This invention relates to a dining apron that accurately catches food spilled by elderly people, physically disabled people, etc. while eating, preventing clothes, dining tables, and floors from getting dirty.

An example of such a dining apron is known from Utility Model Registration No. 3191175 (Patent Document 1).

The apron described in Patent Document 1 is a bib-type apron and a placemat that are joined together, with elastic gathers on both edges of the upper part of the placemat area, and a pocket can be formed inside the gathers to catch any food that falls.

The above-mentioned apron has a pocket that can catch food spills. However, the pocket for catching food spills is formed inside a rubber-gathered part provided on both edges of the upper part of the placemat area. Providing such a rubber-gathered part requires a lot of time and effort in manufacturing, and there is also a problem that the gathered part protrudes and becomes bulky when folded and stored.
Therefore, there has been a need to provide a dining apron that can easily form a pocket for catching spilled food.

The dining apron of this invention is an apron that is made up of a chest covering part with a neck hanging part at the top and a stomach covering part, and a table sheet part that is placed on the dining table is connected to the bottom of the apron main body, and is characterized in that fasteners that can be freely attached and detached on the front and back sides are provided on both sides of the boundary between the stomach covering part of the apron main body and the table sheet part, and the fasteners are fastened to form pockets on both sides of the boundary.

The dining apron of the present invention described above is primarily worn by elderly people, physically disabled people, etc. (hereinafter referred to as "care recipients") when eating. Next, a preferred embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.

1 is the apron body, consisting of a chest covering part 11 with a neck hanging part 2 at the top and a stomach covering part 12. The fasteners 3 are engaged by folding both sides of the table sheet portion 13 diagonally from the boundary (x) so that the back surface 1b becomes the front surface, and engaging the male and female fasteners 3 that face each other.

Next, the process of forming the pocket portion 4 will be explained based on Figure 3. This shows one side of the belly covering portion 12 of the apron body 1 and the table sheet portion 13. First, as shown in (Figure 3-1), the boundary (x) is used as the starting point, and the table sheet portion 13 is folded diagonally so that the back surface 1b of the table sheet portion 13 becomes the front surface side as shown in (Figure 3-2), and the male and female fasteners 3 face each other. Then, as shown in (Figure 3-3), the table sheet portion 13 is folded so that it overlaps the belly covering portion 12, using the dotted line in (Figure 3-2) as the fold, and the opposing male and female fasteners 3 are engaged. Next, the table sheet portion 13 is returned to its original position starting from the fastener 3 as shown in (Figure 3-4), forming the pocket portion 4.

When the fastener 3 is fastened as described above, both sides of the boundary (x) between the abdominal covering portion 12 of the apron body 1 and the table sheet portion 13 protrude upward from the surface 1a, as shown in FIG. 4, and a pocket portion 4 is formed on the inside.

In this embodiment, the fastener 3 is made of a snap. That is, one of the male 3a and female 3b of the snap 3 is arranged to be the front surface 1a or the back surface 1b of the apron body 1, and the other of the male 3a and female 3b of the snap 3 is arranged to be the back surface 1b or the front surface 1a of the apron body 1.

The fastener 3 may be any fastener that can be accurately attached and detached, and may be, for example, a hook-and-loop fastener in addition to the snap 3.

As shown in Figure 5, the dining apron configured in this way is worn by the person being cared for when eating, with the table sheet portion 13 laid on the dining table (a) and tableware (b) containing food and drink placed on top of it, either directly or on a tray (c).

In this way, the table sheet part 13 is connected to the bottom of the apron body 1, which is made up of a chest covering part 11 with a neck hanging part 2 at the top and an abdominal covering part 12. As mentioned above, the dining apron of this invention is worn by the person being cared for to catch food that falls while eating, so it is made of polyester with a water-repellent and stain-resistant finish, which makes it difficult for dirt to stick and easy to clean. Claims (2)

A dining apron with a table sheet section to be placed on the dining table attached to the bottom of an apron body consisting of a chest covering section with a neck hanging section at the top and a stomach covering section, characterized in that fasteners that can be freely attached and detached on the front and back sides are provided on both sides of the boundary between the stomach covering section of the apron body and the table sheet section, and pockets are formed on both sides of the boundary by fastening the fasteners.
