るために管継手の内面側に電熱線を埋設した電気融着式
プラスチック管継手に関するものである。
開示された図4に示す電気融着式プラスチック管継手が
ある。このものは一端から他端に亘って外表面に溝を有
し、溝の底部と内面との壁厚さを軸方向中央側に向かっ
て順次増加するように設けた内方部材の溝に電熱線を設
け、この内方部材と電熱線を外方部材で包囲した電気融
着式プラスチック管継手である。
手本体を形成する外方部材の軸方向の長さとほぼ同じ内
方部材を設け、この内方部材は軸方向の中央部分におい
てより大きな内面との壁厚さを有しており、樹脂管の管
継手内への完全な装着なしに電熱線が加熱することによ
って生ずる管継手の損傷を防止するものである。しかる
に電熱線は管継手の中央部分で溝の底部と内包部材の内
面間との壁厚さが増加しているため、継手内面側への電
熱線の加熱による影響は、中央部の壁厚さが増した部分
で少なくなるが、樹脂管が管継手内へ完全に装着された
場合の加熱の影響も装着した樹脂管の端部側で少なくな
り、完全な装着状態でも樹脂管との溶融接合が樹脂管の
装着域で均一に行われない部分が生じる。

また内包部材に電熱線を巻線する工程作業上大形になる
程困難を要し、製造上問題が多かった。本発明は上記の
課題を解消して、管継手本体内に樹脂管を装着した樹脂
管装着領域にのみ電熱線で管継手の内面を加熱させて装
着した樹脂管と溶融接合し、また樹脂管を装着しない管
継手本体内の領域は全く加熱させず、したがって管継手
と樹脂管との溶融接合を確実なものとし、そして加熱に
よる管継手本体への悪影響をなくすとともに、管継手の
製造が容易になる電気融着式プラスチック管継手を提供
するものである。
状の外周面に電熱線を巻き回し該電熱線の両端は前記薄
肉筒状外面に装着した一対のコネクターピンに接続して
なる熱可塑性樹脂製の内筒部材と、該内筒部材の外面に
熱可塑性樹脂を射出成形した外筒部材とよりなる管継手
であって、該管継手の両端部内面に熱可塑性樹脂管を挿
入し、前記管継手の外面に突出するコネクターピンに通
電して前記電熱線を加熱させ、前記樹脂管と融着する電
気融着式管継手において、前記管継手の樹脂管を挿入す
る両端部内周側の夫々の管装着域に対応して夫々前記内
筒部材を設け、該各内筒部材の一対のコネクターピンの
内の片方同志を管継手の外面で導電線を用いて接続して
前記各内筒部材の電熱線を電気的に直列接続し、前記各
内筒部材のコネクターピンの内の他方のコネクターピン
より各内筒部材の電熱線に通電することを特徴とする電
気融着式プラスチック管継手である。上記において、前
記管継手の外面で各内筒部材のコネクターピンの片方同
志を導電線で接続した接続部の上に熱可塑性樹脂製のカ
バーを被せて管継手外面との間で密封したことを特徴と
するものである。
脂管の装着域にのみ内筒部材が配置され、したがって管
の装着域にのみ電熱線が埋設されており、管の装着域を
除く部材には電熱線が埋設されてない。したがって電熱
線による加熱は、樹脂管との溶融接続にのみ有効に利用
され、また電熱線の加熱による管継手本体への悪影響を
防止する。また継手の製造上においても、継手の形状に
関係なく接続する樹脂管の口径に応じた内筒部材を共通
して用いることができる。このため、形状の異なる継手
や口径が異なる継手の製造においても、電熱線の埋設が
ない部材を用いて熱融着したり、又は内筒部材の外面に
外筒部材を一体に成型することによって管継手の製造が
容易に行える。また樹脂管との接続作業においても、管
継手の埋設された電熱線に同時に通電して接続作業が行
えるため、接続作業が短時間に且つ容易に行える。また
接続部をカバーによって管継手の表面で密封してあるの
で、管と接続中に土壌や水と触れて電気的な問題を起こ
す恐れがなく、良好な接続作業が行なえる。
プラスチック管継手1である。図において20は本実施
例の管継手の中央部を形成する熱可塑性樹脂で設けた筒
状の中間部材で、図ではエルボ形をしているが各種の管
継手の形状に応じてソケット形でもチ−ズ形でも同様で
ある。この中間部材20は樹脂管21、22の装着域を
除く部分を形成しており、予め射出成型で形成してもよ
く、また後述する様に内筒部材12、12の製造後、内
筒部材12と一体的に射出成型で形成しても良い。
した内筒部材12の外面に外筒部材13を金型内で射出
成型して設けたもので、この内面に接続する樹脂管2
1、22が装着される。内筒部材12はポリエチレン等
の熱可塑性樹脂からなる薄肉円筒状で、内面は接続する
熱可塑性樹脂管を受け入れる内径を有し、外面は電熱線
11を受け入れる螺旋の溝14を有す。溝14にはステ
ンレス、銅等の抵抗加熱が行われる電熱線11を巻いて
あり、内筒部材12の両端外面に設置したコネクタ−ピ
ン15、16に電熱線11の両端を連結してある。
装着域に設けた接続部材10には一系統の電熱線11が
埋設されており、樹脂管21、22が装着されない中央
部分は上記中間部材20で設けられている。この両者は
例えば互いに向かい合う両端面を別の加熱盤等で加熱
し、各々の端面が溶融状態に達したら加熱盤を取り外
し、両端面を素早く押し付ける。これによって中間部材
20の端部側に接続部材10が一体的に熱融着される。
各端部側の接続部材10、10には各々2本のコネクタ
−ピン15、16が突き出しており、この内各一本のコ
ネクタ−ピン同志16、16を被覆導線3によって管継
手の外面で結線してある。尚、被覆導線3の外面には熱
可塑性樹脂で作ったカバーを被せて、カバーの周囲を管
継手の表面と熱融着して一体に接合し、接続結線部を外
部の環境と完全に遮断してある。接続部材10は樹脂管
21、22の装着域にのみ設けられるから接続する樹脂
管21、22の口径に応じたものを用意するだけでよ
く、従って管継手1全体の形状のものを用意する必要が
なく、同じ管口径サイズでの接続部材10、及び内筒部
材12の共通化が計れる。
上記のごとく熱融着してもよく、また別の実施例として
図2に示すごとく、中間部材70の内面に歯形溝71を
設け、この歯形溝71に接続部材40のスリ−ブ45を
パッキン73を介して嵌合し、嵌合した内面側に銅管等
の金属製ステイフナ−41を装着してこのステイフナ−
41を拡径し、中間部材70と接続部材40を密封状態
で一体化しても良い。また上記歯形溝71に代えて互い
に螺合するねじを設け、中間部材70と接続部材40と
を密封状態で螺合し一体化しても良い。なお一体化した
後、両端接続部材40、40のコネクタ−ピン16、1
6が被覆導線3によって結線される。この場合も被覆導
線3による結線部には上記したごとく、管継手の表面に
カバーを接合して接続結線部を密封し、外部環境から遮
断している。
ある。射出成形機の金型60はキャビテイ−61を有す
2つ割りからなっており、キャビテイ−61中にはマン
ドレル62、63を装着してある。マンドレル62、6
3には前記電熱線11を巻き回した内筒部材12、12
を各々のマンドレル62、63に装着してある。コネク
タ−ピン15、16は金型60で固定されており動かな
い様になっている。この状態で射出成形機の射出筒より
溶融状態のポリエチレン等の熱可塑性溶融樹脂をランナ
−64より射出して、キャビテイ−61中の内面と電熱
線を巻き回した内筒部材12、12の外面との間に外筒
部材17を成形する。射出した外筒部材17の溶融樹脂
によって、内筒部材12、12の各外面は外筒部材17
と一体的に熱融着接合され、各コネクタ−ピン15、1
6が外筒部材17の外面に突き出して一体化される。こ
のようにして成型した後、上記コネクタ−ピン16、1
6を管継手の外部で接続し、電気融着式のプラスチック
管継手1が形成される。
ように管継手1の両端部内面側に接続する樹脂管21、
22を挿入した後、管継手1の両端部外面に突き出した
各コネクタ−ピン15、16にコントロ−ラ−30から
の電力を付与する。コントロ−ラからの電力は一方の電
熱線11から被覆導線3を介して他方の電熱線11に通
電される。電熱線11は管継手の樹脂管21、21を装
着する部分にのみ埋設されているため、装着した樹脂管
21、22の外周面を加熱し、効率よくコントロ−ラ−
30からの電力が費やされる。なお上記各コネクタ−ピ
ン15、16は管継手の外面で互いに並列に接続して、
コントロ−ラからの電力を各電熱線11に付与するよう
にしても良い。
ラスチック管継手は、接続する樹脂管の装着域を除く部
分で電熱線が埋設されてなく、加熱が行われないから、
電熱線による加熱エネルギ−は樹脂管との溶融接続にの
み効率よく有効に利用される。また管継手内の余分な部
分を加熱しないから、管継手内での不要な加熱による損
傷を防止する。また同じ管口径サイズでの内筒部材の共
通化が計れるので、従来のごとく各種継手形状毎の内筒
部材を設ける必要がなく、更に各種形状や異なる口径の
継手の製造もそれに応じた中間部材を設けるだけで容易
に行なえる。更に接続部は外部と遮断されるので電気的
な問題が生じなく、良好な接続が行なえる。

Claims (2)
- 【請求項1】 薄肉筒状の外周面に電熱線を巻き回し該
電熱線の両端は前記薄肉筒状外面に装着した一対のコネ
クターピンに接続してなる熱可塑性樹脂製の内筒部材
と、該内筒部材の外面に熱可塑性樹脂を射出成形した外
筒部材とよりなる管継手であって、該管継手の両端部内
面に熱可塑性樹脂管を挿入し、前記管継手の外面に突出
するコネクターピンに通電して前記電熱線を加熱させ、
前記樹脂管と融着する電気融着式管継手において、 前記管継手の樹脂管を挿入する両端部内周側の夫々の管
装着域に対応して夫々前記内筒部材を設け、該各内筒部
材の一対のコネクターピンの内の片方同志を管継手の外
面で導電線を用いて接続して前記各内筒部材の電熱線を
電気的に直列接続し、前記各内筒部材のコネクターピン
の内の他方のコネクターピンより各内筒部材の電熱線に
通電することを特徴とする電気融着式プラスチック管継
手。 - 【請求項2】 前記管継手の外面で各内筒部材のコネク
ターピンの片方同志を導電線で接続した接続部の上に熱
可塑性樹脂製のカバーを被せて管継手外面との間で密封
したことを特徴とする請求項1記載の電気融着式プラス
チック管継手。
