Abstract
【解決手段】トナー担持体と対向して配置され、トナー担持体の担持するトナーで現像する静電潜像を表面に形成する像担持体の表面は、純水に対する接触角が95°以上であることを特徴とする。

Description
トナーと、該トナーを帯電するためのキャリアと、該トナーの帯電極性と逆極性に帯電する逆極性粒子とを含む現像剤と、該現像剤を表面に担持搬送する現像剤担持体と、該現像剤担持体と対向して現像剤担持体上の現像剤中から分離されたトナーを担持搬送するトナー担持体と、
前記トナー担持体と対向して配置され、前記トナー担持体の担持するトナーで現像される静電潜像を表面に担持する像担持体と、を有する画像形成装置であって、
前記像担持体の表面は、純水に対する接触角が95°以上であることを特徴とする画像形成装置。
前記像担持体の表層にはフッ素樹脂粒子を含有することを特徴とする1に記載の画像形成装置。
液滴滴下速度:10μl/sec
液滴量:5μl
測定回数:液滴滴下点を変えて、同一表面n=5測定
手順:テストピースに、マイクロシリンジから純水を5μl滴下し、滴下から30sec後の液滴の形状から接触角=(θ1+θ2)/2を室温で計測した。図4は像担持体1の表面の測定例を示した図である。
(実施例1)
実施例1で使用した感光体を以下に記す。
(実施例2)
像担持体1のオーバーコート層のポリテトラフルオロエチレンを100部とした以外は実施例1と同じである。尚、実施例2で使用した像担持体1の表面の純水との接触角は105°であった。
(比較例1)
オーバーコート層の無い像担持体1を用いた以外は、実施例1と同じである。尚、像担持体1の電荷輸送層は、オーバーコートが無いため層厚を25μmに設定したものを使用した。尚、同像担持体1の表面層の純水との接触角は80°であった。
(評価1)
上記の実施例および比較例ともに画像面積率を0%(白紙)のA4横を10枚プリントし、11枚目の面積率0%の画像の形成途中で強制的に稼動を停止して、現像後で転写前の像担持体1に付着した逆極性粒子を4箇所、SEMで観察し、比較した。表1に観察結果を示す。観察は、像担持体1の表面をSEMで2万倍の倍率にして、1画面あたりの逆極性粒子の数を比較した。
(評価2)
上記の実施例1と2および比較例1ともに画像面積率を3%として5万枚の耐久試験を実施した。表2は、耐久前後におけるトナー帯電量を示したものである。

- トナーと、該トナーを帯電するためのキャリアと、該トナーの帯電極性と逆極性に帯電する逆極性粒子とを含む現像剤と、該現像剤を表面に担持搬送する現像剤担持体と、該現像剤担持体と対向して現像剤担持体上の現像剤中から分離されたトナーを担持搬送するトナー担持体と、
前記トナー担持体と対向して配置され、前記トナー担持体の担持するトナーで現像される静電潜像を表面に担持する像担持体と、を有する画像形成装置であって、
前記像担持体の表面は、純水に対する接触角が95°以上であることを特徴とする画像形成装置。 - 前記像担持体の表層にはフッ素樹脂粒子を含有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の画像形成装置。
