Description
図1Aにおいて、血液収集チューブ100は、概略的にはチューブ110、栓120およびセパレーター物質150からなり、チューブ110は内腔115を有する。チューブ110は、好ましくは、内腔115内の真空を維持するために、適切な剛体材料で製造される。材料の例としては、硬質プラスチック、ガラスまたはその他の同様な材料が挙げられる。内腔115は全血または液体の所望の試料を保持するのに十分な容積である。通常の容積は数ml〜10ml以上の範囲である。栓120は、内腔115の真空を維持するために、チューブ110に十分に隙間なくはまる。栓120は、セパレーター物質150が内腔115内に入っていることを示す、カラーコードまたはその他の表示が得られるように製造されることが考慮される。収集チューブ100の製造に使用され得る許容されるチューブの例としては、Becton,Dickenson and Company (Franklin Lakes,NJ USA 07417)により開発された、Vacutainer(登録商標)標本収集製品が挙げられる。
好ましくは、セパレーター物質150は、ピペットによる貫通、デカンテーションまたは凍結にも耐え得る硬度まで、最終重合の間に急速に硬化する。好適な物質は、プローブ、あるいはピペットに対して堅固である。
好適なセパレーター物質は、血液試料の血清画分または細胞含有画分の1つまたは複数の分析物の安定性を長時間保持する。分析物の安定性を維持することにより、長期保管、試料の輸送または後の分析が可能となる。例えば、血液試料を遠隔地で収集してから、数日、あるいは数週間かかる場所にある実験室へ送ることができる。
本発明の主題の好適な実施形態は、主として血液収集チューブを中心とするが、本明細書に提供されるシステム、装置および方法は、血液収集チューブ以外の別の業界にも適用され得ることを理解するべきである。本明細書に開示されるものと同様の技術も、2つ以上の構成相を有する、ほぼあらゆる流体を分離するために使用され得る。例えば、セパレーター物質を提供して、尿、水試料、油、ワインまたはその他の多相流体を含めた流体を分離することができる。3つ以上の相を有する流体に関しては、収集チューブは、その流体の少なくとも3つの相を分離するために使用される2つ以上のセパレーター物質を含有し得ることが考慮される。
Claims (15)
- 血液収集チューブであって、
内腔を有するチューブと、
内腔内に入れられ、遠心分離の際に血液試料を少なくとも血清画分と細胞含有画分とに分離するように適合されたセパレーター物質と
を含み、前記チューブが遠心分離後に、血液のカリウムレベルを少なくとも4日間、初期カリウムレベルから10%の範囲内に維持し、かつ血液のグルコースレベルを初期グルコースレベルから5%の範囲内に維持する血液収集チューブ。 - 前記物質が実質的に透明である、請求項1に記載のチューブ。
- 前記物質が色を含む、請求項1に記載のチューブ。
- 前記色が、チューブのキャップに関連する色とほぼ一致する、請求項3に記載のチューブ。
- 前記物質が遠心分離後に、プローブに対して堅固である、請求項1に記載のチューブ。
- 前記物質が、適切なエネルギー源に曝露されたときに、ショア00硬度スケールで少なくとも1の硬度まで硬化可能な、請求項1に記載のチューブ。
- 前記チューブが遠心分離後に、凍結−融解事象を越えて血液のカリウムレベルを10%の範囲内に維持し、かつ血液のグルコースレベルを5%の範囲内に維持する、請求項1に記載のチューブ。
- 前記物質が遠心分離後に、可視的に捕捉された細胞を有しない、請求項1に記載のチューブ。
- 前記チューブが、遠心分離後に少なくとも5日間、カリウムレベルを10%の範囲内に維持し、かつグルコースレベルを5%の範囲内に維持する、請求項1に記載のチューブ。
- 内腔を有するチューブを提供することと、
遠心分離後に少なくとも4日間、血液試料のカリウムレベルを初期カリウムレベルから10%の範囲内に維持し、かつ血液試料のグルコースレベルを初期グルコースレベルから5%の範囲内に維持するセパレーター物質を提供することと、
ある量のセパレーター物質をチューブの内腔内に入れることと
を含む、血液収集チューブの製造方法。 - 前記チューブを滅菌することをさらに含む、請求項10に記載の方法。
- 前記滅菌段階が、前記チューブをガンマ線に曝露することを含む、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記滅菌段階が、前記チューブを少なくとも250℃まで加熱することを含む、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記物質をショア00硬度スケールで少なくとも1の硬度まで硬化させることをさらに含む、請求項10に記載の方法。
- 前記チューブ内腔内に真空を導入することをさらに含む、請求項10に記載の方法。
