Abstract
Description
接続42がガルバニック腐食されていないことを示すものである。接続42が特定の媒体に浸され、または別途、特定の媒体に接触した後、ある期間を経てそのままに維持された場合には、陰極防食は、同じ特定の媒体内の被防食物体10に対しては、おそらく必要とされないであろう。場合によっては、被防食物体がすでに陰極防食を受けている状況では、陰極防食が十分であることは、接続42が無傷のままでいられるかによって確認されてもよい。すなわち、陽極22は、媒体12内の潜在的に腐食性の電解質の効果をうまく相殺している。更に、電極36と40との間の時間を経た導通を監視することで、接続42の抵抗の増加によって決定される累積するガルバニック腐食が、定性的に得られる。

Claims (4)
- 媒体12と接触する金属製物体10を陰極防食するための陰極防食システム20であって、
前記金属製物体10と電気的につながり、通電されて電流を前記金属製物体10に印加する電源24と、
前記電源24と電気的につながるとともに、前記媒体12と接触する陽極と、
第1のセグメント38、当該第1のセグメント38の端部に連結された第2のセグメント44、当該第2のセグメント44の端部に連結され、前記第2のセグメント44によって前記第1のセグメント38から電気的に絶縁された第3のセグメント36、当該第3のセグメント36における前記第2のセグメント44とは反対側の端部に連結された第4のセグメント42、および当該第4のセグメント42における前記第3のセグメント36とは反対側の端部に連結された第5のセグメント40を含む前記媒体12中の、プローブアセンブリと、
第4のセグメント42は、前記第3のセグメント36と前記第5のセグメント40とを電気的に接続するように導電性材料を含み、且つ、前記媒体12中において、前記第3のセグメント36と前記第5のセグメント40とが電気的に絶縁されるように腐食し、
前記第3のセグメント36と前記金属製物体10との間には、選択的に断線可能な電気的接続52があり、
電気メータが前記金属製物体10と第1のセグメント38につなげられ、そして、前記金属製物体10の分極値が、電気的接続52を開放した後の前記第3のセグメント36の分極値を測定することにより推定されることができる陰極防食システム20。 - さらに前記第1のセグメント38が、被防食物体10上のコーティング欠陥に関係づけられる既知の寸法および形状を有する表面を備え、電流が前記第1のセグメント38に印加された場合に、前記第3のセグメント36の表面と前記第1のセグメント38との間で測定された電位を用いて、前記金属製物体10のためのコーティングに有害となる、またはコーティングが損傷を受ける陰極防食の最大レベルが評価される、請求項1に記載の陰極防食システム20。
- 媒体12と接触する少なくとも一部分を有する金属製物体10の陰極防食を監視する方法であって、
(a)第1のセグメント38、当該第1のセグメント38の端部に連結された第2のセグメント44、当該第2のセグメント44の端部に連結され、前記第2のセグメント44によって前記第1のセグメント38から絶縁された第3のセグメント36、当該第3のセグメント36における前記第2のセグメント44とは反対側の端部に連結され、電気的に腐食する第4のセグメント42、および当該第4のセグメント42における前記第3のセグメント36とは反対側の端部に連結された第5のセグメント40を含むプローブアセンブリ34を準備する過程と、
(b)前記プローブアセンブリ34を前記媒体12内に配置し、前記第1のセグメント38および第3のセグメント36が前記媒体12と直接接触するようにする過程と、
(c)電流が金属製物体10に印加されている間に、前記第3のセグメント36と金属製物体10との間の電気的接続を提供する過程と、
(d)前記第3のセグメント36と金属製物体10との間の電気的接続を遮断する過程と、
(e)前記第1のセグメント38および前記第3のセグメント36の間の分極を測定する過程と、
(f)前記過程(e)に基づいて、金属製物体10に提供される陰極防食の量を推定する過程とを含む、金属製物体10の陰極防食を監視する方法。 - 前記金属製物体10に印加される電流量を調整する過程を更に特徴とする、請求項3に記載の方法。
