【発明の属する技術分野】
本発明は、装飾部材が取り付けられたエアバッグ装置のカバ−体に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
従来、ガスを噴射するインフレ−タと、このガスにより膨張展開するエアバッグと、このエアバッグを覆うカバ−体とを備えたエアバッグ装置が用いられている。そして、エアバッグは、小さく折り畳まれた状態でカバ−体の内部に収納され、自動車の衝突などに際して、インフレ−タから噴射されるガスの圧力により膨張して、軟質樹脂にて形成されたカバ−体の被覆部を開裂させ、乗員の前面などに展開されるようになっている。また、このエアバッグ装置は、例えば、自動車の運転者を衝突の衝撃から保護するためにステアリングホイ−ルの中央のパッド体に組み込まれるエアバッグ装置、インスツルメントパネルに内蔵する助手席搭乗者用のエアバッグ装置、前席のシ−トバックに内蔵する後席用のエアバッグ装置、あるいは、前面衝突用にドアや座席横に設けられるエアバッグ装置など、種々の態様のものが開発され、実用化されている。

また、この種のエアバッグ装置において、装飾の目的で、ロゴマ−クや車名などの装飾マ−クを、エアバッグ装置のカバ−体の被覆部に一体に形成した構成が知られている。

しかしながら、装飾マ−クをカバ−体に一体に形成した構成では、装飾マ−クがカバ−体全体の質感および色調と同一になるため、目立ちにくく、装飾的効果に乏しいとの問題を有している。

また、このような装飾マ−クを、カバ−体の被覆部とは別体の装飾部品により構成する場合には、エアバッグ装置の作動時に高速に展開する軟質樹脂製の被覆部に対して、この装飾部品を強固に取り付ける必要がある。

この点、例えば、特開平9−11838号公報に記載された構成が知られている。そして、この構成は、エアバッグを覆う被覆部と、この被覆部に取り付けられた装飾部品とを具備し、この装飾部品は、前記被覆部の表面側に配置された装飾体と、この装飾体から突設され前記被覆部を貫通する脚部と、前記被覆部の裏面側に配置され前記脚部に結合される係止部材とを備え、脚部に係止して係止部材を抜け止めする抜け止め部材を備えている。

しかしながら、上記構成では、係止部材としてのプレ−トと、抜け部材としての止め輪がそれぞれ別部品を構成している為、装飾部品を被覆部に取り付ける組立工程が煩雑であり、この構成であると工程の改善を施したとしても、より一層の組立工程の簡略化は困難である。

また、例えば特開平9−11833号公報に記載された構成が知られている。そして、この構成は、カバ−本体の被覆部に、別部材の装飾部品を取り付けるもので、この装飾部品は、円環状の装飾体および係合体としてのプレ−トと、脚部を構成する複数のシャフトとから構成され、被覆部の表面側には装飾体を配置し、裏面側にプレ−トが配置して装飾体の表面側からシャフトを挿入し、プレ−トに一体形成した抜け止め部材としての係合孔に係合して抜け止めすることにより、装飾部品を被覆部に確実に取り付けできるようになっている。

本発明は、エアバッグを覆う被覆部に、別部材の装飾体を取り付けるエアバッグ装置のカバ−体において、係止部材に抜け止め部位を形成して、係止部材と従来の抜け止め部材を一体化することにより部品点数を減らすとともに、装飾体を被覆部に取り付ける組立工程を大幅に簡略化することができるようにすることを課題とする。

本発明に係るエアバッグ装置のカバ−体は、エアバッグを覆う被覆部と、この被覆部に取り付けられた装飾部材とを有し、この装飾部材は、前記被覆部の表面側に配置された装飾体と、この装飾体から突設され前記被覆部を貫通する脚部と、前記被覆部の裏面側に配置され、前記脚部が挿入可能な挿入孔を設け、前記脚部の先端に形成されたツメ部に係合する係止部材とを備えるとともに、前記係止部材には、前記装飾体が係止された後に前記ツメ部が前記挿入孔の内側に撓まないようにする撓み防止手段が折り曲げ部を介して一体に形成されていることを特徴とする。
また、前記撓み防止手段には、前記ツメ部を覆う保護部が形成されていることを特徴とする。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、本発明の実施の形態を図面を参照して説明する。
図1において、1は自動車のステアリングホイ−ルで、このステアリングホイ−ル1は、ステアリングホイ−ル本体2と、このステアリングホイ−ル本体2の乗員側となる上側に装着されたエアバッグ装置3等から構成されている。

また、図1ないし図3に示すように、エアバッグ装置3は、金属製のベ−スプレ−ト11を備え、このベ−スプレ−ト11が、ステアリングホイ−ル本体2にブラケットなどを介して取り付けられている。そして、このベ−スプレ−ト11には、平面略矩形状をなす上板部11aと、この上板部11aの周縁部から下方に向って屈曲された周壁部11bとが形成されているとともに、上板部11aには、円孔状のインフレ−タ取付孔11cと、このインフレ−タ取付孔11cの周囲に位置する複数の取付通孔11dとが形成されている。そして、このインフレ−タ取付孔11cに下側から嵌合して、ガスを噴射するインフレ−タ12が取り付けられている。さらに、この上板部11aの上面には、このインフレ−タ12の上側を覆うようにして、エアバッグ14が小さく折り畳んだ状態で取り付けられている。

【発明の効果】
本発明に係るエアバッグ装置のカバ−体によれば、装飾体が係止された後にツメ部が挿入孔の内側に撓まないようにする撓み防止手段を設けたので、各種エラストマ−樹脂製等の柔かい装飾体を被覆部に容易かつ確実に取り付けることができる。
また、撓み防止手段を係止部材と折り曲げ部を介して一体化することにより、部品点数を減らすことが可能となり、組立工程を簡略化して、製造コストを低減することができる。
さらに、係止部材に保護部を形成したので、エアバッグの展開時にツメ部の先端が破断するのを防止できる。
