Description
独創的な色彩パターン及びこれを含む製品が、磁性顔料を使用して作り出される。磁性顔料は、その形成の間、磁界を使用して製品中で配向され(方向付けされ)、種々の色彩効果と色彩パターンを発生させる。例えば、流体媒体内に磁性有効顔料を導入し、顔料を配向させ、そして媒体を乾燥させるか又は硬化させて成形物品とすることにより独特の色彩パターンが物品に作り出されても良い。
色彩パターン及びこのような色彩パターンを有する製品を製造する方法が提供される。色彩パターンは、磁性顔料を使用して作り出され、ここで磁界を使用して顔料の配向(方向付け:orientation)を行うことが可能である。本願で使用される有効顔料は、磁性の特性を有することになる。このような磁性顔料は、基体(substrate)を有し、基体は、カプセル化(被覆)可能な何れかのプレートレット(platelet)である。有用なプレートレットの例は、マイカ、酸化アルミニウム、ビスマスオキシクロリド、窒化ホウ素、ガラスフレーク、酸化鉄被覆マイカ又はガラス、二酸化珪素、及び二酸化チタン被覆マイカ又はガラスを含む。プレートレットの形状を有する基体のサイズは、それ自体は限定されるものではなく、そして特定の用途に適応させることができる。通常、粒子は平均最大主要寸法(average largest major dimension)が、約5〜500ミクロン、特に5〜100ミクロンであって良い。比表面積(BET)は、通常、0.2〜25m2/gである。
1%Bllack OlieveTM顔料をエポキシ−アミン液又は流動性樹脂に加える。穏やかに3分間攪拌する。顔料と樹脂の混合物をペトリ皿に注ぐ。磁石を皿の中又は皿の下部に配置する。流動性樹脂と顔料の混合物を室温で数時間、硬化させた。樹脂が硬化した後、有効顔料が磁石に引き寄せられる結果として、独特(ユニーク)な色彩パターンが認められた。
1%のMetashine(登録商標)顔料を、エポキシ−アミン液又は流動性樹脂に加える。穏やかに3分間攪拌する。顔料と樹脂の混合物をペトリ皿に注ぐ。磁石を皿の中又は皿の下部に配置する。流動性樹脂と顔料の混合物を室温で数時間、硬化させた。樹脂が硬化した後、有効顔料が磁石に引き寄せられる結果として、独特(ユニーク)な色彩パターンが認められた。
Claims (10)
- 配向された磁化可能な有効顔料を含むことを特徴とする成形プラスチック物品。
- 前記磁化可能な有効顔料が、少なくとも1種の金属層又は酸化金属層で被覆されたプレートレットを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の成形プラスチック物品。
- 前記プレートレットが実質的に透明であることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の成形プラスチック物品。
- 前記プレートレットが、天然マイカ、合成マイカ及びガラスから成る群れから選ばれることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の成形プラスチック物品。
- 前記プレートレットが、その上に2層の酸化金属層を有することを特徴とする請求項4に記載の成形プラスチック物品。
- 前記プレートレットが、その上に金属層を有し、そしてこの金属層の上に酸化金属層を有することを特徴とする請求項4に記載の成形プラスチック物品。
- 請求項1に記載の成形プラスチック物品で製造されたボトル。
- 請求項1に記載された成形プラスチック物品を製造する方法であって、以下の、
(a)少なくとも1層の金属層又は酸化金属層で被覆されているプレートレットを含んでいる磁性有効顔料を、液体プラスチックで処理して液体混合物を形成する工程、
(b)磁界によって、液体混合物中の前記顔料の配向性を変える工程、
(c)配向された液体混合物を成形処理する工程、及び
(d)成形処理された、配向された液体混合物を硬化させる工程、
を含むことを特徴とする方法。 - プレートレットが酸化鉄で被覆されていることを特徴とする請求項8に記載の方法。
- プレートレットがクロム又はその酸化物で被覆されていることを特徴とする請求項8に記載の方法。
