Claims (9)

を含んでなる方法。 A method for producing staple yarns from filament yarns, comprising:
(A) subjecting the filament yarn to a tension such that the filaments in the yarn are drawn;
(B) subjecting the yarn to a tension of a magnitude such that the filaments in the yarn are not further drawn and will not break;
(C) subjecting the yarn to tensions such that the filaments in the yarn are broken to form staple fibers; and (d) compacting the staple fibers to form staple yarns;
Comprising a method.

を含んでなる装置。 A spinning device for producing staple yarns from filament yarns,
(A) a drawing zone in which the yarn is subjected to a tension that is such that the filaments in the yarn are drawn;
(B) a tension adjusting zone in which the filament yarn is fed from a draw zone and the yarn is subjected to a tension that is such that the filaments in the yarn are not further drawn and broken;
(C) a stretch break zone, wherein the filament yarn is fed from a tension adjustment zone and the yarn is subjected to a tension that is such that the filaments in the yarn are broken to form staple fibers; and (d) the staple A consolidation zone in which fibers are fed from a stretch break zone to consolidate the staple fibers to form staple yarns;
