Description
本出願は、2010年7月20日出願の、発明の名称が「比色センサを有する血液培養ボトル用検出装置(Detector Arrangement for Blood Culture Bottles With Colorimetric Sensors)」である、米国仮特許出願第61/400,001号の優先権の利益を主張し、参照によりその開示全体を本明細書に援用する。

Claims (10)
- 血液培養ボトル内の試料媒体のpH又はCO2の変化に起因する色の変化の影響を受ける比色センサが組み込まれた血液培養ボトル用の検出装置であって、該検出装置は、
前記比色センサを照らすセンサLEDと、
前記比色センサを照らす基準LEDと、
前記センサLED及び前記基準LEDを選択的且つ交互に作動させる制御回路と、
前記センサLED及び前記基準LEDが前記比色センサが選択的且つ交互に照らす間に、前記比色センサからの反射率を測定して、輝度信号を生成する、光検出器と、を備え、
前記基準LEDは、照射のピーク波長が、前記基準LEDの照射による前記光検出器の前記輝度信号が前記比色センサの前記色の変化により実質的に影響されないように選択される、ことを特徴とする、検出装置。 - 前記基準LEDは、照射のピーク波長が750nm及び900nmの間であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の検出装置。
- 前記輝度信号を受信するコンピュータを更に備え、該コンピュータは、前記検出装置に関して、前記基準LEDについての輝度信号間の較正関係を、定位置からの前記ボトルの距離の関数として保存することを特徴とするメモリを含むことを特徴とする、請求項1又は2に記載の検出装置。
- 前記メモリは、前記センサLEDについての輝度信号間の較正関係を、前記定位置からの距離の関数として更に保存し、
前記コンピュータは、前記ボトルが前記定位置から遠ざかった位置に配置されたことに起因する前記センサLEDからの信号の輝度の低下を、前記センサLEDと前記基準LEDとの較正関係に従って補償することを特徴とする、
請求項4に記載の検出装置。 - 血液培養ボトル内の試料媒体のpH又はCO2の変化に起因する色の変化の影響を受ける、血液培養ボトルに組み込まれた比色センサの検出方法であって、該検出方法は、
センサLED及び基準LEDによって、前記比色センサを交互且つ反復的に照らすステップと、
前記センサLED及び前記基準LEDによって前記比色センサを照らしたことによる前記比色センサからの反射率を、応答して輝度信号を生成する光検出器で測定するステップと、を含み、
前記基準LEDは、照射のピーク波長が、前記基準LEDの照射による前記光検出器の前記輝度信号が前記比色センサの前記色の変化により実質的に影響されないように選択される、ことを特徴とする、方法。 - 前記基準LEDは、照射のピーク波長が750nm及び900nmの間であることを特徴とする、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 前記センサLED、前記基準LED、及び前記光検出装置に関して、前記基準LEDについての輝度信号間の較正関係を、定位置からの前記ボトルの距離の関数として、コンピュータメモリに保存するステップを更に含むことを特徴とする、請求項5又は6に記載の方法。
- 前記センサLED、前記基準LED、及び前記光検出装置に関して、前記センサLEDについての輝度信号間の較正関係を、前記定位置からの距離の関数として、前記コンピュータメモリに保存するステップを更に含むことを特徴とする、請求項5、6、又は7に記載の方法。
- 前記ボトルが前記定位置から遠ざかった位置に配置されたことに起因する前記センサLEDからの信号の輝度の低下を、前記センサLEDと前記基準LEDとの較正関係に従って補償するステップを更に含むことを特徴とする、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 前記補償するステップは、前記基準LEDについての前記較正関係を用いて前記ボトルの移動量を算出し、前記光検出器からの前記輝度信号を調整して、前記移動量によって前記ボトルの前記移動を修正するステップを含むことを特徴とする、請求項9に記載の方法。
