Abstract
【解決手段】排気ガスの流れ方向下流側端面が目封じされた流入側セルと排気ガスの流れ方向上流側端面が目封じされた流出側セルとを備えた複数のフィルタセグメントF1、F2が接合材7によって互いに接合されてなるフィルタ本体部8を有するパティキュレートフィルタ10において、前記パティキュレートフィルタの中央側に位置する前記フィルタセグメントは、前記流入側セルと前記流出側セルの開口面積が略等しく形成され、前記パティキュレートフィルタの外周側に位置する少なくとも1つの前記フィルタセグメントは、前記流入側セルの開口面積が前記流出側セルの開口面積よりも大きく形成されている。

Claims (2)
- 排気ガスの流れ方向下流側端面が目封じされた複数の流入側セルと、排気ガスの流れ方向上流側端面が目封じされた複数の流出側セルと、排気ガスが流れる流通孔を有し前記流入側セルと前記流出側セルとを区画するセル壁とを備えた複数のフィルタセグメントが接合材によって互いに接合されてなるフィルタ本体部と、前記フィルタ本体部の外周を覆う外周コート部とを有するパティキュレートフィルタであって、
前記パティキュレートフィルタの中央側に位置する前記フィルタセグメントは、前記流入側セルと前記流出側セルの開口面積が略等しく形成され、前記パティキュレートフィルタの外周側に位置する前記フィルタセグメントのうちの少なくとも1つの前記フィルタセグメントは、前記流入側セルの開口面積が前記流出側セルの開口面積よりも大きく形成されていることを特徴とするパティキュレートフィルタ。 - 前記パティキュレートフィルタにおいて、前記流入側セルの開口面積が前記流出側セルの開口面積よりも大きく形成された前記フィルタセグメントの占める割合が、25%以上70%以下の範囲であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のパティキュレートフィルタ。
