しかし、客席端末は、客席テーブルとは独立して、客席の壁に設置したり、客席テーブル上に置く、立てかけるなどして使用する小型の物であった。これは、例えば4人掛け客席テーブルでは、壁から遠い客は操作やメニューを見るなど出来ない、対面する二人では同時に見ようとすると1人は必ず逆さまや、横からなどの画面で見なくてはならない。多人数では、さらに不便であり、また相席には出来ないと言う問題があった。
