レセプタクルコネクタのレセプタクルハウジングの底壁から立ち上がり該レセプタクルハウジングの長手方向に延びる一対の側壁のそれぞれに保持されたレセプタクル端子に対して接続されるプラグ端子が上記長手方向に延びるプラグハウジングに保持されていて上記レセプタクルコネクタが嵌合接続されるプラグコネクタにおいて、
プラグ端子をシールドするプラグシールド部材がプラグハウジングにより保持されており、
上記プラグシールド部材は、プラグハウジングから離間した位置で該プラグハウジングの長手方向に延びる一対の側板部を有し、各側板部とプラグハウジングとの間に、レセプタクルハウジングの側壁を受け入れる受入空間を形成し、短手方向に見たときに各側板部が対応のプラグ端子の少なくとも一部を覆っており、
側板部は、二つの脚部を有する屈曲形状断面をもち、該二つの脚部が上記短手方向で離間もしくは接面していて二重構造をなしていることを特徴とするプラグコネクタ。
