Description
図1は本実施形態のディーゼルエンジンの排気浄化装置を示す全体構成図であり、エンジン1は直列6気筒機関として構成されている。エンジン1の各気筒には燃料噴射弁2が設けられ、各燃料噴射弁2は共通のコモンレール3から加圧燃料を供給され、機関の運転状態に応じたタイミングで開弁して各気筒の筒内に燃料を噴射する。
また、温度検出端26aは、排ガスの流通方向においてベース板19の表面から距離Hだけ離間して位置している。また、温度検出端26aは、ミキシング室13の周方向(各フィン20の列設方向)において上記特定フィン20aに隣接するフィン20を支持する連結部21の直上に位置している。
ここで、フィン装置18の前後での排ガスの流通状態を確認すると、フィン装置18の前後のミキシング室13内の通路断面積に比較して、フィン装置18の8箇所の流通孔23の総開口面積は遥かに狭く、排ガスはフィン装置18の各流通孔23で絞られて増速し、その直後に上記のようにフィン角度に倣って流通方向を変更されることでも増速する。一方、上記のようにミキシング室13内のフィン装置18より下流側では尿素水溶液が噴霧状態で充満しているが、ミキシング室13のフィン装置18より上流側は排ガスのみで尿素水溶液は含まれていない。従って、フィン装置18の流通孔23には尿素水溶液を含まない排ガスが流通し、図3に破線で示すように流通孔23から排ガスが高流速で噴出することにより、フィン装置18の下流側においても流通孔23の近傍では、尿素水溶液をほとんど含まない排ガスが常に存在する領域(以下、付着抑制領域と称する)が形成されることになる。
加えて、温度センサ26の温度検出端26aへの尿素水溶液の付着を防止するには、温度センサ26をフィン装置18の上流側に移設する対策もあるが、この場合には、DPF15とフィン装置18との間に温度センサ26の設置スペースを確保する必要が生じることから、排気浄化装置を大型化させてしまう上に、劣化したDPF15の交換時には同時に温度センサ26を脱着する必要が生じるため、メンテナンス上の制約も生じる。本実施形態では、温度センサ26を上流側に移設することなく尿素水溶液の付着を防止できるため、結果として上記不具合を未然に回避できるという利点も得られる。

Claims (1)
- 内燃機関の排気通路に設けられ、添加剤の供給により上記内燃機関の排ガスを浄化する触媒装置と、
上記排気通路の上記触媒装置の上流側に設けられ、上記排気通路内を上流側と下流側とに区画するようにベース板を配設し、該ベース板を打ち抜いて一側の境界線を起点として下流側に起立する複数のフィンを環状に列設し、各フィンの起立により上記ベース板上に開口した流通孔を経て上流側から下流側へと排ガスを流通させながら各フィンにより流通方向を変更して下流側の排気通路内に旋回流を生起するように構成された撹拌手段と、
上記排気通路の上記撹拌手段の下流側に設けられて該排気通路内に添加剤を噴射する添加剤噴射手段と、
上記排気通路の上記撹拌手段の下流側に設けられて排ガス温度を検出する温度検出手段と、
上記温度検出手段により検出された排ガス温度に基づいて上記添加剤噴射手段を制御する制御手段と
を備えた内燃機関の排気浄化装置において、
上記温度検出手段の温度検出端は、上記撹拌手段の予め定められた特定フィンの流通孔近傍で、該撹拌手段を排ガスが流通して流通方向の変更に伴って増速する領域内に配設され、排ガス流通方向において、上記特定フィンの先端とベース板との間で、且つ、各フィンの列設方向において、上記特定フィンの先端と隣接するフィンの基端との間に位置することを特徴とする内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
