Abstract
【解決手段】データ線12とゲート線11とを交差させて定義される画素ごとに設けられた有機EL素子24と、有機EL素子24と1対1に設けられ、有機EL素子24を駆動する駆動用トランジスタ22と、データ線を通じたデータ信号を選択、保持し、駆動用トランジスタ24を駆動する選択用トランジスタ21とを含み、2段トランジスタ構造を備えた有機EL表示装置において、選択用トランジスタ21は、1個の選択用トランジスタ21で複数個の駆動用トランジスタ22a〜22cを並列駆動するように構成される。

Description
従来の有機EL表示装置では、図4に示したように、第1のTFT21および第2のTFT22を、OLED素子24に対応して画素ごとにそれぞれ設けている。この結果、配線数が多くなるため、欠陥による断線等によるパネル歩留まり低下の一因となっていた。さらに、配線数が多いことに伴って、開口率も減るというデメリットもあった。
図1は、本発明の実施の形態1における有機EL表示装置の回路構成図である。この有機EL表示装置は、ゲート線11、データ線12、電源線13a〜13c、第1のTFT21、第2のTFT22a〜22c、蓄積容量23、およびOLED素子24a〜24cで構成されている。この図1の構成は、赤、緑、青の3画素分をまとめて示しており、各画素に個別の構成要素は、添字としてa、b、cをそれぞれ付している。
Claims (3)
- データ線とゲート線とを交差させて定義される画素ごとに設けられた有機EL素子と、
前記有機EL素子と1対1に設けられ、前記有機EL素子を駆動する駆動用トランジスタと、
前記データ線を通じたデータ信号を選択、保持し、前記駆動用トランジスタを駆動する選択用トランジスタと
を含み、2段トランジスタ構造を備えた有機EL表示装置において、
前記選択用トランジスタは、1個の選択用トランジスタで複数個の駆動用トランジスタを並列駆動するように構成されたことを特徴とする有機EL表示装置。 - 請求項1に記載の有機EL表示装置において、
前記1個の選択用トランジスタで駆動される前記複数個の駆動用トランジスタのそれぞれは、順次切り替わる個別の電源線を介して電源が供給され、対応する有機EL素子を時分割駆動することを特徴とする有機EL表示装置。 - 請求項1または2に記載の有機EL表示装置において、
前記1個の選択用トランジスタで駆動される前記複数個の駆動用トランジスタは、積層構造を有することを特徴とする有機EL表示装置。
