まず、下記の表1および表2に示す各成分を、同表に示す割合で配合し、これを有機溶剤(MEK)に配合し溶解してなる、20重量%濃度のコーティング液(表層形成材料)を調製した。なお、同表に、A成分とC成分との合計量に対するA成分の割合(重量%)と、バインダー〔導電剤,分散剤,溶剤を除く、各成分の総和〕中の、A成分(アミノ樹脂)とB成分(ジイソシアネート)との合計量(重量%)とを示した。
現像ロールの表層用材料を用いて、JIS K712に準じて、引張弾性率(MPa)を測定した。なお、引張速度は、毎分10±2.0mmとした。
現像ロールの表層用材料を用いて、JIS K712に準じて、破断伸び(%)を測定した。
32.5℃×85%RH雰囲気中において、現像ロールの帯電量(−μC/g)を、リコー社製のCX−3000(ブラックトナー使用)により測定した。この測定は、初期(未使用)の現像ロールと、3000枚複写使用後(3K後)の現像ロールとの、それぞれに対して行った。そして、得られた値により、初期に対する耐久使用後のトナー帯電性の低下度合〔(3K後トナー帯電量/初期トナー帯電量)×100〕も算出した。
上記3000枚複写使用後(3K後)の現像ロールによって黒べた画像の画出しを実施した。そして、初期の現像ロールによって画出しを実施したときに比べ濃度が明らかに薄くなったものを×、濃度むらがみられるようになったものを△、濃度に変化がみられなかったものを○と評価した。
