他の移動体と通信する通信手段を有し、その通信手段により取得した情報に基づいて車両の運転を支援する運転支援装置において、
自車両の直近の交差点の情報を取得する交差点情報取得手段と、
前記直近の交差点が所定の特徴を有する交差点である場合に自車両の運転者にその旨を通知する通知手段と、を備え、
前記通信手段は、前記通知手段による通知後に自車両が前記直近の交差点の手前で停車した場合に通信を行うこと、
を特徴とする運転支援装置。
