Description
セル隔壁の流入側セル側表面に形成された流入側触媒層と、流出側セル側表面に形成された流出側触媒層と、セル隔壁中の細孔に形成された細孔触媒層と、よりなる排ガス浄化フィルタであって、
流出側触媒層には流入側触媒層における貴金属濃度以上の濃度で貴金属が含まれ、
流入側触媒層、細孔触媒層及び流出側触媒層にはアルカリ金属及びアルカリ土類金属から選ばれるNOx 吸蔵材が含まれ、NOx 吸蔵材の含有量は流入側触媒層が流出側触媒層より多いことにある。
乾燥工程は、流入側セルから流出側セルへ向かって熱風を送風して行うことにある。
図1及び図2に本実施例の排ガス浄化フィルタの模式図を示す。この排ガス浄化フィルタは、排ガス下流側で目詰めされた流入側セル10と、流入側セル10に隣接し排ガス上流側で目詰めされた流出側セル11と、流入側セル10と流出側セル11を区画するセル隔壁12と、からなるフィルタ基材1を基材とする。セル隔壁12内部には、流入側セル10と流出側セル11に連通する細孔13が形成されている。
コージェライト製のフィルタ基材に代えて、直径 130mm、長さ 150mmの活性アルミナ製のフィルタ基材(12mil/300cpsi )を用いたこと以外は実施例1と同様にして、実施例2の排ガス浄化フィルタを調製した。
実施例1と同様にして、コート層が形成されたフィルタ基材1に各貴金属を実施例1と同量担持した。次に、酢酸バリウム、酢酸カリウム、酢酸リチウムが所定濃度で溶解した混合水溶液を用意し、貴金属が担持された上記フィルタ基材1を2分間浸漬し、引き上げて余分な水溶液を吹き払った後、マイクロウェーブ乾燥機内で乾燥させ、 600℃で2時間空気中で焼成した。これによりコート層には、全体の合計値でフィルタ基材1の1リットルあたりBa(バリウム)が 0.2モル、K(カリウム)が 0.4モル、Li(リチウム)が 0.4モル担持された。
コージェライト製のフィルタ基材に代えて、実施例2と同様のフィルタ基材を用いたこと以外は比較例1と同様にして、比較例2の排ガス浄化フィルタを調製した。
実施例及び比較例の排ガス浄化フィルタを直径30mm、長さ50mm(35cc)のテストピ−スに切り出し、評価装置にそれぞれ配置した。そして、表1に示すリーンガスを55秒間流通させた後にリッチガスを5秒間流通させるのを交互に繰り返し、その後リーンに切り替えた後のNOx 吸蔵量を測定した。触媒床温度は 300℃と 450℃の2水準で行い、ガス流量はそれぞれ20L/分である。結果を比較例1のNOx 吸蔵量に対する相対比率として表2に示す。

Claims (6)
- 排ガス下流側で目詰めされた流入側セルと、該流入側セルに隣接し排ガス上流側で目詰めされた流出側セルと、該流入側セルと該流出側セルを区画し多数の細孔を有する多孔質のセル隔壁とを有するウォールフロー構造のフィルタ基材と、
該セル隔壁の該流入側セル側表面に形成された流入側触媒層と、該流出側セル側表面に形成された流出側触媒層と、該セル隔壁中の細孔に形成された細孔触媒層と、よりなる排ガス浄化フィルタであって、
該流出側触媒層には該流入側触媒層における貴金属濃度以上の濃度で貴金属が含まれ、
該流入側触媒層、該細孔触媒層及び該流出側触媒層にはアルカリ金属及びアルカリ土類金属から選ばれるNOx 吸蔵材が含まれ、該NOx 吸蔵材の含有量は該流入側触媒層が該流出側触媒層より多いことを特徴とする排ガス浄化フィルタ。 - 前記NOx 吸蔵材の含有量は、前記流入側触媒層から前記細孔触媒層、前記流出側触媒層に向かって低下している請求項1に記載の排ガス浄化フィルタ。
- 前記流入側触媒層にはフィルタ基材の容積1リットルあたり 0.2モル〜 1.0モルの前記NOx 吸蔵材を含有し、前記流出側触媒層にはフィルタ基材の容積1リットルあたり0.01モル〜 0.3モルの前記NOx 吸蔵材を含有する請求項1又は請求項2に記載の排ガス浄化フィルタ。
- 前記流入側触媒層におけるNOx 吸蔵材はカリウムを含む請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の排ガス浄化フィルタ。
- 請求項1〜4に記載のいずれかの排ガス浄化フィルタを製造する方法であって、前記セル隔壁の前記流入側セル側表面、前記流出側セル側表面及び前記細孔に多孔質酸化物よりなるコート層を形成するコート層形成工程と、該コート層に貴金属を担持する工程と、該コート層にアルカリ金属及びアルカリ土類金属から選ばれる元素のイオンが溶解した溶液を含浸させた後に乾燥する乾燥工程とを含み、
該乾燥工程は、前記流入側セルから前記流出側セルへ向かって熱風を送風して行うことを特徴とする排ガス浄化フィルタの製造方法。 - 前記熱風の温度は80℃〜 130℃である請求項5に記載の排ガス浄化フィルタの製造方法。
