Abstract
【解決手段】本発明の一実施形態に係る液晶表示装置は、互いに対向する第1基板と第2基板、前記第1基板上に配置される複数の信号線、前記複数の信号線に接続されて、互いに分離されている第1画素電極と第2画素電極、及び前記第1基板と前記第2基板との間に介されて、液晶分子を含む液晶層を含み、前記第1副画素電極が占める領域に配置される液晶層に充電される電圧は、前記第2副画素電極が占める領域に配置される液晶層に充電される電圧より低く、前記第1副画素電極の一部と前記第2副画素電極が占める領域は第1色を表示し、前記第1副画素電極の残り一部が占める領域は第2色を表示する。

Claims (9)
- 互いに対向する第1基板と第2基板、
前記第1基板上に配置される複数の信号線、及び
前記複数の信号線に接続されて、互いに分離されている第1画素電極と第2画素電極を含み、
前記第1画素電極及び前記第2画素電極は複数の枝電極を含み、前記第1画素電極の枝電極と前記第2画素電極の枝電極は交互に配置され、
前記第1画素電極及び前記第2画素電極は、隣接する前記第1画素電極の枝電極と前記第2画素電極の枝電極との間の間隔が第1距離である第1領域と、隣接する前記第1画素電極の枝電極と前記第2画素電極の枝電極との間の間隔が前記第1距離より小さい第2距離である第2領域とを含み、
前記第1領域の第1部分と前記第2領域は第1色を表示し、前記第1領域のうちの前記第1部分を除いた第2部分は第2色を表示する液晶表示装置。 - 前記第1色は基本色のうちのいずれか一つであり、前記第2色は白色または黄色であり、
前記第1領域のうちの前記第1部分と前記第2領域にはカラーフィルタが配置され、前記第1領域のうちの前記第2部分にはカラーフィルタが除去される、請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記第2色を表示する面積は、前記第1画素電極及び前記第2画素電極が占める全体面積の20%以内である、請求項1又は2に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第1領域のうちの前記第2色を表示する領域の面積は、前記第1領域のうちの前記第1色を表示する領域の面積の1/2以下である、請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第1領域は、互いに隣接する前記第1画素電極の枝電極と前記第2画素電極の枝電極のと間の間隔が、前記第1距離より大きい第3距離の第3領域をさらに含み、
前記第1領域のうちの前記第2色を表示する領域は前記第3領域である、請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記第3領域の面積は前記第2領域の面積と同一であるか、または小さく、
前記第1領域のうちの互いに隣接する前記第1画素電極の枝電極と前記第2画素電極の枝電極との間の間隔が前記第1距離である領域の面積は、前記第3領域の面積の3倍以上である、請求項5に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記第1領域のうちの前記第1部分と前記第2領域にはカラーフィルタが配置され、前記第1領域のうちの前記第2部分にはカラーフィルタが除去される、請求項6に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記カラーフィルタは前記第1基板上に配置され、
前記カラーフィルタは前記信号線と前記画素電極との間に配置されており、
前記第1領域のうちの前記第2部分には透明な有機絶縁膜が配置される、請求項1〜7のいずれかに記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記カラーフィルタは前記第2基板上に配置される、請求項1〜7のいずれかに記載の液晶表示装置。
