Abstract
【解決手段】ゴルフボール2は、中空のセンター8と、中間層8と、内側カバー12と、外側カバー14とを備えている。センター8は、ゴム組成物が架橋されることで成形されている。このゴム組成物は、基材ポリマーとして、天然ゴムを含む。このゴム組成物は、硫黄を含む。中間層10は、ゴム組成物が架橋されることで成形されている。このゴム組成物の基材ポリマーの主成分は、ポリブタジエンである。センター8の内径は、2mm以上13mm以下である。センター8の外径は、5mm以上15mm以下である。このセンター8において、表面のJIS−C硬度H2は、25以上55以下である。中間層10の表面のJIS−C硬度H4と、中間層の最内部のJIS−C硬度H3との差(H4−H3)は、10以上である。

Description
50質量部のハイシスポリブタジエン(JSR社の商品名「BR−730」)、50質量部の天然ゴム(KR−7)、5質量部の酸化亜鉛、適量のクレー、5質量部のシリカ(東ソー・シリカ社の商品名「Nipsil AQ」、3.4質量部の硫黄、2.20質量部の加硫促進剤(前述の「ノクセラーCZ」)及び2.26質量部の他の加硫促進剤(前述の「ソクシノールDG」)を混練し、ゴム組成物(a)を得た。このゴム組成物(a)を図2に示された金型に投入し、半架橋状態のハーフシェルを得た。このハーフシェルに、塩化アンモニウム、亜硝酸ナトリウム及び水を投入した。このハーフシェルの接合面に、センターのゴム組成物と同組成のゴム組成物が溶剤に溶解したゴム糊を塗布した。このハーフシェルと他のハーフシェルとを突き合わせた。これらハーフシェルを上型及び下型からなる金型に投入し、150℃の温度下で5分間加熱して、内径が3.0mmであり外径が5.0mmである中空のセンターを得た。
センター、中間層、内側カバー及び外側カバーの仕様を下記の表3及び4に示される通りとした他は実施例1と同様にして、実施例2から4及び比較例1から4のゴルフボールを得た。センター及び中間層のゴム組成物の詳細が、下記の表1に示されている。内側カバー及び外側カバーの樹脂組成物の詳細が、下記の表2に示されている。比較例1に係るゴルフボールは、中間層を有さない。
ゴルフラボラトリー社のスイングマシンに、チタンヘッドを備えたドライバー(SRIスポーツ社の商品名「XXIO」、シャフト硬度:R、ロフト角:11.0°)を装着した。ヘッド速度が40m/secである条件でゴルフボールを打撃して、発射地点から静止地点までの距離を測定した。さらに、打撃直後のボール速度及びバックスピン速度も測定した。12回測定されて得られたデータの平均値が、下記の表5に示されている。
上記スイングマシンに、5番アイアン(SRIスポーツ社の商品名「XXIO」、シャフト硬度:R)を装着した。ヘッド速度が34m/secである条件でゴルフボールを打撃して、発射地点から落下地点までの距離を測定した。さらに、打撃直後のボール速度及びバックスピン速度も測定した。12回測定されて得られたデータの平均値が、下記の表5に示されている。

- コアと、このコアの外側に位置するカバーとを備えており、
上記コアが、中空のセンターと、このセンターの外側に位置する中間層とを有しており、
上記センターの内径が2mm以上13mm以下であり、
上記センターの外径が5mm以上15mm以下であり、
上記センターにおいて、表面のJIS−C硬度H2が25以上55以下であり、
上記コアの表面のJIS−C硬度H4と、上記中間層の最内部のJIS−C硬度H3との差(H4−H3)が10以上であるゴルフボール。 - 上記硬度H3と硬度H2との差(H3−H2)が35以下である請求項1に記載のゴルフボール。
- 上記センターの最内部のJIS−C硬度H1が35以下である請求項1又は2に記載のゴルフボール。
- 上記硬度H4と硬度H2との差(H4−H2)が40以上である請求項1から3のいずれかに記載のゴルフボール。
- 上記センターが、ゴム組成物が架橋されることで成形されており、
このゴム組成物が、架橋剤として硫黄を含んでいる請求項1から4のいずれかに記載のゴルフボール。 - 上記センターのためのゴム組成物が、天然ゴムを含んでいる請求項1から5のいずれかに記載のゴルフボール。
- 上記中間層が、ゴム組成物が架橋されることで成形されており、
