前記カバー部材の背面側に配置されるGIP構造の液晶パネルと、
前記カバー部材と前記液晶パネルとの間に介在する接着層と、を備え、
前記液晶パネルは、表示領域と、前記表示領域に隣接しゲート駆動回路を搭載するIC搭載領域と、を有し、
前記表示領域は、前記IC搭載領域に隣接する第1の端部と、前記第1の端部とは反対側の第2の端部と、を有し、
前記第1の端部から前記第2の端部へ向かう方向の湾曲における、前記第1の端部での第1の曲率は、前記第2の端部での第2の曲率よりも小さいことを特徴とする。
図2は、本発明の第1の実施の形態に係る液晶表示装置1Aを示す図である。図3は、液晶表示装置1Aの分解斜視図である。図4は、液晶表示装置1Aの長手方向に沿う断面図である。図4Bは、図4Aの領域Aを拡大して示している。なお、図4では、バックライト14が省略されている。
図5は、本発明の第2の実施の形態に係る液晶表示装置1Bの長手方向に沿う断面図である。図5Bは、図5Aの領域Bを拡大して示している。なお、図5では、バックライト14が省略されている。第1の実施の形態と同一又は対応する構成要素については、同じ符号を付し、説明を省略する。

Claims (5)
- 表示面が湾曲する曲面形状のカバー部材と、
前記カバー部材の背面側に配置されるGIP構造の液晶パネルと、
前記カバー部材と前記液晶パネルとの間に介在する接着層と、を備え、
前記液晶パネルは、表示領域と、前記表示領域に隣接しゲート駆動回路を搭載するIC搭載領域と、を有し、
前記表示領域は、前記IC搭載領域に隣接する第1の端部と、前記第1の端部とは反対側の第2の端部と、を有し、
前記第1の端部から前記第2の端部へ向かう方向の湾曲における、前記第1の端部での第1の曲率は、前記第2の端部での第2の曲率よりも小さいことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 前記第1の端部の曲率は0であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記カバー部材は、所定の曲率で全体的に湾曲し、
前記接着層は、前記第1の曲率が前記第2の曲率よりも小さくなるように、厚みが調整されていることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記カバー部材は、曲面形状の第1の部分と、前記第1の部分よりも曲率が小さい第2の部分を有し、
前記液晶パネルは、前記第1の端部が前記第2の部分に対応し、前記第2の端部が前記第1の部分に対応するように、前記カバー部材と平行に配置されていることを特徴とすることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記液晶パネル及び前記ゲート駆動回路の動作を制御する表示用駆動回路を実装したプリント配線基板を備え、
前記プリント配線基板は、前記IC搭載領域側から前記液晶パネルの背面側に回り込んで固定されることを特徴とする請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載の液晶表示装置。
