Claims (9)
- 画像を表示する液晶表示部と、赤色、緑色、青色の3原色の光源を独立に備え、前記液晶表示部を光照射する各色毎に制御可能なバックライト部と、液晶表示部の表示を制御する表示コントローラと、バックライト部の各色の発光を制御するバックライトコントローラと、を有する液晶表示装置において、
前記バックライトコントローラは、1フレーム期間内の一連の発光期間におけるバックライト部の少なくとも1色の発光期間を複数のサブ発光期間に分割し、
前記各色の1フレーム期間内の一連の発光期間における発光開始タイミングと発光終了タイミングとが全ての色で一致し、且つ各色の1フレーム期間内の一連の発光期間における発光期間の発光中心が全ての色で一致するように制御することを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1において、
前記バックライト部の発光強度は、前記一連の発光期間中の発光期間の長さを制御して調節することを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1又は2において、
前記一連の発光期間内の各色の発光タイミングのずれが少なくとも3ミリ秒以下であることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1乃至3の何れかにおいて、
前記一連の発光期間内の各色の発光タイミングのずれが少なくとも1.6ミリ秒以下であることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1乃至4の何れかにおいて、
前記一連の発光期間内の各色の発光タイミングのずれが少なくとも1ミリ秒以下であることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1乃至5の何れかにおいて、
前記一連の発光期間を1画像表示期間内に繰り返すことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 請求項6において、
前記繰り返す一連の発光期間の間隔は、3ミリ秒以上とすることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 請求項6又は7において、
前記繰り返す一連の発光期間の間隔は、前記液晶表示部の1画像書き込み時間、及び、液晶材料の応答時間により変化することを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1乃至8の何れかにおいて、
前記バックライト部の発光領域が2つ以上に分割されており、前記一連の発光期間は、分割された発光領域毎に発光タイミングがそれぞれ異なることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。
