Abstract
Description
項1. 少なくとも、バリア層と、前記バリア層の一方面側に位置する熱融着性樹脂層と、前記バリア層の他方面側に位置するポリエステルフィルムとを備える積層体から構成されており、
フーリエ変換赤外分光法の全反射法を用い、前記ポリエステルフィルムの表面上について、0°から180°まで10°刻みで18方向の赤外吸収スペクトルを取得した場合に、当該赤外吸収スペクトルの1340cm-1における吸収ピーク強度Y1340と、1410cm-1における吸収ピーク強度Y1410との比(Y1340/Y1410)の最大値Ymax及び最小値Yminの比(表面配向度:Ymax/Ymin)が、1.4以上2.7以下の範囲にある、電池用包装材料。
項2. 前記ポリエステルフィルムの厚みに対する前記熱融着性樹脂層の厚みの比が、3未満である、項1に記載の電池用包装材料。
項3. 前記熱融着性樹脂層の厚みが、100μm以下である、項1または2に記載の電池用包装材料。
項4. 前記ポリエステルフィルムの複屈折率が、0.016以上である、項1〜3のいずれかに記載の電池用包装材料。
項5. 少なくとも正極、負極、及び電解質を備えた電池素子が、項1〜4のいずれかに記載の電池用包装材料により形成された包装体中に収容されている、電池。
項6. 少なくとも、ポリエステルフィルム、バリア層、及び熱融着性樹脂層がこの順となるように積層して積層体を得る工程を備えており、
前記ポリエステルフィルムとして、フーリエ変換赤外分光法の全反射法を用い、前記ポリエステルフィルムの表面上について、0°から180°まで10°刻みで18方向の赤外吸収スペクトルを取得した場合に、当該赤外吸収スペクトルの1340cm-1における吸収ピーク強度Y1340と、1410cm-1における吸収ピーク強度Y1410との比(Y1340/Y1410)の最大値Ymax及び最小値Yminの比(表面配向度:Ymax/Ymin)が、1.4以上2.7以下の範囲にあるものを用いる、電池用包装材料の製造方法。
項7. 電池用包装材料に使用するためのポリエステルフィルムであって、
フーリエ変換赤外分光法の全反射法を用い、前記ポリエステルフィルムの表面上について、0°から180°まで10°刻みで18方向の赤外吸収スペクトルを取得した場合に、当該赤外吸収スペクトルの1340cm-1における吸収ピーク強度Y1340と、1410cm-1における吸収ピーク強度Y1410との比(Y1340/Y1410)の最大値Ymax及び最小値Yminの比(表面配向度:Ymax/Ymin)が、1.4以上2.7以下の範囲にある、ポリエステルフィルム。
項8. フーリエ変換赤外分光法の全反射法を用い、ポリエステルフィルムの表面上について、0°から180°まで10°刻みで18方向の赤外吸収スペクトルを取得した場合に、当該赤外吸収スペクトルの1340cm-1における吸収ピーク強度Y1340と、1410cm-1における吸収ピーク強度Y1410との比(Y1340/Y1410)の最大値Ymax及び最小値Yminの比(表面配向度:Ymax/Ymin)が、1.4以上2.7以下の範囲にあるポリエステルフィルムの、電池用包装材料への使用。
本発明の電池用包装材料10は、例えば図1に示すように、ポリエステルフィルム1、バリア層3、及び熱融着性樹脂層4をこの順に備える積層体からなる。本発明の電池用包装材料において、ポリエステルフィルム1が最外層側になり、熱融着性樹脂層4は最内層になる。即ち、電池の組み立て時に、電池素子の周縁に位置する熱融着性樹脂層4同士が熱融着して電池素子を密封することにより、電池素子が封止される。
[ポリエステルフィルム1]
本発明の電池用包装材料において、ポリエステルフィルム1は、最外層側に位置する層であり、基材として機能する。
フーリエ変換赤外分光光度計にて1回反射ATR法を用いて以下の条件で測定を行う。
波数分解能:8cm−1
IRE:Ge
入射角:30°
偏光子:ワイヤーグリッド、S偏光
ベースライン:波数1800cm−1から2000cm−1の範囲における強度の平均値
吸収ピーク強度Y1340:波数1335cm−1から1342cm−1の範囲におけるピーク強度の最大値からベースラインの値を引いた値
吸収ピーク強度Y1410:波数1400cm−1から1410cm−1の範囲におけるピーク強度の最大値からベースラインの値を引いた値
ポリエステルフィルムの複屈折率は、位相差測定装置を用いて、測定することができる。測定波長は550nm、入射角は10度とする。複屈折率の算出に用いたポリエステルフィルムの厚みは、マイクロメーターを用いて測定する。また、複屈折率の算出に用いるポリエステルフィルムの平均屈折率は仮定値1.6200とする。
本発明の電池用包装材料において、接着剤層2は、ポリエステルフィルム1または前述の樹脂フィルムとバリア層3を強固に接着させるために、必要に応じて、これらの間に設けられる層である。
電池用包装材料において、バリア層3は、電池用包装材料の強度向上の他、電池内部に水蒸気、酸素、光などが侵入することを防止する機能を有する層である。バリア層3は、金属層、すなわち、金属で形成されている層であることが好ましい。バリア層3を構成する金属としては、具体的には、アルミニウム、ステンレス、チタンなどが挙げられ、好ましくはアルミニウムが挙げられる。バリア層3は、例えば、金属箔や金属蒸着膜、無機酸化物蒸着膜、炭素含有無機酸化物蒸着膜、これらの蒸着膜を設けたフィルムなどにより形成することができ、金属箔により形成することが好ましく、アルミニウム合金箔により形成することがさらに好ましい。電池用包装材料の製造時に、バリア層3にしわやピンホールが発生することを防止する観点からは、バリア層は、例えば、焼きなまし処理済みのアルミニウム(JIS H4160:1994 A8021H−O、JIS H4160:1994 A8079H−O、JIS H4000:2014 A8021P−O、JIS H4000:2014 A8079P−O)など軟質アルミニウム合金箔により形成することがより好ましい。
本発明の電池用包装材料において、熱融着性樹脂層4は、最内層に該当し、電池の組み立て時に熱融着性樹脂層同士が熱融着して電池素子を密封する層である。
本発明の電池用包装材料において、接着層5は、バリア層3と熱融着性樹脂層4を強固に接着させるために、これらの間に必要に応じて設けられる層である。
本発明の電池用包装材料においては、意匠性、耐電解液性、耐擦過性、成形性の向上などを目的として、必要に応じて、ポリエステルフィルム1の上(ポリエステルフィルム1のバリア層3とは反対側)に、必要に応じて、表面被覆層6を設けてもよい。表面被覆層6は、電池を組み立てた時に、最外層に位置する層である。
本発明の電池用包装材料の製造方法については、所定の組成の各層を積層させた積層体が得られる限り、特に制限されない。電池用包装材料の製造方法としては、例えば、少なくとも、ポリエステルフィルム、バリア層、及び熱融着性樹脂層がこの順となるように積層して積層体を得る工程を備えており、ポリエステルフィルムとして、フーリエ変換赤外分光法の全反射法を用い、前記ポリエステルフィルムの表面上について、0°から180°まで10°刻みで18方向の赤外吸収スペクトルを取得した場合に、当該赤外吸収スペクトルの1340cm-1における吸収ピーク強度Y1340と、1410cm-1における吸収ピーク強度Y1410との比(Y1340/Y1410)の最大値Ymax及び最小値Yminの比(表面配向度:Ymax/Ymin)が、1.4〜2.7の範囲にあるものを用いる方法が挙げられる。
本発明の電池用包装材料は、正極、負極、電解質等の電池素子を密封して収容するための包装体に使用される。すなわち、本発明の電池用包装材料によって形成された包装体中に、少なくとも正極、負極、及び電解質を備えた電池素子を収容して、電池とすることができる。
本発明のポリエステルフィルムは、電池用包装材料に使用するために用いられるポリエステルフィルムである。本発明のポリエステルフィルムは、フーリエ変換赤外分光法の全反射法を用い、前記ポリエステルフィルムの表面上について、0°から180°まで10°刻みで18方向の赤外吸収スペクトルを取得した場合に、当該赤外吸収スペクトルの1340cm-1における吸収ピーク強度Y1340と、1410cm-1における吸収ピーク強度Y1410との比(Y1340/Y1410)の最大値Ymax及び最小値Yminの比(表面配向度:Ymax/Ymin)が、1.4以上2.7以下の範囲にあることを特徴としている。本発明のポリエステルフィルムの具体的な構成は、前記「2.電池用包装材料を形成する各層 [ポリエステルフィルム1]」の欄に記載した構成と同じである。

それぞれ、延伸ポリエチレンテレフタレートフィルムの上に、両面に化成処理を施し耐酸性皮膜を形成したアルミニウム箔(JIS H4160:1994 A8021H−O)からなるバリア層をドライラミネート法により積層させた。具体的には、アルミニウム箔の一方面に、2液硬化型ウレタン接着剤(ポリオール化合物と芳香族イソシアネート系化合物)を塗布し、バリア層上に接着剤層(厚み3μm)を形成した。次いで、バリア層上の接着剤層とポリエチレンテレフタレートフィルムを積層した後、エージング処理を実施することにより、延伸ポリエチレンテレフタレートフィルム/接着剤層/バリア層の積層体を作製した。なお、バリア層として使用したアルミニウム箔の化成処理は、フェノール樹脂、フッ化クロム化合物、及びリン酸からなる処理液をクロムの塗布量が10mg/m2(乾燥質量)となるように、ロールコート法によりアルミニウム箔の両面に塗布し、焼付けすることにより行った。
電池用包装材料に積層されている延伸ポリエステルフィルム表面及び、積層に用いた延伸ポリエステルフィルム単層表面について、それぞれ、フーリエ変換赤外分光法(FT−IR)の全反射法(ATR)を用い、0°から180°まで10°刻みで18方向の赤外吸収スペクトルを取得し、当該赤外吸収スペクトルの1340cm-1における吸収ピーク強度Y1340(CH2縦揺れ振動)と、1410cm-1における吸収ピーク強度Y1410(C=C伸縮振動)との比(Y1340/Y1410)の最大値Ymax及び最小値Yminの比(表面配向度:Ymax/Ymin)を算出した。赤外吸収スペクトルの具体的な測定条件は、以下の通りである。結果を表2に示す。

付属装置:1回反射ATR付属装置(Seagull)
検出器:MCT(Hg Cd Te)
波数分解能:8cm−1
IRE:Ge
入射角:30°
偏光子:ワイヤーグリッド、S偏光
ベースライン:波数1800cm−1から2000cm−1の範囲における強度の平均値
吸収ピーク強度Y1340:波数1335cm−1から1342cm−1の範囲におけるピーク強度の最大値からベースラインの値を引いた値
吸収ピーク強度Y1410:波数1400cm−1から1410cm−1の範囲におけるピーク強度の最大値からベースラインの値を引いた値
ポリエチレンテレフタレートフィルムの複屈折率は、位相差測定装置(王子計測機器社製のKOBRA−WR)を用いて、測定した。測定波長は550nm、入射角は10度とした。複屈折率の算出に用いたポリエチレンテレフタレートフィルムの厚みは、マイクロメーター(ミツトヨ社製のDigimatic Micrometer)を用いて測定した値である。また、複屈折率の算出に用いたポリエステルフィルムの平均屈折率は仮定値1.6200とした。結果を表2に示す。
上記で得られた各電池用包装材料を長さ(z方向)150mm、幅(x方向)100mmの長方形に裁断して試験サンプルとした。このサンプルを30mm(x方向)、50mm(z方向)の口径を有する矩形状の成形金型(雌型、表面は、JIS B 0659−1:2002附属書1(参考) 比較用表面粗さ標準片の表2に規定される、最大高さ粗さ(Rzの呼び値)が3.2μmである)と、これに対応した成形金型(雄型、表面は、JIS B 0659−1:2002附属書1(参考) 比較用表面粗さ標準片の表2に規定される、最大高さ粗さ(Rzの呼び値)が1.6μmである)を用いて、押え圧(面圧)0.9MPaで0.5mmの成形深さから0.5mm単位で成形深さを変えて、それぞれ10個のサンプルについて冷間成形(引き込み1段成形)を行った。このとき、雄型側に熱融着性樹脂層側が位置するよう、雌型上に上記試験サンプルを載置して成形をおこなった。また、雄型及び雌型のクリアランスは、0.5mmとした。冷間成形後のサンプルについて、アルミニウム箔にピンホール、クラックが10個のサンプル全てにおいて発生しない最も深い成形深さをAmm、アルミニウム箔にピンホール等が発生した最も浅い成形深さにおいてピンホール等が発生したサンプルの数をB個とし、以下の式により算出される値を電池用包装材料の限界成形深さとした。結果を表2に示す。
限界成形深さ=Amm+(0.5mm/10個)×(10個−B個)
上記で得られた各電池用包装材料を裁断して、長さ(z方向)150mm、幅(x方向)100mmの短冊片を作製し、これを試験サンプルとした。次に、成形性の評価で用いた成形金型を用い、雄型側に熱融着性樹脂層側が位置するように雌型上に上記試験サンプルを載置して、成形深さ6mmとなるように当該試験サンプルを0.1MPaの押え圧(面圧)で押えて、冷間成形(引き込み1段成形)した。成形を行った位置の詳細は、図5に示される通りである。図6に示されるように、矩形状の成形部Mと電池用包装材料10の端部Pとの距離d=75mmとなる位置で成形した。次に、成形後の電池用包装材料10を、図6に示すようにして水平面20におき、水平面20から端部Pまでの垂直方向yの距離の最大値tをカールしている部分の最大高さ(成形カール(mm))とした。結果を表2に示す。

Claims (8)
- 少なくとも、バリア層と、前記バリア層の一方面側に位置する熱融着性樹脂層と、前記バリア層の他方面側に位置するポリエステルフィルムとを備える積層体から構成されており、
フーリエ変換赤外分光法の全反射法を用い、前記ポリエステルフィルムの表面上について、0°から180°まで10°刻みで18方向の赤外吸収スペクトルを取得した場合に、当該赤外吸収スペクトルの1340cm-1における吸収ピーク強度Y1340と、1410cm-1における吸収ピーク強度Y1410との比(Y1340/Y1410)の最大値Ymax及び最小値Yminの比(表面配向度:Ymax/Ymin)が、1.4以上2.7以下の範囲にある、電池用包装材料。 - 前記ポリエステルフィルムの厚みに対する前記熱融着性樹脂層の厚みの比が、3未満である、請求項1に記載の電池用包装材料。
- 前記熱融着性樹脂層の厚みが、100μm以下である、請求項1または2に記載の電池用包装材料。
- 前記ポリエステルフィルムの複屈折率が、0.016以上である、請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の電池用包装材料。
- 少なくとも正極、負極、及び電解質を備えた電池素子が、請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の電池用包装材料により形成された包装体中に収容されている、電池。
- 少なくとも、ポリエステルフィルム、バリア層、及び熱融着性樹脂層がこの順となるように積層して積層体を得る工程を備えており、
前記ポリエステルフィルムとして、フーリエ変換赤外分光法の全反射法を用い、前記ポリエステルフィルムの表面上について、0°から180°まで10°刻みで18方向の赤外吸収スペクトルを取得した場合に、当該赤外吸収スペクトルの1340cm-1における吸収ピーク強度Y1340と、1410cm-1における吸収ピーク強度Y1410との比(Y1340/Y1410)の最大値Ymax及び最小値Yminの比(表面配向度:Ymax/Ymin)が、1.4以上2.7以下の範囲にあるものを用いる、電池用包装材料の製造方法。 - 電池用包装材料に使用するためのポリエステルフィルムであって、
フーリエ変換赤外分光法の全反射法を用い、前記ポリエステルフィルムの表面上について、0°から180°まで10°刻みで18方向の赤外吸収スペクトルを取得した場合に、当該赤外吸収スペクトルの1340cm-1における吸収ピーク強度Y1340と、1410cm-1における吸収ピーク強度Y1410との比(Y1340/Y1410)の最大値Ymax及び最小値Yminの比(表面配向度:Ymax/Ymin)が、1.4以上2.7以下の範囲にある、ポリエステルフィルム。 - フーリエ変換赤外分光法の全反射法を用い、ポリエステルフィルムの表面上について、0°から180°まで10°刻みで18方向の赤外吸収スペクトルを取得した場合に、当該赤外吸収スペクトルの1340cm-1における吸収ピーク強度Y1340と、1410cm-1における吸収ピーク強度Y1410との比(Y1340/Y1410)の最大値Ymax及び最小値Yminの比(表面配向度:Ymax/Ymin)が、1.4以上2.7以下の範囲にあるポリエステルフィルムの、電池用包装材料への使用。
