体噴射型印刷装置の概略構成図であり、図1において、印刷媒体1は、図の左から右に向けて矢印方向に搬送され、その搬送途中の印刷領域で印刷される、ラインヘッド型印刷装置である。
駆動波形信号WCOMをパルス変調する変調回路26には、図7に示すように、周知のパルス幅変調(PWM:Pulse Width Modulation)回路を用いた。パルス幅変調は、所定周波数の三角波信号を出力する三角波発振器34と、三角波信号と駆動波形信号WCOMを比較し、例えば駆動波形信号WCOMが三角波信号より大きいときにオンデューティとなるパルスデューティの変調信号PWMを出力する比較部35とを備えて構成される。
なお、前記駆動波形信号発生回路25も、減算器である加減算器31も、変調回路26も、プログラムによる演算処理によって構成することができる。また、変調回路26には、この他にパルス密度変調(PDM)回路などの周知のパルス変調回路を用いることができる。
補償器32は、図10に示すように、1つのコンデンサC1と1つの抵抗Rから構成され、駆動信号COMの位相を進めて負帰還信号CPSTを出力するハイパスフィルタで構成される。なお、この補償器32の抵抗Rを大きな抵抗値のものとすることで、抵抗Rに流れる電流値を小さくすることができ、電力損失を低減することができる。
第2実施形態におけるアクチュエータ駆動回路のうち、加減算器31、変調回路26、デジタル電力増幅回路28、平滑フィルタ29、アクチュエータ22の静電容量、及び補償器32による閉ループを図15に示す。逆フィルタ23の伝達特性をcとする。逆フィルタ23を含む系全体の伝達特性G0は、下記2式で表れる。
なお、前記実施形態では、本発明の液体噴射装置をラインヘッド型の液体噴射型印刷装置に用いた場合についてのみ詳述したが、本発明の液体噴射装置は、マルチパス型の液体噴射型印刷装置にも同様に適用可能である。
Claims (7)
- 駆動波形信号を発生する駆動波形信号発生回路と、
駆動されるアクチュエータの数に応じて、演算処理によって周波数特性を変更することにより、前記駆動波形信号の周波数特性を変更する逆フィルタと、
前記駆動波形信号をパルス変調して変調信号を出力する変調回路と、
前記変調信号を電力増幅して電力増幅変調信号を出力するデジタル電力増幅回路と、
前記電力増幅変調信号を平滑化して駆動信号を出力する平滑フィルタと、
前記駆動信号の位相を進めて負帰還信号を出力する補償器と、
前記駆動波形信号から前記負帰還信号を減じた差分信号を、前記変調回路に入力する減算器と、
を備えたことを特徴とする液体噴射装置。 - 請求項1に記載の液体噴射装置であって、
前記逆フィルタは、駆動される前記アクチュエータの数が所定の数より大きいとき、前記駆動波形信号の減衰開始周波数を高くすることを特徴とする液体噴射装置。 - 請求項1又は請求項2に記載の液体噴射装置であって、
前記逆フィルタは、前記変調回路、前記デジタル電力増幅回路、前記平滑フィルタ、前記アクチュエータの静電容量、及び前記補償器で構成される閉ループの周波数特性が、所定の周波数領域で一定となるように補正することを特徴とする液体噴射装置。 - 請求項1から請求項3の何れか一項に記載の液体噴射装置であって、
前記逆フィルタは、ハイパスフィルタを有し、駆動される前記アクチュエータの数に応じて、前記ハイパスフィルタのゲインが制御されることを特徴とする液体噴射装置。 - 請求項3に記載の液体噴射装置であって、
前記補償器の伝達特性は、前記閉ループの伝達特性が、所定の減衰開始周波数まで一定となるように設定されたことを特徴とする液体噴射装置。 - 請求項1から請求項5の何れか一項に記載の液体噴射装置を用いた印刷装置。
- 請求項1から請求項5の何れか一項に記載の液体噴射装置を用いた手術具。
