Abstract
【解決手段】本発明は、機内ブロードバンド移動体通信サービスを提供するための地上ベースの通信システムであって、地上ベースの基地局の上方及び周辺に三次元空間を形成するセルを生成するように構成された、地上ベースの基地局を備え、該地上ベースの基地局は更に、空間分割多元接続(SDMA)を使用するセルによって範囲に含まれる空間内の飛行機にサービスを提供するために、セルを定義するビームを生成するための2次元ビーム形成を使用するために構成された、アンテナ・アレイを備え、地上ベースの基地局は、2次元ビーム形成によって生成されたビームを用いて、飛行機を追跡するように構成される。

Claims (25)
- 機内ブロードバンド移動体通信サービスを提供するための地上ベースの通信システム(1a)であって、該通信システムは、
地上ベースの基地局(2)の上方及び周辺に三次元空間を形成する少なくとも1つのセル(C1、C2)を生成するように構成された、少なくとも1つの地上ベースの前記基地局(2)を備え、該地上ベースの基地局(2)は更に、
空間分割多元接続(SDMA)を使用する前記少なくとも1つのセル(C1、C2)によって範囲に含まれる空間内の少なくとも1つの飛行機(8a〜c、8c〜e)にサービスを提供するために、前記少なくとも1つのセル(C1、C2)を定義する少なくとも1つのビーム(6a〜c、7a〜c)を生成するための2次元ビーム形成を使用するために構成された、少なくとも1つのアンテナ・アレイ(5a、5a)を備え、
前記地上ベースの基地局(2)は、前記2次元ビーム形成によって生成された前記少なくとも1つのビームを用いて、前記少なくとも1つの飛行機(8a〜c、8c〜e)を追跡するように構成された、通信システム(1a)。 - 少なくとも1つの前記地上ベースの基地局(2)をコア・ネットワーク(3)に接続するように構成されたゲートウェイ(4)を更に備える、請求項1に記載の地上ベースの通信システム。
- 前記2次元ビーム形成によって生成された前記少なくとも1つのビームが、対応する前記飛行機を追跡することを容易にするための飛行機固有の適応ビーム(6a〜c、7a〜c)を備える、請求項1に記載の地上ベースの通信システム。
- 前記2次元ビーム形成によって生成された前記少なくとも1つのビームが複数のビーム格子を含み、該複数のビーム格子に対して、該複数のビーム格子からの好ましいビームの選択が行なわれ、該選択が、対応する前記飛行機を追跡することと合わせて、ある時間に亘って繰り返される、請求項1に記載の地上ベースの通信システム。
- 前記地上ベースの基地局(2)が、飛行機移動データを使用して、前記少なくとも1つのアンテナ(9)によって送受信された信号のドップラー補償および/または周波数変換を実行するように構成された、請求項1に記載の地上ベースの通信システム。
- 前記地上ベースの基地局(2)が、多重化されたデータを前記少なくとも1つの飛行機と交換するように構成された、請求項1に記載の地上ベースの通信システム。
- 機内ブロードバンド移動体通信サービスを飛行機に提供するための飛行機機器(1b)であって、該飛行機機器(1b)は、
地上ベースの基地局(2)を有する地上ベースの通信システム(1a)を相手にユーザ・データを交換するように構成された、少なくとも1つのアンテナ(9)と、
前記地上ベースの基地局(2)との空対地通信および地対空通信を扱うように構成され、前記少なくとも1つのアンテナ(9)に接続されたトランシーバ・ユニット(11)と、
前記飛行機(8a)内の端末装置(13a〜c)に前記ユーザ・データを配信し、そして、該端末装置(13a〜c)から該ユーザ・データを配信するように構成された、飛行機内通信システム(12)と、
前記トランシーバ・ユニット(11)と前記飛行機内通信システム(12)との間で通信する相互通信ユニット(14)とを備え、
前記地上ベースの基地局(2)は、
前記地上ベースの基地局(2)の上方及び周辺に三次元空間を形成する少なくとも1つのセルを定義するための少なくとも1つのビームを生成するために、2次元ビーム形成を用いるように構成され、且つ、
空間分割多元接続(SDMA)を使用する前記少なくとも1つのセル(C1、C2)の範囲内の前記飛行機(8a〜c、8c〜e)にサービスを提供するように構成され、且つ、
前記2次元ビーム形成によって生成された前記少なくとも1つのビームを用いて、前記飛行機(8a〜c、8c〜e)を追跡するように構成される、
飛行機機器(1b)。 - 前記少なくとも1つのアンテナ(9)は前記飛行機(8a)の外殻(17)の外側に配置され、前記機内通信システム(12)は、前記飛行機(8a)の前記外殻(17)の内側に配置される、請求項7に記載の飛行機機器(1b)。
- 前記少なくとも1つのアンテナ(9)は、機械的に操向される指向性アンテナまたは2次元ビーム形成アンテナ・アレイを含む、請求項7に記載の飛行機機器(1b)。
- 前記機内通信システム(12)が機上無線通信システムを具備し、該機上無線通信システムが、
前記飛行機(8a)内でセル(C3)を生成するための少なくとも1つの機上基地局(15)を備える、
請求項7に記載の飛行機機器(1b)。 - 前記機上無線通信システムが、GSM、UMTS、およびLTEを含むグループの内の少なくとも1つの無線通信標準に準拠する、請求項10に記載の飛行機機器(1b)。
- 前記機内通信システム(12)が、WLANシステムを含む、請求項7に記載の飛行機機器(1b)。
- 前記機内通信システム(12)が、
前記飛行機(8a)内に設置された複数の飛行機運用者所有の端末装置(13a〜c)を備える、

- 前記トランシーバ・ユニット(11)が、多重化されたデータを前記地上ベースの基地局(2)と交換するように構成された、請求項7に記載の飛行機機器(1b)。
- 前記2次元ビーム形成によって生成された前記少なくとも1つのビームが、前記飛行機を追跡することを容易にするための飛行機固有の適応ビーム(6a〜c、7a〜c)を備える、請求項7に記載の飛行機機器(1b)。
- 前記2次元ビーム形成によって生成された前記少なくとも1つのビームが複数のビーム格子を含み、該複数のビーム格子に対して、該複数のビーム格子からの好ましいビームの選択が行なわれ、該選択が、対応する前記飛行機を追跡することと合わせて、ある時間に亘って繰り返される、請求項7に記載の飛行機機器(1b)。
- 対応する前記機械的に操向される指向性アンテナまたは2次元ビーム形成アンテナ・アレイが、前記地上ベースの基地局(2)を追跡するように構成された、請求項9に記載の飛行機機器(1b)。
- 前記飛行機移動データが、GPS受信機(18)又は前記飛行機の航法システムから、飛行機機器(1b)によって受信される、請求項15に記載の飛行機機器(1b)。
- 機内ブロードバンド移動体通信サービスを提供する方法であって、該方法は、
地上ベースの基地局(2)のアンテナ素子アレイ(5a、5b)から少なくとも1つのビームを生成するために、2次元ビーム形成を実行するステップと、
空間分割多元接続(SDMA)を使用する前記地上ベースの基地局(2)からの前記少なくとも1つのセル(C1、C2)の内の飛行機(8a〜c、8c〜e)にサービスを提供するステップと、
前記2次元ビーム形成によって生成された前記少なくとも1つのビームを用いて、前記地上ベースの基地局(2)から前記飛行機(8a〜c、8c〜e)を追跡するステップと、
を備え、
前記少なくとも1つのビームは、前記地上ベースの基地局(2)の上方及び周辺に三次元空間を形成する少なくとも1つのセルを定義する、方法。 - 前記2次元ビーム形成によって生成された前記少なくとも1つのビームが、前記飛行機を追跡することを容易にするための飛行機固有の適応ビーム(6a〜c、7a〜c)を備える、請求項21に記載の方法。
- 前記2次元ビーム形成によって生成された前記少なくとも1つのビームが複数のビーム格子を含み、該複数のビーム格子に対して、該複数のビーム格子からの好ましいビームの選択が行なわれ、該選択が、対応する前記飛行機を追跡することと合わせて、ある時間に亘って繰り返される、請求項21に記載の方法。
- 前記地上ベースの基地局(2)が、飛行機移動データを使用して、前記少なくとも1つのアンテナ(9)によって送受信された信号のドップラー補償および/または周波数変換を実行するように構成された、請求項21に記載の方法。
- 前記飛行機移動データが、GPS受信機(18)又は前記飛行機の航法システムによって生成され、前記飛行機から前記地上ベースの基地局(2)によって受信される、請求項24に記載の方法。
