Claims (11)
- 電解質をアノード電極とカソード電極とで挟んで構成される電解質・電極接合体が、セパレータと該セパレータとは別のセパレータとの間に挟持されて積層される燃料電池であって、
前記セパレータの一方の面に設けられ、前記アノード電極の電極面中央部から前記アノード電極の電極面外周部に沿って燃料ガスを連続して供給するための燃料ガス通路と、
前記セパレータの他方の面に設けられ、前記カソード電極の電極面に沿って酸化剤ガスを供給するための酸化剤ガス通路と、
前記セパレータに設けられ、使用前の燃料ガスを前記燃料ガス通路に導入するための燃料ガス導入口と、
前記セパレータの他方の面に設けられ、前記燃料ガス導入口に前記燃料ガスを供給する燃料ガス供給通路が形成される燃料ガス通路部材と、
を備え、
前記燃料ガス通路は、溝部と凸状部とが前記アノード電極の前記電極面外周部に向かって交互に設けられるとともに、
前記凸状部を挟んで互いに隣接する各溝部の溝幅寸法は、前記電極面外周部に向かって逓増し、
且つ、前記凸状部の表面積と、該凸状部の内周側に隣接する前記溝部の開口面積とを、前記アノード電極の電極面全面にわたって等しく設定したことを特徴とする燃料電池。 - 請求項1記載の燃料電池において、前記凸状部を挟んで互いに隣接する前記溝部のリーク率は、前記アノード電極の電極面全面にわたって等しく設定されることを特徴とする燃料電池。
- 請求項1又は2記載の燃料電池において、前記燃料ガス導入口は、前記アノード電極の電極面中央部に対応して設定されることを特徴とする燃料電池。
- 請求項3記載の燃料電池において、前記溝部は、前記燃料ガス導入口を中心とする複数のリング状通路溝と、
互いに隣接する前記リング状通路溝同士を連通する連通路と、
を有することを特徴とする燃料電池。 - 請求項3記載の燃料電池において、前記溝部は、前記燃料ガス導入口を中心とする連続した渦巻き状通路溝で構成されることを特徴とする燃料電池。
- 請求項3記載の燃料電池において、前記溝部は、前記燃料ガス導入口から分岐して前記電極面外周部に向かって蛇行する複数のサーペンタイン状通路溝で構成されることを特徴とする燃料電池。
- 請求項1記載の燃料電池において、前記酸化剤ガス通路は、前記セパレータの他方の面に配設されて前記カソード電極に密着する変形可能な弾性通路部により形成されることを特徴とする燃料電池。
- 請求項7記載の燃料電池において、前記弾性通路部が設けられる範囲は、前記アノード電極の発電領域よりも小さな領域に設定されることを特徴とする燃料電池。
- 請求項8記載の燃料電池において、前記弾性通路部は、導電金属製のメッシュ部材で構成されることを特徴とする燃料電池。
- 請求項1記載の燃料電池において、前記酸化剤ガス通路は、前記セパレータの他方の面に設けられる複数の突起部により形成されることを特徴とする燃料電池。
- 請求項10記載の燃料電池において、前記突起部は、エッチングにより前記セパレータの一方の面に形成される複数の中実部で構成されることを特徴とする燃料電池。
