Abstract
【解決手段】 この中性子照射装置100は、陽子ビームを導入する導入管1と、当該導入管1の下端に設けたターゲット構造2と、当該ターゲット構造2の下方であって当該ターゲット構造2で発生した中性子の照射経路に配置したフッ化アルミニウム層3と、当該フッ化アルミニウム層3の下に積層した重水層4とを有する。フッ化アルミニウム層3は、熱外中性子が増加する厚さに設定する。フッ化アルミニウム層3のみでは、厚さが増しすぎるので、重水を設置する。重水により、中性子は素早く減速され、厚みを増やすことなく、熱外中性子を増やすことができる。このフッ化アルミニウム層3及び重水層4の組み合わせによれば、高速中性子のみを減衰して熱外中性子を増加させ、熱中性子を増やさないようにすることができる。この結果、熱外中性子が多い中性子束を得られる。

Claims (5)
- 陽子ビームを照射したターゲットで生じる中性子の照射経路に、
フッ化アルミニウム、フッ化マグネシウム又はフルエンタルを含むフッ化層と、
重水素を含む重水素層と、
を積層配置したことを特徴とする中性子制御装置。 - 更に、前記重水層の下流に板状のカドミウムからなる第一中性子吸収体を設けたことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の中性子制御装置。
- 更に、前記第一中性子吸収体の下流に鉛板を配置したことを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の中性子制御装置。
- 更に、前記第一中性子吸収体の周囲に板状のホウ素又はリチウムを含む第二中性子吸収体を設けたことを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれか一つに記載の中性子制御装置。
- 陽子ビームを導入する陽子ビーム導入管と、
陽子ビーム導入管の先端に設けたターゲットと、
当該ターゲットの周囲に配置した黒鉛体と、
前記陽子ビーム導入管の先端に設けた請求項1〜4のいずれか一つの中性子制御装置と、
黒鉛体及び中性子制御装置を囲むように配置したホウ酸水その他の中性子減速材を導入する中性子減速タンクと、
からなることを特徴とする中性子照射装置。
