Claims (20)
- 摩擦攪拌処理(FSP)方法であって
第1加工物をFSPツールに接触させるステップであって、前記第1加工物は、低融点金属又は低融点合金であり、前記FSPツールは、ダイヤモンド作業面を有する単体FSPツールであるステップと、
界面で前記第1加工物に接触する前記FSPツールを回転させるステップと、
前記第1加工物を加熱するために前記界面で熱エネルギーを発生させるステップと、
前記FSPツールを用いて前記界面から熱エネルギーを逃がすステップと、
前記FSPツールの温度が800℃未満の状態で前記第1加工物を摩擦攪拌するステップと、を備える、方法。 - 前記第1加工物が低融点単相合金である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記第1加工物がアルミニウム又はアルミニウム合金である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 第2加工物を前記第1加工物と接触した状態で配置するステップと、前記FSPツールの温度が800℃未満の状態で、前記第1加工物を前記第2加工物に摩擦攪拌接合するステップを更に備える、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記第1加工物及び第2加工物は、低融点単相合金である、請求項4に記載の方法。
- 前記第1加工物及び第2加工物は、アルミニウム又はアルミニウム合金である、請求項4に記載の方法。
- 前記FSPツールを回転させるステップにおいて、前記FSPツールを10回転/分より大きい回転速度で回転させる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記単体FSPツールは、ピンと、シャンクと、肩部とを含み、前記ピンと前記シャンクの少なくとも一部とは、モノリシック多結晶ダイヤモンドである、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 摩擦攪拌処理装置であって、
高温高圧プレスにおける単一のプレスプロセスで形成された単体ツールを備え、
前記単体ツールは、回転軸を有し、少なくとも
シャンクと、
前記シャンクと一体的に形成されたピンと、を含み、
前記ピンと前記シャンクの少なくとも一部とは、多結晶ダイヤモンドを含む、装置。 - 前記ピンとシャンクと一体的に形成された肩部を更に備え、前記肩部は、多結晶ダイヤモンドを含む、請求項9に記載の装置。
- 前記肩部は、その上に配置された1つ以上の肩部表面構成要素を有する、請求項10に記載の装置。
- 前記多結晶ダイヤモンドは、500ワット/メートル・ケルビンより大きい熱伝導率を有する、請求項9に記載の装置。
- 前記多結晶ダイヤモンドは、0.1未満の摩擦係数を有する、請求項9に記載の装置。
- 前記ピン及びシャンクは、多結晶ダイヤモンドよりモノリシックに形成されている、請求項9に記載の装置。
- 前記ピンは、前記回転軸に対して前記単体ツールの全半径の1/3より大きいベース半径を有する、請求項9に記載の装置。
- 前記ピンは、先細り状のピンである、請求項15に記載の装置。
- 前記ピンは、その上に1つ以上のピン表面構成要素を有する、請求項9に記載の装置。
- 摩擦攪拌処理装置であって、
高温高圧プレスにおける単一のプレスプロセスで形成された単体ツールを備え、
前記単体ツールは、回転軸を有し、少なくとも
シャンクと、
前記シャンクと一体的に形成されたピンであって、前記ピン又はシャンクに連結された肩部を有しないピンと、を含み、
前記ピンと前記シャンクの少なくとも一部とは、多結晶ダイヤモンドを含む、装置。 - 前記シャンクは、モノリシックPCDより形成されている、請求項18に記載の装置。
- 前記ピンは、その上に配置された少なくとも1つのピン表面構成要素を有する先細り状のピンである、請求項18に記載の装置。
