Description
また、LEDまたはELランプは、部分輝度の制御が可能で、高色再現の実現が可能であるという利点があるが、冷陰極蛍光ランプに比べて輝度及び輝度の均一性が低いという問題があった。
また、本発明は、高輝度及び高色再現を実現し得る液晶表示装置を提供することを目的とする。
このように、前記第1ランプ128を緑色光にするのは、白色光を発生させる蛍光ランプが緑色波長帯で色再現が最も高いからである。

Claims (12)
- 緑色光を発生させる受動発光型ランプ、及び赤色光、青色光を発生させる自発光型ランプから構成された発光部と、
前記受動発光型ランプと前記自発光型ランプの間に備えられ、前記自発光型ランプから発光した赤色光と青色光を混合して上部に導く導光板と、
前記自発光型ランプの下部に設けられた反射板と、
前記受動発光型ランプの上部に設けられた光散乱手段とを含み、
前記受動発光型ランプが、冷陰極蛍光ランプ又は熱陰極蛍光ランプであり、
前記自発光型ランプが、EL又はLEDである
ことを特徴とする液晶表示装置のバックライトユニット。 - 前記自発光型ランプの上部に形成されて、前記自発光型ランプから垂直に入射する光を側面に散乱させるダイバータをさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置のバックライトユニット。
- 前記ダイバータが、前記自発光型ランプと対応する前記導光板の下面に形成されることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の液晶表示装置のバックライトユニット。
- 前記光散乱手段は、
前記受動発光型ランプ及び前記自発光型ランプから入射する光を分散させる拡散板と、
前記拡散板の上部に透過して反射される光の正面輝度を向上させるプリズムシートと、
前記プリズムシートの上部に取り付けられた保護シートと、
から構成されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置のバックライトユニット。 - 液晶パネル、及び前記液晶パネルに光を供給するバックライトユニットから構成され、
前記バックライトユニットは、
緑色光を発生させる受動発光型ランプ、及び赤色光、青色光を発生させる自発光型ランプから構成された発光部と、
前記受動発光型ランプと前記自発光型ランプの間に備えられ、前記自発光型ランプから発光した赤色光と青色光を混合して上部に導く導光板と、
前記自発光型ランプの下部に設けられた反射板と、
前記受動発光型ランプの上部に設けられた光散乱手段とを含み、
前記受動発光型ランプが、冷陰極蛍光ランプ又は熱陰極蛍光ランプであり、
前記自発光型ランプが、EL又はLEDである
を含むことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 前記自発光型ランプの上部に形成されて、前記自発光型ランプから垂直に入射する光を側面に散乱させるダイバータをさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項5に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記ダイバータが、前記自発光型ランプと対応する前記導光板の下面に形成されることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記光散乱手段は、
前記受動発光型ランプ及び前記自発光型ランプから入射する光を分散させる拡散板と、
前記拡散板の上部に透過して反射される光の正面輝度を向上させるプリズムシートと、
前記プリズムシートの上部に取り付けられた保護シートと、
から構成されることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 液晶パネルと、
受動発光型ランプを有する第1発光部、及び自発光型ランプを有する第2発光部を含むバックライトユニットと、
前記受動発光型ランプと前記自発光型ランプの間に備えられた導光板と、
前記自発光型ランプの下部に設けられた反射板とを含み、
前記受動発光型ランプが、冷陰極蛍光ランプ又は熱陰極蛍光ランプであり、
前記自発光型ランプが、EL又はLEDである
を含むことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 前記自発光型ランプの上部に形成されて、前記自発光型ランプから垂直に入射する光を側面に散乱させるダイバータをさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項9に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記ダイバータが、前記自発光型ランプと対応する前記導光板の下面に形成されることを特徴とする請求項10に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記光散乱手段は、
前記第1及び第2発光部から入射する光を分散させる拡散板と、
前記拡散板の上部に透過して反射される光の正面輝度を向上させるプリズムシートと、
前記プリズムシートの上部に取り付けられた保護シートと、
から構成されることを特徴とする請求項9に記載の液晶表示装置。
