Claims (20)
- ハブとスピンドルの軸受組立体に使用される静電放電装置であって、該静電放電装置が、
前記ハブに電気的に連通するような配置で構成された導電性材料から少なくとも一部が形成され、導電性流体を保持するように構成されたチャンバを画定するカプセルにして、該カプセルに形成された第1の開口に流体連通する少なくとも1つの毛細管チャネルを画定するカプセルを有し、前記第1の開口が、前記スピンドルの周りでの回転を許すように、また、前記ハブが前記スピンドルの周りで回転する際に、前記開口の近くに前記導電性流体によって形成されたメニスカスが前記スピンドルに電気的に接触するのを許すように構成されている静電放電装置。 - 前記カプセル内に、前記チャンバを前記導電性流体で満たすように構成された第2の開口をさらに有する、請求項1に記載の静電放電装置。
- 前記少なくとも1つの毛細管チャネルが、放射状に構成されている、請求項1に記載の静電放電装置。
- 前記少なくとも1つの毛細管チャネルが、螺旋状に構成されている、請求項1に記載の静電放電装置。
- 前記少なくとも1つの毛細管チャネルが、前記第1の開口に向かって幅が狭くなるように構成されている、請求項1に記載の静電放電装置。
- 前記少なくとも1つの毛細管チャネルが、導電性流体を中に含んでいる、請求項1に記載の静電放電装置。
- 前記導電性流体が、非導電性の潤滑剤と、導電性、非金属性、非磁性の添加物とを含む、請求項6に記載の静電放電装置。
- 前記カプセルの少なくとも一部分が前記ハブと一体化されている、請求項1に記載の静電放電装置。
- 前記カプセルが、開放中央部を有する少なくとも部分的な環状体として構成され、前記第1の開口が、前記少なくとも部分的な環状体の前記開放中央部を画定している、請求項1に記載の静電放電装置。
- スピンドルと、
前記スピンドルに回転可能に取り付けられたハブと、
前記ハブに電気的に連通するような配置で構成された導電性材料から少なくとも一部が形成され、導電性流体を保持するように構成されたチャンバを画定するカプセルにして、該カプセルに形成された第1の開口に流体連通する少なくとも1つの毛細管チャネルを画定するカプセルとを有し、
前記第1の開口が、前記スピンドルの周りでの回転を許すように、また、前記ハブが前記スピンドルの周りで回転する際に、前記第1の開口の近くに前記導電性流体によって形成されたメニスカスが前記スピンドルに電気的に接触するのを許すように構成されている、ディスク・ドライブの記憶システム。 - 前記カプセル内に、前記チャンバを前記導電性流体で満たすように構成された第2の開口をさらに有する、請求項10に記載の記憶システム。
- 前記少なくとも1つの毛細管チャネルが、放射状に構成されている、請求項10に記載の記憶システム。
- 前記少なくとも1つの毛細管チャネルが、螺旋状に構成されている、請求項10に記載の記憶システム。
- 前記少なくとも1つの毛細管チャネルが、前記第1の開口に向かって幅が狭くなるように構成されている、請求項10に記載の記憶システム。
- 前記少なくとも1つの毛細管チャネルが、導電性流体を中に含んでいる、請求項10に記載の記憶システム。
- 前記導電性流体が、非導電性の潤滑剤と、導電性、非金属性、非磁性の添加物とを含む、請求項15に記載の記憶システム。
- 前記カプセルの少なくとも一部分が前記ハブと一体化されている、請求項10に記載の記憶システム。
- 前記カプセルが、開放中央部を有する少なくとも部分的な環状体として構成され、前記第1の開口が、前記少なくとも部分的な環状体の前記開放中央部を画定している、請求項10に記載の記憶システム。
- スピンドルとハブの軸受組立体を有するディスク・ドライブの記憶システム内での静電荷の蓄積を阻止する方法であって、
カプセルの少なくとも一部を導電性材料から形成する工程を有し、
前記カプセルは、導電性流体を保持するように構成されたチャンバを画定するとともに、前記カプセルに形成された開口に流体連通する少なくとも1つの毛細管チャネルを画定するように構成され、
前記方法は、
前記開口を前記スピンドルの周りに回転させる工程と、
前記ハブが前記スピンドルの周りで回転する際に、前記ハブを前記カプセルに電気的に接触させるとともに、前記導電性流体によって前記開口の近くに形成されたメニスカスを前記スピンドルに電気的に接触させる工程とをさらに有する、静電荷の蓄積を阻止する方法。 - 前記導電性流体が、非導電性の潤滑剤と、導電性、非金属性、非磁性の添加物とを有する、請求項19に記載の静電荷の蓄積を阻止する方法。
