Abstract
Description
本開示に係る実施形態を説明する前に、比較形態を参照しつつ、鏡として機能する状態と、表示装置として機能する状態と、を切り替えることができる光学装置の基本的な構造及び機能を説明する。なお、このような光学装置は、例えば、通常は鏡として機能し、必要な時に車内温度,走行速度等を表示する車両用のルームミラー,サイドミラー等に用いることができる。
図3に、第1実施形態による光学装置101の構造を示す。第1実施形態による光学装置101は、反射型偏光板21の固定方法を除いて、比較形態による光学装置100と同じ構造及び構成を有する。
第1実施形態では、反射型偏光板21が表示装置10に貼り付けられていた。しかし、反射型偏光板21は、別途用意した透光プレートに貼り付けられていてもよい。以下では、第2実施形態として、反射型偏光板21が透光プレートに貼り付けられた光学装置について説明する。
第1実施形態及び第2実施形態では、所望の画像を表示する手段として、有機EL素子を用いた表示装置10を例示した。しかし、所望の画像を表示する手段として、液晶表示素子を含む光出射装置を用いてもよい。以下では、第3実施形態として、液晶表示素子を含む光出射装置を用いた光学装置について説明する。
図6に、第1実施形態の変形例による光学装置104を示す。なお、本変形例は、第2実施形態及び第3実施形態にも適用可能である。

Claims (5)
- 光を出射する状態と光を反射する状態とを切り替えることができる光学装置であって、
光出射面を有する光出射装置と、
前記光出射装置の前記光出射面に対向して配置される吸収型偏光板と、
前記光出射装置と前記吸収型偏光板との間に配置される液晶光学素子と、
前記光出射装置と前記液晶光学素子との間に配置される反射型偏光板と、
前記反射型偏光板の、前記光出射装置を向く表面に設けられる接着層と、
を備える光学装置。 - 前記接着層は、前記反射型偏光板と前記光出射装置とを接着する、
請求項1に記載の光学装置。 - 前記光出射装置と前記接着層との間に配置される透光プレートをさらに備え、
前記接着層は、前記反射型偏光板と前記透光プレートとを接着する、
請求項1に記載の光学装置。 - 前記液晶光学素子の、前記反射型偏光板を向く表面に貼り付けられる光学フィルムをさらに備える、
請求項1から3のいずれか1項に記載の光学装置。 - 前記光出射装置は、
前記反射型偏光板に対向する液晶表示素子と、
前記液晶表示素子に光を照射する光源と、
前記液晶表示素子と前記光源との間に配置される偏光フィルムと、
