Description

The present invention relates to a crimp terminal having a pair of crimp pieces to be crimped to a conductor portion of an electric wire.

Conventionally, the crimp terminal is electrically connected to the conductor portion of the electric wire by being crimped to the conductor portion exposed at the terminal portion of the electric wire.

For example, Patent Literature 1 includes a crimping portion that is crimped to a terminal portion of an electric wire, a mating connection portion that is connected to a connection partner of the electric wire, a crimping portion, and a connecting portion that connects the mating connection portion. In the terminal, the connecting part has a structure that is not easily affected by the deformation of the crimping part, and the deformation of the mating connection part connected to the joining part is prevented, thereby preventing the electrical connection stability with the connection partner from being lowered. Terminals are listed.

Further, in Patent Document 2, the tip portions of the pair of crimping pieces are folded and overlapped to prevent the tip portions from entering between a plurality of strands constituting the conductor portion, and the pair of crimping pieces are spring-backed. Describes a terminal fitting (crimp terminal) that is prevented from being opened.

By the way, the crimp terminal is generally formed by subjecting a plate-shaped metal member to a pressing process and a bending process.

特開2015−207436号公報JP, 2015-207436, A 特開2013―122868号公報JP 2013-122868 A

However, since the conventional crimp terminal described above tends to generate burrs at the end in the pressing process, if burrs are generated at the tip of the pair of crimp pieces of the crimp terminal, the crimp terminal is crimped to the conductor portion of the electric wire. When doing so, the burrs generated at the tip of the pair of crimping pieces may damage the conductor part, resulting in a decrease in the electrical connection stability between the crimping terminal and the electric wire.

This invention is made | formed in view of the above, Comprising: It aims at providing the crimp terminal which can improve the reliability of the electrical connection with an electric wire.

In order to solve the above-described problems and achieve the object, a crimp terminal according to claim 1 of the present invention is a crimp terminal including a pair of crimp pieces that are crimped to a conductor portion of an electric wire. The crimping piece is provided with a stepped portion by a thin portion formed at the tip portion to a thickness of one step up to the tip surface, and the thinned portion is folded back at the stepped portion, and the outer surface of the thinned portion is folded back. Further, a taper portion is formed so that the thickness of the thin portion decreases toward the tip surface.

In the crimp terminal according to claim 1 of the present invention, the pair of crimp pieces is provided with a step portion by a thin portion formed at the tip portion by a thickness one step down to the tip surface, and the thin portion is provided at the step portion. And the tapered portion is formed so that the thickness of the thin portion decreases toward the tip surface on the outer surface of the thin portion, and thus the thin portion of the pair of pressure-bonding pieces. Is folded at the stepped portion, the tapered lower end portion of the taper portion is hardly protruded from the surface of the crimping piece to be crimped to the conductor portion, and the burr is formed in this portion. When the conductor crimping part is crimped to the conductor part by being consolidated into a strip shape in the press process for forming the taper part, the burr is not in contact with the conductor part. To prevent damage and, as a result, It is possible to improve the reliability of the electrical connection between the.

The conductor crimping portion 30 includes a bottom wall 31 and a pair of crimping pieces 32 and 32 erected on both edges of the bottom wall 31.
The pair of crimping pieces 32, 32 are provided with a stepped portion 34 by a thin portion 33 formed on the tip end portion 32 a to a thickness of one step up to the tip end surface 32 b, and the thin portion 33 is folded back on the stepped portion 34, and The tapered portion 33b is formed on the outer surface 33a of the thin portion 33 so that the thickness of the thin portion 33 decreases toward the tip end surface 32b.

In such a conductor crimping portion 30, the burr b is formed in a strip shape around the end surface (tip surface 32b) of the taper portion 33b as shown in FIG. 2 by forming the taper portion 33b in the pressing process. Become aggregated.

This is the portion that is most difficult to project from the conductor crimping surface 32c, which is the surface on the other side.
The burr b is concentrated in the vicinity of the edge surface 32b of the tapered portion 33b, so that the burr b is not in contact with the conductor portion 81 when the conductor crimp portion 30 is crimped to the conductor portion 81. It has become.

The covering crimping portion 40 includes a bottom wall 41 and a pair of crimping pieces 42 and 42 erected on both edges of the bottom wall 41.
Hereinafter, when the crimping piece 32 of the conductor crimping part 30 is distinguished from the crimping piece 42 of the covering crimping part 40, the “crimping piece 32” of the conductor crimping part 30 is referred to as “conductor-side crimping piece 32”.

Such a crimp terminal 1 is formed into a predetermined shape before being crimped to the electric wire 80 by subjecting the plate-like metal member B to a pressing process and a bending process.

Here, using FIG. 4 and FIG. 5, about the process of shape | molding the crimp terminal 1 in the predetermined shape before crimping | bonding to the electric wire 80 by giving a press process and a bending process to the plate-shaped metal member B. FIG. explain.
4A, 4B, and 4C are diagrams for explaining the contents of the pressing step, and FIG. 4D is a diagram for explaining the contents of the bending step. FIG. 5 is a diagram for explaining a punching process as a pressing process.

As a pressing process, first, the punching process (refer FIG.4 (b)) is given to the plate-shaped metal member B with the press apparatus 100. FIG.
When the punching process is performed on the plate-shaped metal member B, as shown in FIG. 5, a burr b is generated at the end of the punching process completed product B1.
For this reason, burr | flash b generate | occur | produces also in the edge part of a pair of conductor side crimping pieces 32 and 32. FIG.
In this punching step, the step 34 is also formed.

After the punching process, as a pressing process, a taper forming process (see FIG. 4C) is performed on the blanking process completed product B1.
The taper forming step is a step for forming the taper portion 33b on the pair of conductor side crimping pieces 32, 32, and the jig A is pressed against the ends of the conductor side crimping pieces 32, 32, thereby the taper portion 33b. Is a step of molding.
By this taper forming process, the burr b receives a pressing force from the jig A and is moved to the tapered lower end part 33b1 of the taper part 33b, so that the burr b is generated at the end part of each conductor side crimping piece 32, 32 in the punching process. The burr b is concentrated in a strip shape at the tapered lower end portion 33b1 of the tapered portion 33b.

Thereafter, the plate-like metal member B is subjected to a bending process.
As shown in FIG. 1, the crimping terminal 1 has a substantially U-shaped configuration in which the conductor crimping portion 30 and the covering crimping portion 40 are opened at the distal ends of the pair of crimping pieces 32, 32, 42, 42 as shown in FIG. Will be bent.
In this bending step, the thin portion 33 of the pair of conductor-side crimping pieces 32, 32 is folded back to the step portion 34 (see FIG. 4D).
As described above, when the thin portion 33 of the pair of conductor side crimping pieces 32, 32 is folded back to the step portion 34, the periphery of the tapered lower end portion 33b1 of the taper portion 33b is disposed at a position where it is most difficult to protrude from the conductor crimping surface 32c. In addition, the burr b gathered in a strip shape around the tapered lower end portion 33 b 1 of the tapered portion 33 b is prevented from contacting the conductor portion 81.

Next, a terminal crimping process in which the crimp terminal 1 is crimped to the electric wire 80 will be described with reference to FIGS. 6 and 7.
6A is a view showing a state before the crimping terminal 1 is set in the terminal crimping apparatus 200 and the crimper 220 is started to descend toward the anvil 210. FIG. 6B is a diagram showing the crimper 220 being the anvil. It is the figure which showed the state by which crimping | compression-bonding terminal 1 was crimped to the electric wire 80 by moving to 210 to the completion completion position. FIG. 7 is an enlarged view of the periphery of the step portion of one crimping piece 32 of the pair of crimping pieces 32, 32 shown in FIG. 6 (b).
The terminal crimping apparatus 200 used in this terminal crimping process has a pair of anvil 210 and a crimper 220 that are opposed to each other to crimp the crimp terminal 1 to the electric wire 80 in a predetermined shape. Thus, the crimper 220 is driven so as to be separated from and connected to the anvil 210 by a drive mechanism (not shown).

In this terminal crimping process, first, the terminal mounting of the anvil 210 is performed in a state where the crimping portion 20 of the crimping terminal 1 that has undergone a series of processes from the pressing process to the bending process has the electric wire 80 set on the surface on the folding side. It is mounted on the surface 210a (see FIG. 6A).
Here, the crimp terminal 1 is in a state where a portion 33 c where the thin portion 33 of the pair of conductor-side crimp pieces 32, 32 is folded is directed to the opening 220 a of the crimper 220.
In addition, although the part crimped | bonded to the electric wire 80 differs from the conductor crimping part 30 about the covering crimping part 40, since it deform | transforms similarly to the conductor crimping part 30 by the anvil 210 and the crimper 220, the description is abbreviate | omitted.

When the crimper 220 is lowered toward the anvil 210 from the state shown in FIG. 6A, the portion where the pair of conductor side crimping pieces 32, 32 are folded back is brought into sliding contact with the bending guide surface 220 b of the crimper 220. When the bending is started and the crimper 220 reaches the lowering completion position toward the anvil 210, the crimping terminal 1 is crimped to the electric wire 80 (see FIG. 6B).
Here, the burr b is concentrated in a strip shape around the tapered lower end portion 33b1 of the taper portion 33b of the pair of conductor side crimping pieces 32, 32, and is disposed at a position where it is most difficult to protrude from the conductor crimping surface 32c. The burr b is brought into contact with the conductor part 81 after the pair of conductor side crimping pieces 32, 32 starts to bend while being in sliding contact with the bending guide surface 220 b of the crimper 220 until the conductor part 81 is completely crimped. There is no.

In the crimp terminal 1 according to the embodiment of the present invention, a pair of conductor-side crimp pieces 32 and 32 are provided with a step portion 34 by a thin portion 33 in which the tip portion 32a is formed with a thickness one step down to the tip surface 32b. The thin portion 33 is folded back to the step portion 34, and the tapered portion 33b is formed on the outer surface 33a of the thin portion 33 so that the thickness of the thin portion 33 decreases toward the front end surface 32b. When the thin portion 33 of the pair of conductor side crimping pieces 32, 32 is folded back at the step portion 34, the taper portion 33b tapers from the surface 32c of the conductor side crimping pieces 32, 32 on the side to be crimped to the conductor portion 81. The periphery of the lower end portion 33b1 is the most difficult portion to be protruded, and the burr b is concentrated in a strip shape in the pressing step for forming the tapered portion 33b, so that the conductor crimping portion 30 becomes the conductor portion 81. When crimping, Since b is not contacted to the conductor portion 81, prevents the conductive portion 81 by a validator b is damaged, as a result, it is possible to improve the reliability of the electrical connection between the wire 80.
