Abstract
Description
Claims (15)
- 光を供給する発光素子と、
映像信号から映像深度情報を抽出する映像深度抽出部と、
前記映像深度情報から明度を算出する明度算出部と、
前記算出された明度によって、前記発光素子の明度を制御する制御部と、を含むバックライト・ユニット。 - 前記発光素子は、隣接する複数個の発光素子を含むブロック単位で制御されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のバックライト・ユニット。
- 前記制御部は、前記発光素子に印加される電圧を調節して明度を制御することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のバックライト・ユニット。
- 前記制御部は、PWM(pulse width modulation)方式で、前記発光素子の明度を制御することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のバックライト・ユニット。
- 前記明度算出部は、映像を複数個の領域に分割し、各領域に係わる明度を算出することを特徴とする請求項1ないし請求項4のうち、いずれか一項に記載のバックライト・ユニット。
- 前記明度算出部は、映像の深度が深くなるほど明度を低く、映像の深度が浅いほど明度を高く算出することを特徴とする請求項1ないし請求項4のうち、いずれか一項に記載のバックライト・ユニット。
- 映像信号を生成する映像ボードと、
前記映像ボードの映像信号によって映像を表示するディスプレイパネルと、
前記ディスプレイパネルに光を供給する発光素子と、
前記映像ボードから獲得された映像信号から映像深度情報を抽出する映像深度抽出部と、
前記映像深度情報から明度を算出する明度算出部と、
前記算出された明度によって、前記発光素子の明度を制御する制御部と、を含むディスプレイ装置。 - 前記発光素子は、隣接する複数個の発光素子を含むブロック単位で制御されることを特徴とする請求項7に記載のディスプレイ装置。
- 前記制御部は、前記発光素子に印加される電圧を調節して明度を制御することを特徴とする請求項7に記載のディスプレイ装置。
- 前記制御部は、PWM(pulse width modulation)方式で、前記発光素子の明度を制御することを特徴とする請求項7に記載のディスプレイ装置。
- 前記明度算出部は、映像を複数個の領域に分割し、各領域に係わる明度を算出することを特徴とする請求項7ないし請求項10のうち、いずれか一項に記載のディスプレイ装置。
- 前記明度算出部は、映像の深度が深くなるほど明度を低く、映像の深度が浅いほど明度を高く算出することを特徴とする請求項7ないし請求項10のうち、いずれか一項に記載のディスプレイ装置。
- 映像信号から映像深度情報を抽出する段階と、
前記映像深度情報によって、複数個の映像領域に係わる明度を算出する段階と、
前記算出された明度に対応させ、発光素子の明度を制御する段階と、を含むバックライト・ユニット制御方法。 - 前記明度を算出する段階は、映像の深度が深くなるほど明度を低く、映像の深度が浅いほど明度を高く算出することを含むことを特徴とする請求項13に記載のバックライト・ユニット制御方法。
- 前記明度を算出する段階は、前記映像深度情報に対応するルックアップ・テーブルを含むことを特徴とする請求項13に記載のバックライト・ユニット制御方法。
