Abstract
【解決手段】プロセス方向31沿いにノズルアレイN1のノズルとノズルアレイN2のノズルとが並ぶよう、例えば全幅アレイ型のプリントヘッド12に2本のアレイN1,N2を設ける。アレイN1,N2内の不調ノズルを例えば印刷出力中の欠陥画素の検知によって検知し、方向31沿いにアレイN1内不調ノズルと並ぶアレイN2内ノズル30を作動させる。後者のノズル30も不調ノズルである場合は、アレイN2内の別のノズル30が方向31沿いにアレイN1内不調ノズルと並ぶよう、不調ノズル検知結果に応じアレイN2をアレイN1に対して移動させる。

Claims (3)
- プロセス方向沿いに第1ノズルアレイ内ノズルと第2ノズルアレイ内ノズルとが並ぶように設けられた第1及び第2ノズルアレイと、
上記各ノズルアレイ内の不調ノズルを検知する手段と、
プロセス方向沿いに第1ノズルアレイ内不調ノズルと並ぶ第2ノズルアレイ内ノズルを作動させる手段と、
プロセス方向沿いに第1ノズルアレイ内不調ノズルと並ぶ第2ノズルアレイ内ノズルも不調ノズルである場合に、別の第2ノズルアレイ内ノズルがプロセス方向沿いにその第1ノズルアレイ内不調ノズルと並ぶよう、検知手段の出力に応じ第1ノズルアレイに対して第2ノズルアレイを移動させる手段と、
を備えるインクジェットプリンタ用プリントヘッド。 - 請求項1記載のインクジェットプリンタ用プリントヘッドであって、第2ノズルアレイが第1ノズルアレイに比べ長いインクジェットプリンタ用プリントヘッド。
- 請求項1記載のインクジェットプリンタ用プリントヘッドであって、第2ノズルアレイの機能部分が第1ノズルアレイの機能部分より長いインクジェットプリンタ用プリントヘッド。
